“Being Sexually Deprived in a Sex-Saturated Culture (everybody’s talking about it, nobody’s doing it)”
Uh, that would be Japan that you are talking about.

How to prove it?
Live here, or visit, then check the Durex Sex survey and see Japan and the Japanese at the bottom of a very long list -——— (with the French on top!)
I knew it would be those sneaky French!
And Japan, sad to say, is way way way down all by itself at the very very very bottom!!!!

Well, unless one is willing to see a person for who that person is, rather than what they look like, then a person will never be happy.
Fat, old, sagging, it all comes. One marries for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish.
I’m not seeing “except if their looks change” at all.
Anyone who doesn’t see a person as a whole, will never find the person to share his life with.
We are past the point that the husband rules. Before one marries, it would probably be a good idea to get the ground rules straight. If a man cannot accept a woman, or a woman accept a man as the person they are, with flaws, then establish that before the vows.
Cause if a person takes those vows and doesn’t mean them, that person is a liar. And is owed no respect AT ALL.
Some research on steroids. On thyroid disease. Also on fat accumulated from aging would be in order here.

Oh and the bigger question here is, does a person who demands another lose weight, ever have the experience of losing that 100 pounds?
I’ve seen many a husband sit on their butts eating chips and bitching about the pounds on his wife. And the really funny thing is, when the wife takes off, they blame her.
>>Glad to hear that you found a chubby chaser. <<
Wow, talk about personal!!!!!!!
Sorry you can’t take reality. Damn straight and he’s glad too!

Off topic. The topic is why sex has decreased in the population. I believe it's several factors. 1) People letting themselves become unattractive to their spouses. 2) Prevalence of anti-depressants and increased stress. 3) Women/men with the attitude that they don't have to contribute to a relationship... "accept me as I am or else!".
Fat, old, sagging, it all comes. One marries for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish.
Old is not changeable (and not really unattractive either). Fat is controllable for most. One marries for all that agreed, but you can't expect a spouse with an aversion to fat, to want to have sex with you if you don't give a damn about their wishes at all. They can love you, but that does not equate with bedding you.
Im not seeing except if their looks change at all. Anyone who doesnt see a person as a whole, will never find the person to share his life with..

We are past the point that the husband rules.
And the point is what??? I think your chip on shoulder is showing. Somehow you are equating a desire for a fit partner to be connected to a man being "in charge". Odd. Perhaps the weight issue is some kind of passive aggressive response to a feeling of powerlessness. "I am women hear me ROAR (and stay fat just to show how much I'm in control)"
Before one marries, it would probably be a good idea to get the ground rules straight. If a man cannot accept a woman, or a woman accept a man as the person they are, with flaws, then establish that before the vows.
Good advice. I agree. Marriage contracts should be mandatory and inclusive of many factors.
Cause if a person takes those vows and doesnt mean them, that person is a liar. And is owed no respect AT ALL.
Agreed. If a spouse shows that they value their partner so little that they don't care about maintaining some level of desirability (when medically possible), they don't deserve a lot of respect.
Some research on steroids. On thyroid disease. Also on fat accumulated from aging would be in order here.
Excuse me??? Did you not understand my comment. "If your metabolism HAS SLOWED (due to thyroid) that means you need LESS food." Its a simple equation. If you get fat from the amount of food you eat REGARDLESS OF MEDICAL CONDITION (excluding water retention) then you should eat the amount your body needs... which is less.
There are plenty of old people with various medical issues that are thin. Its all just an excuse. Sorry.
And I am practically an expert on thyroid and steroid issues.... since I HAVE THYROID ISSUES MYSELF and I am on steroids (40 mg hydrocortisone daily) for Adrenal issues.
I have the medical issues that make losing weight more difficult... so I eat LESS and exercise. My body needs less, I eat less. SIMPLE.
The only valid reasons for eating more than your body needs, is if you have a psychological issue or an absorption problem (which actually usually results in weight loss). If you have a psych issue, therapy is beneficial (or just exercise... reduces stress). If you have an absorption problem, multi vitamins may help you get what you need... and finding a root cause of the absorption problem is helpful.
You should consider getting tested for Celiac Sprue. I encourage everyone to get tested for that as 1/100 have the disease but few know it. Avoiding gluten (wheat) will really knock off the pounds.
To: StolarStorm
Oh, and about the Celiac Sprue. If it goes undiagnosed for too long, you can get the most severe form of Lymphoma and many autoimmune problems.
Italy requires everyone to get tested for it... its that serious... and that common. But sadly, very few doctors in the USA are familiar with it and test for it.
My undiagnosed Celiac resulted in me getting the autoimmune thyroid and adrenal gland problems that I have. So far, I'm clear of Lymphoma, but we'll see how that goes long term.

