Just finished watching the NBC News here in the Chicago Market. Guess what? Not a single mention of the rally in Washington DC today. Not one single second.
Oh sure, they covered some small ethnic rally in a near south side neighborhood and Obama's speech in Minnesota today for nearly 30 seconds, but for the D.C. Rally?
Silence.
I just fired off an email to them expressing my disgust and letting them know I was switching to another station for my local news. I've watched Channel 5's news for as long as I can remember, but no more. Enough is enough.
They completely IGNORED the biggest story of the day, IMO, and as a result they lost a viewer and I told them so.
nbc 10 in philly showed clips of the “thousands” of protestors that packed streets and included a few comments from protestors. They then showed obama at some pep rally pimping his plan.
Thousands, feh. Just read in an overseas paper (UK) which quoted the Department of Homeland Security as saying it was about 2 million people in DC today ....

Don’t know. I’m too busy ignoring my local markets. They irritate me so.
I normally do the same thing for the same reason, but you'd think they couldn't possibly ignore this story .... guess I was wrong about that.
NO wonder they've lost so much marketshare to the cable news outlets (Fox)

Time to send NBC into the dog house. Do not watch anything on NBC. Contact NBC advertisers and complain about their biased reporting. Send them back to the Socialist Paradise they so long for.
NBC4 NY did about 30 sec on the haloed one and 60 on the rally. Neither story led as we have a local coed who’s disappeared from a Yale dorm. That story got about 90 seconds.
Don’t worry, these media slaves to liberalism just hate conservatives worse than they hate Republicans and for good reason... WE WANT ‘EM REPLACED WITH ACTUAL NEWS REPORTERS!!!
KTVU in San Francisco/Oakland gave it 15 seconds of coverage, right after 2 minutes of Obama’s “Health Care Reform” coverage in Minnesota.
Notice how the MSM is now referring to it as “Health Care Reform” instead of “Nationalized Health Care”?
They got their marching orders and are following them.
No coverage of the ACORN scandal either.

Local radio stations here in Detroit are says “Tens of thousands”
The report always comes after the Obama hoedown.
It’s okay though. We have spoken Truth to Power. The votes will come when we need them.
It was interesting... First about 2 minutes on Obama and praising the magnificent centrist speech and the polite large crowd that overflowed the auditorium. Then about 20 seconds of the 912 event and calling it a gang of angry and disruptive tea party protesters who took to the streets to voice opposition to affordable healthcare.
In other words, A LIE!
Yeh..the LSM is delusional. We will shock them in 2010 and the cry then will be ‘what happened’? Any we will reply ‘you lie and deny so we gave you bye bye’.
There were many of us lined up along Randall Road in the western to north-western burbs and that IS in their local Chicago NBC5 news area. I suppose that wouldn’t be interesting to them either.
I was shocked that the local NBC station LEAD the evening news with the 9/12 rally in D.C. They didn’t show an aerial shot, which would be REALLY shocking for NBC, but they covered it with far more balance than I could ever have hope to. NBC!
They said it was organized by conservative groups, but said it was not anti-Obama but anti-big government and anti-spending. They pretty much got it right. Frankly, I was very surprised.
By contrast, the others were silent generally supporing Obama’s Minnesota informercial for socialist medicine. CNN begged off by doing Afghanistan. And of course, Fox had it all.
FWIW, my local Fox channel has been covering the ACORN child brothel story as well. They have been covering it in detail. So not just Fox News on cable but my local Fox affiliate as well.
Both were Sacramento stations - NBC and Fox local.
NBC in Sacramento covered it. I was shocked. I forget the channel because I am on Comcast. I think it is local channel 3.
I am more bothered by the Republicans parroting Obama and calling it “Health Care Reform.” Every Republican should be calling this what it is, “Canada style socialized medicine”. Same for those on Fox News. They need to stop calling it reform and call it Socialized Medicine. That is more honest.
Tort reform is “reform”. Allowing health savings accounts is “reform”. Having the government take over our health care sector the way they took over GM, Chrysler and AIG, is “socialized medicine”.
By the way, NBC local didn’t give a number for the crowd but called it a “massive” rally, or words to the effect. I was shocked they didn’t try to ignore it or cover it up like the rest of the MSM. I was also shocked they lead with this and put Obama’s Minnesota health care infomercial after it.
Our small market CBS gave it decent coverage toward the middle of the news, with Bambi’s rally thrown in. They didn’t mention the small local rally.
WGN in Chicago did a reasonable job on the local 9:30 newscast - the rally showed up reasonably early (just before the report on the Obama shillfest in Minnesota), gave a fair description of crowd size, and didn’t used overly slanted language in the description.
The news showed up when most of the crowd had left..

KING5 Seattle said there were thousands in DC and then went to a long clip of Obama in the Twin Cities.
Why not call it what it is, a government takeover of our medical care.
Socialized medicine is by definition a government take over of our healthy care system. That is exactly what it is.
In both Canada and Britain, the government took over all health care and prohibited the private sector from providing it.
I assumed everybody knew that “socialized medicine” is “government onlyl health care”.
The point needs to be made bluntly or the Left will say, "What's so bad about socialism?"
As if we haven't seen and heard enough of him lately/sarcasm!!!
One lady tried and failed to make the point that even though she didn't vote for Obama, she is now seeing all the things taking place that she feared should he become President.
The black news reader scowled at the end and raised one eyebrow clear up into his hairline!!! Not very subtle tweeking and torquing if you ask me...
Let me know when 60 minutes does their deep expose on ACORN corruption. /heavy sarcasm

California 912 group held a tea party in L.A. at federal building on Wilshire and 405 freeway.
ABC sent one truck over 2 hours BEFORE event was set to start so there were not a lot of people then, though it was building. They stayed about 7 minutes, spoke to one or two people, and left.
The tea party was fantastic, however, with entertainment and speeches etc. Very well done and we got lots of honks and friendly waves along Wilshire.
My guesstimate was about 2 to 3000 people. Anybody else have a better guess?

Last night the late evening news here in the Netherlands led off with the story of the rally. I was surprised, since the major news outlets here generally follow the US MSM in matters of US news.
