White House Dismisses Dowd Claim That Wilson Outburst Was Race-Based
Maureen Dowd writes in The New York Times that Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst Wednesday -- when he shouted, You lie," at the president for claiming his health care reform plan would not cover illegal immigrants -- convinced her that racial angst is the underlying motive among Obama critics like Wilson.

The White House on Sunday dismissed a claim by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd that administration critics like Rep. Joe Wilson, who called President Obama a liar during his health care address to Congress, are motivated by race.
Wilson, speaking on "FOX News Sunday," also denied the allegation.
"No, no," the South Carolina Republican said when asked if Obama's skin color was an issue for him. "Hey, I respect the president. ... I have a great respect for the Obama family."
Dowd wrote in her column that Wilson's outburst Wednesday -- when he shouted, You lie," at the president for claiming his health care reform plan would not cover illegal immigrants -- convinced her that racial angst is the underlying motive among Obama critics like Wilson.
"I've been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer ... had much to do with race," she wrote. "But Wilson's shocking disrespect for the office of the president -- no Democrat ever shouted 'liar' at W. when he was hawking a fake case for war in Iraq -- convinced me: Some people just can't believe a black man is president and will never accept it."
Dowd wrote that Wilson "clearly did not like being lectured and even rebuked by the brainy black president presiding over the majestic chamber."
Asked about the claim, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said race is not the factor.

Herein lies the first problem. The belief that Obamessiah is "brainy." He is smart. He is not what I would call brainy. If he were, he would not have so many facts wrong.
I don’t even think he’s smart. Smart people can think on their feet. Obama is horrible whenever he has to talk in an unscripted setting.

This is why you find the Obama White House having more "concerts" in its first 6 months than all the others over the course of 4 years.
He has great barbeques and serious picnics on Weekends, and, if you watch, he gets pricey REGULAR vacations!
He needs to stay tanned, rested and ready for the next public appearance or TV special and you can't do that if you spend a lot of time reading, studying and thinking.
Dowd knows this but she imagines he'll call her in for a "private interview" if she keeps saying this stuff ~ ain't no way ~ man's got a matron and she will defend him from all comers.

Is there a single online source that’s keeping a tally of the plethora of stories of unfounded cries of racism for merely criticizing Øbama? Said site would probably be hundreds deep by now. This tendency is getting old and reeks of desperation. When Øbama was elected, the one silver lining I saw was that it finally proved that America is not the hive of racists that some perpetually claim. But it seems that race relations are worse than ever and getting worse every day.
In my weekly Bible study, one woman said we need to pray about a threat she heard about. She said that Muslims are planning to assassinate the Prez to instigate race riots in America. After initially dismissing such a notion, I was overwhelmed with a sensation that a U.S. race war is imminent. More shocking was a sad but obvious sensation of “the sooner the better.”
I’m sick and tired of this race game. If a war is inevitable, lets rumble and get it over with. I can’t continue to be called a racist at the drop of a hat. It has gone on my entire life of 48 years and has got to stop.
For a guy who promised a post-racial era, Obama sure has a lot of racial issues to deal with. Possibly he’s failed? Nahhhhh.

Maybe he’ll get smart after he loses his majorities in congress in 2010, but I’m not placing any bets on it.

Watching the “Chris Matthews” show this morning, it seems the liberals are in a trance to avoid thinking their idol, Obama, is abusing their ideals.
Lashing out at racists is a comfortable place for them.