Sweetie, you’re obsessed with weight.
Good luck to you.
I’m perfectly happy the way I am, my husband is perfectly happy with the way I am. As I am with him!
You, however are not perfectly happy and therefore need to evaluate why that is.
And with the amount of personal posting you did in your last reply, you bet I’m getting personal here. I’m sorry you can’t find a lady to be your perfection. It’s sad, but sometimes you have to look inward.

Hardly, I am simply addressing the topic of this thread "why sex has decreased". I believe the lack of fitness is a direct cause... and I addressed it. It was not personal.
Im perfectly happy the way I am, my husband is perfectly happy with the way I am. As I am with him!
If that were really true, you would not have started your posts with personal attacks. You obviously have some sort of sensitivity regarding this topic. I addressed the threads topic, you engaged in personal attacks at the beginning.
You, however are not perfectly happy and therefore need to evaluate why that is.
Again... I repeat... I was addressing the thread's topic, not my personal issues. I have made no comments regarding my happiness or otherwise. Everything else is simply your assumptions based on very little information.
And with the amount of personal posting you did in your last reply, you bet Im getting personal here. Im sorry you cant find a lady to be your perfection. Its sad, but sometimes you have to look inward.
Once again... I repeat... I am addressing the topic of this thread... unlike you... who seems to be obsessed with my personal issues. I mentioned the personal medical info to detail out my level of familiarity with the idea that medical issues can result in weight gain. It was in support of my comments regarding the topic of this thread.
And I stand by it. Very few people have a valid medical excuse for being fat, but very many will claim they do.

Maybe it’s just not as important to others as it is to you. See, the thing is, I’m happy, really happy. I keep my hubby happy. I “prime the pump” often and that pleases both of us.
So go ahead and keep explaining yourself. It’s fun to get back into the minds of people. I used to work Psych and it was a blast seeing people showing what was inside their brains without even knowing what was going on.
As you were saying.....

It was the topic of the thread...
See, the thing is, Im happy, really happy.
You keep telling yourself that... LOL. If you were, my comments would not have pushed your buttons.
Playing your game now admittedly, but you have an obvious deep seated sensitivity regarding this topic. You have also demonstrated an issue with perceived male dominance and expectations that people may have of you.
I keep my hubby happy. I prime the pump often and that pleases both of us.
That's nice. Didn't really need to read that, but good for you.

I enjoy delving into the minds of others as well, and you have given away quite a bit yourself about your personal issues.... which you seem to be unaware of.
And I am very cognizant of the game you were playing. You're not talking to a dummy here. IQ 150 to 165 depending on the test. And yes, I know mentioning that also indicates some issues. LOL!
See ya, gotta go swim some laps... nice jousting with you.

Well, I trust that the average FReeper knows how to go back and read each of our past posts.
One will see how we are by how often we offend other posters.
The first page of your “In forum” is very interesting...
Bye!

It really drives me crazy when he mentions that women like shopping or expect to be bought gifts, because that’s so divorced from reality that it isn’t even funny. My answer to “What would you like for ... (occasion X)?” is always, “To take a shower uninterrupted.” I go to The Salvation Army on half-price day so *he* can buy whatever he wants without totally running us into the ground. (/rant)
It’s unfortunate (getting back to your very sensible post ;-) that so many people’s response to the growth of Victimhood was “Oh, I think I’ll try, that, too!” instead of “What a bunch of useless whiners. Anything but that!”

And Japan, sad to say, is way way way down all by itself at the very very very bottom!!!!
Reminds me of the lyrics of an 80's hit sung by the Vapors entitled TURNING JAPANESE. Here's a portion of the song :
No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women
No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark
Everyone around me is a total stranger
Everyone avoids me like a cyclone ranger
(REFRAIN)
That's why I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
(REPEAT REFRAIN)

What’s a cyclone ranger? Something like an air-raid warden?
