Boy, was I wrong. I can remember telling Glenn Reynolds during CPAC that these Tea Party demonstrations were rinky-dink and going nowhere. Barely more than a half-year later, they’re putting two million people on the Washington Mall. Wow! If I were Obama & Co., I’d be afraid, I’d be very afraid.
And no doubt they are. They bobbled the ball big time and I wouldn’t be surprised if heads are going to start to roll – and not just the obvious (and relatively inconsequential) ones like Van Jones. Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod are going to be looking at each other like nervous apparatchiks in the Politburo because someone is going to have take the bullet for the disaster they have wrought. Emanuel is looking like a particular dummy right now for opening his mouth about not missing a good crisis. It is from idiotic statements like that unread stimulus bills get passed or giant healthcare legislation proffered without anyone knowing the contents, not even (and maybe especially) the President.
No wonder the public is outraged. They have a perfect right to be.
One other note from an old protestor. When I made that statement to Glenn those many months back, I did it with the supposed authority of someone who had been at a lot of demonstrations when on the left. I can remember a couple that might have been nearly this big (not sure, really). But I can’t remember anything this size that was entirely non-violent. That’s rather miraculous for a two-million person demonstration and deserves the highest praise, though I doubt the mainstream media will say much. They’re still digesting how much they’re despised.
I do have one minute criticism. The person carrying the Obama/Hitler poster should have his/her wrist slapped. Hitler comparisons (except perhaps in the case of Ahmadinejad) are odious, stupid and insulting to the people murdered by Hitler. Enough.
It early yet, that's why we need to act now.
There has been NOTHING done to stop them now, and there will be nothing to stop them in the future. They have just funneled the money to other shadow “organizations”. Like Katrina, the billions of dollars that just disappeared into thin air, have ACORN’s name all over it!

I happen to agree. BamaKennedy and his minions are much more akin to the Bolsheviks of Russia in the early 20th century than of the Hitler era. Hitler took advantage of an already destroyed German economy, now BamaKennedy is destroying the economy to take advantage.
No question, they all get Potomac Fever when they come to DC. I mean, where else can you get a cushy gig like that? They are terrified of leaving and the thought of having to get a real job.
One thing Republicans will never understand is that they are going to get bashed no matter what, so they may as well stand for something.
Agree that Republicans have largely squandered their leadership opportunities in the past.

I'm curious about that too. I would bet there was very little trash left. The oh-so-environmentally conscious libs leave TONS of garbage after every one of their rallies.

I don’t think pelosi shows fear that you would notice.
But she uncharacteristically didn’t throw the gavel down at Joe Wilson because she didn’t want to admonish him in front of the entire country.....bull! Someone like Joe Lieberman may not want to embarrass their colleague, but pelosi would take joy in it.
She knows this movement is real and that is what restrained her from admonishing Joe that night.

That’s this year. If things don’t change, and our GOP reps in D.C. don’t have a come-to-Jesus moment and start doing the right thing, next time could be different. We DO have the obligation to protect ourselves from evil bureaucrats. If Hussein understood the Constitution, American History, etc., he’d know that. Maybe you have to be an American to truly understand, though, and he isn’t.

Zero only read the Mao’s Red Book, and he’s distributing his new version “Single Payer System” in which he will add some of the Mao’s “theory”: “Great Helmsman, Great Leader, Great Teacher and Great Commander. Long Long live Chairman [Mao] ZERO”.
Many are counting on the elections of 2010 and 2012 to peacefully throw them out of office and reverse the damage - they are thinking of Carter's damage being reversed by Reagan. However, that was then and this is now - the rules have changed and not for the better.
Still others are counting on their guns and ammo, but fail to realize just how ruthless Hussein et al will be when the time comes.
None are thinking how to communicate when all forms of electronic com are controlled by Hussein...

When in the paving business, I had a buddy who was Gen Supt for a Major builder and his favorite ‘line’ was
“If ‘they’ don’t pay you, I will quit”.
I would reply
“That may be good for your soul and ego, but it doesn’t make my payroll or do anything for my profit margin”.

Any and all comparisons you see to Hitler are mistaken, misdirections, or misunderstandings of the ideology in play.
The world has now known Hitler, Lenin, Stalin and Mao, we know there are people out just like them. All were loved and adored by many and none of them started their careers as mass murderers but that is certainly how they ended them.
Hitler didn’t rise to power threatening to slaughter millions. He rose to power with pictures of smiling children threatened by a dark subhuman enemy lurking in the shadows.
