You people seem not to understand the risks this man is taking. His life, his family’s lives, are in constant danger. He is being attacked by every left wing loon asylum under the sun GOD!!! If you can’t understand what the man has sacrificed; if you can’t understand the pressure he is under; if you cannot comprehend what he has done, at least stop and think who gets all the ammunition from what you are speculating about without so much as a hint that what you are saying is even remotely true.

Amen, the people that founded this country, that fought for it and gave everything they had for it, I have always pictured as probably a little nutty themselves. Because they are fighting the WORLD view, the status quo. They are going out on a limb to introduce something totally original as a solution. I have often wondered at the mystery that God instilled in a man who emotions were so wild and up and down, the ability to calm America down, and unite us from the frenetic course we're on. My friend, Jesse Lee Peterson has a cleft palate and yet God gave him the ability to speak about hatred and prejudice in such a way as to bring tears to some eyes. God works in mysterious ways, why don't we just be grateful...

As for Beck, who among us would have known who and what Van Jones is, what Cass Sunstein is, what Valerie Jarrett is.....if it were not for Glenn Beck?

I would have-and did.

From you local paper? From the NYT?

From David Horwitz.

Bipolar? How can any reasonable person accuse another of being bipolar with zero personal contact?

This is what I said in my first post on the subject:

In my judgment, Glenn Beck's greatest liability is what I detect to be a tendency towards bipolar excess. A recovering alcoholic, he might be what they describe as on a "dry drunk." This has nothing whatever to do with the quality of this analysis but it does have to do with his emotional stability. I hope and trust that he can `maintain a true course because he represents a very valuable voice for conservatism/libertarianism.

This is a symptom that at least two FReepers now have seen and they have come to the same conclusion, or at least I have, that there is a "tendency" toward bipolar personality and this conclusion was arrived at from observation of the man and his behavior on television together with his rant on YouTube against his telephone caller while he was on the radio. You will note that there was a stipulation made this has "nothing whatever to do with the quality of [t] his analysis." Finally, in the subsequent post it was acknowledged that:

I have no evidence whatsoever for this but I will make the supposition public anyway: I think that the psychiatrist, whose name escapes me, whom Beck prominently features on his program from time to time is probably treating Glenn Beck or in some sort of mentoring program with him.

So there is no attempt to pass a diagnosis off as anything other than "supposition." If you deny me the opportunity to speculate that the man is bipolar, then it is incumbent upon you to provide a cogent explanation for his behavior on television and radio.

Your observations about voting for the man instead of the party deserve a separate reply which I hope will be shortly forthcoming.

good grief............Beck is a showman prone to theatrics to make his point. I find him engaging......I much prefer him to the talking heads shouting over each other in a two minute free for all.

Here is a portion of my post # 38 which I assume you had not read when you posted yours or you would have not done so:

But I would like to emphasize that so far his analysis of the state of our union has been sound and, as you say, his bipolar personality can supply the drive and even the genius which other more "normal" observers lack.

I agree on all counts and I also think that he has "tendency" toward a bipolar personality. I have not read his autobiography if there is one but his description of himself in which she candidly describes himself as a bad person, fits my "supposition."

Do you recall that he has more than once told the story of firing a man because he brought him the wrong pen. He uses the story to illustrate the kind of person he was. By his own admission he was a man haunted by aberrant behavior.

He has had an spiritual epiphany. So did George Bush and, although George Bush certainly is not bipolar and certainly never took a drink while he was in the White House, there is an obvious parallel to observe. I think Glenn Beck resembles George Bush in the respect that he was saved from himself by his epiphany. Both men claim that to be the case.

I am at a loss to understand why it is inappropriate to discuss that which both men have themselves made public. While Glenn Beck has never, to my knowledge, admitted to a bipolar personality, such a diagnosis is fully in keeping with the history he himself puts before the world.

since it is not in his biography, it would be prudent NOT to go around posting such things. I like Beck and it offends ME to read this tripe.

We just need new people, plain and simple (eventually a measure of them will forget the “good-ole days” golden days of the Tea Party movement where they got their start as well (because we are sinners and temptable)..but for now the Corruption must Go!! CLEAN OUT THE SWAMP (AKA” DC)!

I think it was a tease. He mentioned to watch his program on Monday and he would reveal the plan.

The radio show last Friday was a tease for Saturday's rally coverage, during which he would reveal the plan. The first hour of the rally coverage was a tease for the second hour, during which he would reveal the plan. The second hour was a tease for Monday's show, during which he would reveal the plan. ...

The Gang of 14 & Gang of 6? Are you kidding me???? The gang of Rinos. That’s a really bad example. They never stood for principle they lived for “compromise” and wanting fawning coverage from the MSM

It does not have to be in Beck's biography he says that virtually every day on television.

What is "prudent" or imprudent is determined by the quality of your reasoning and not by the threshold by which you take offense.

Taking offense unreasonably-or at least without bothering to marshal reasons -is what constitutes real "tripe."

Seeking to censor, even informally, on the basis of utterly subjective and unsupported personal offense is worse than "tripe," it is destructive to free debate and honest inquiry.

It would be a shame and a large distraction if some of those old clunkers happened to catch on fire. Fords are known for that.

You are totally correct. It also offends me VERY MUCH!!!.

I was wondering how long it would take the crazies on FR to start bashing Glenn.

If it weren’t for him, we would still be in the woods.

Hey crazies. Do you have a better plan? Do you have the courage to go public? Do you have his smarts?

No, no, and no.

True, but the point is that a few can seriously rock the boat.

Come now, nathanbedford offered a reasonable explanation for why he believes it might be the case that Mr. Beck is prone to a bipolar personality... further, he also admitted it was his own analysis. What’s wrong with that? How is it offensive?

I have a couple friends who are bi-polar and we have some very good discussions. I find that it has the benefit of making people a bit more aware-of/sensitive-to how things impact them. (There are plenty of things that don’t provide some sort of benefit though.)

I do know that after coming back from Iraq I too was (and still am) disgusted by the injustice so present in government.
