Has anyone heard about this? Is this true? Did some pinhead actually came up with the idea that not only California is on life support... now we outta scare all productive people away from California...

If this is true, John Galt is gonna look like a deer running from a redneck with an uzi.

Who has the uzi? The deer, or the redneck?

Don’t forget the 1996-or-so Ex-Pat-Tax. Among its provisions: even if you renounce citizenship you’re still on the hook for income taxes another 7 years.

I’d have to see asome proof about that petition. (internet petition?)

The chart below the article predicts a run up in lead prices. LOL

Someone tried. But the ballot initiative failed, at least on the attempt this year.

See http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_j.htm#circ, and search for "wealth tax" on that page.

That article was really talking about batteries that use more lead than bullets do... and it wasn't a prediction... it's a historical chart.

That's what I was looking for! Thanks man... I would think this would be unconstitutional... but hey! What do I know? I'm just a peon...

Imposes one-time tax (between 36.5% - 54.3%) on income exceeding $10 million when resident dies or leaves California.

Davis, Boxer & Feinstein caused me to flee to a red state 9 years ago along with a generous six figure income. I know many others who have done the same, no wonder the place is broke.

The communists in built physical walls to keep people in their tyranny. California nutjobs want to build financial walls to do the same. Good luck.

Well, moving to Canada is bad enough..but PANAMA??

I get the general gist of what the author is saying, but dont believe for a minute people will stand for a 74% tax hike. That is just NOT going to happen.

The Democrats held hearings on taking control of Americans’ 401k retirement accounts. They suggest paying us 3% interest and using it to finance the massive spending they are doing. They claim they are only protecting it from the bad risk of the stock market.

Obama said he was going to take the wealth of the top 2% of Americans. He does what he said he’d do. After he gets tax and trade and socialized medicine through - then comes the scheme to pay for it all.
