This guy may end up fundraising more than any other candidate in 2010. He did the right thing, offered his apology, and now is standing his ground and using the opportunity to reinforce his original opinion.

This is exactly the way to do it. If George Allen would have done this same thing post-macaca, he would have won re-election and possibly been president right now.

"I've apologized one time. The apology was accepted by the president, the vice president. ... I am not apologizing again," he told "FOX News Sunday." "

The dems just want him to kiss their collective @sses, and he's telling them to "shove it". That should be worth a few hundred thousand more in donations to his candidacy. Tims are hard, but everybody needs to send 5-bucks...that would add up quick.

Pelosi does not want him to apologize. She wants him to self-immolate. And if he won’t do it, she will gladly provide the gasoline and match herself.

Actually, I'd love for him to announce that he will apologize, then stand before the House and launch into a diatribe against the lying SOB in the White House. He'd get national coverage. (A bit reminisent of Galileo's recantation in which he finished by quietly saying (about the Earth) "But it does move."

And the Republicans should be positioned to back him up to the hilt.

But that would never happen.

Let Pelosi and Reid apologize for claiming the CIA and W lied first. And then apologize for the Porkulus spending.

Apologies to the president and the vice-president are more than enough. Anything more is over-kill.

The GOP has been looking for a leader. If Wilson handles this right, he might be the leader. He needs to use this as an opportunity to get up on his soap box. Throw it back in Pelosi’s face.

This new White House, like wimpy cousins of Stalin, are trying to create these little symbolic mini-show trials, and this is perhaps their first real opportunity.
Wilson will not apologize further, and he probably sees that he shouldn’t have at the beginning: his initial apology only gives them reason to believe he’s guilty. that he thinks he’s guilty, and that he’s therefore vulnerable and ripe for further humiliation at their hands. They’re aware he’s getting massive contributions; that must really raise their hackles. Don’t know whether this will be dropped eventually, but I kinda sense it will.

Reminds me of my childhood....”If you don’t apoligize I’m going to beat the tar out of you!”

“I’m sorry, Momma.”

Then later...”I’m not really sorry but I don’t want to get beaten.”

Pelosi is a child. A dangerous child.

But, if the dems are voted out in 2010 the republicans will forgive and forget and probably even appoint co-chairs of all the committees.

Wilson should apologize AFTER every dem who booed President Bush apologizes. And after President Obama apologizes for appointing a self proclaimed communist to the administration. ( Van Jones is gone - but not forgotten)

He should "apologize" like Sheridan "apologizes" in the Babylon 5 episode "The Fall of Night" (here, just after 33 minutes). To wit:

Capt. John Sheridan: [practicing his "apology"] I apologize... I'm sorry.

[exhales]

Capt. John Sheridan: I'm sorry we had to defend ourselves against an unwarranted attack. I'm sorry that your crew was stupid enough to fire on a station filled with a quarter million civilians, including your own people. And I'm sorry I waited as long as I did before I blew them all straight to Hell!... As with everything else, it's the thought that counts.

Here is what Wilson should say: “I apologize for my breach of decorum.” Then launch into an explanation of how what zero said was untrue. Followed by: “While my outburst may have been inappropriate, the fact remains ....... HE LIED!!!”

Madam speaker......... it is with the greatest feeling and humble humility that I come before this august body to seek your forgiveness and to express my sincerest feelings on the matter

He lied

Thank you and best wishes in your future endeavors.

I am not apologizing again

Joe Wilson has no need to consider additional apologies.

I read now that the Democratic leadership is seeking a public apology from Wilson to his colleagues on the House floor.

Here is what I think the democrats deserve and openly and loudly should seek. They should demand that Wilson and Wilson's supporters prove his assertion that Obama lied. From what I have read in HR3200 that should be relatively easy to do.
