As public outrage in some parts of the country against President Obama seems to grow louder by the week, some Democrats believe that his sharpest critics are driven by racism. At a fall gathering of the Democratic National Committee in Austin, several Democrats expressed dismay with the anger exploding mostly from white Americans, such as the tens of thousands who marched on the nation's capital Saturday. African-American lawmakers like Texas Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson say the tone of the president's critics increasingly suggests what is motivating their vitriol.
"It's hurting the spirit of this country," Johnson said, expressing worry about what outsiders might think of large portions of the country behaving as if the president of the United States were illegitimate. "As far as African-Americans are concerned, we think most of it is [racism]." Politico notes that Johnson had a "warm personal relationship" with George W. Bush and is known for her ability to set aside partisan differences.
At a "tea party" in Washington on Sept. 12, many conservative protesters made clear that their anger was with "big government" and not exclusively with Obama. Most said they had come to protest a government that has been encroaching on their freedoms long before Obama took office, though many mixed their political angst with strong personal animosity toward the president.

Libs are concerned by what they see as a large number of whites opposed to Obummer.
Well when you consider that 90% of blacks march in lockstep with Obummer, of course the majority opposed will be white. BTW all me conservative black friends don’t like Obummer, are they racist too?
“No, that’s: Democrats Want To Believe Racism is Driving Obama Critics.”
No, they want the American people to believe this garbage. They don’t necessarily believe it, they just see it as a useful tactic.
As I said in another thread, this is simply one more brazen attempt to intimidate people who have legitimate criticisms about Obama into keeping quiet. The idea is scare people into believing that if they criticize Obama, they will be labeled as racists. These people also want to send independents who don’t follow politics closely the message that the popular uprising is race based on not legitimate.
Disgusting but typical of the liberals.
Obama is the race card, and the RATS played him.
Their feelie-weelies just TELL them so, right?
Senator Robert Byrd(D & KKK)
“racism”, yup, if it pertains to the race toward socialism...;)
I'm already there.
Exactly and they need to get real. (which ain’t ever gonna happen)
I sense racisn
This incredibly racist screed was posted on Daily Kos titled, I Am Scared For My Black Husband, that is the top of the Rec list right now.

Many AA are speaking out but not being covered and we are very upset. Even more so because now they are saying that Congress should not reprimand Wilson for treating the Prez with so much disrespect.
He treated the Prez like a boy in front of the world and this is not resting well with many in AA community along with the blatant racism against him.

I am truly scared and worried. We are trying to find a job in Canada.
I am worried that if this anger is not stemmed that they could try to hurt black AA men because they are more accessible than Obama. Call me crazy but this thing is really bugging me out.
Something is going on out there and it is not pretty. I hope we can stop it before people are seriously hurt.
I am truly scared for my black husband.
And out of 600+ comments, many racist, not one, NOT A SINGLE COMMENTOR, dares to point out that its DEMOCRATS that are ginning up the racial hatreds right now, and they are doing it for political gain.
Democrats, and their associated groups have turned Racism into a money-making, profitable business, that rakes in tens of millions of dollars every year. But I think they are playing the Race-Card so much, that people have begun to stand up to the demonizations.
Saw a bumper sticker on cafepress - “dissent is not racism”. If I were brave enough I would get that one - maybe later when he has only 20% approval!
In some of the places I go every week, that would likely GET ME KILLED. And that is not an exaggeration.
Like in Gary, Indiana....
I saw a sign like that at the Saturday March. Would make a great tagline!
Sure we’re racists, just not as Racist as Obozo.
Pray for America
The soft racism of the establishment media helped put this mystery man in the Oval Office by ignoring his lack of any record whatsoever, save his curious autobiographies. At best he’s merely abjectly inexperienced, at worst he’s a Marxist socialist. But we don’t know who he really is, do we, (as Brokaw or someone surprisingly said shortly after the election.) Of late, he’s looking like both.
Had Obama been a white man, Hillary would have been the democratic nominee.
Had Obama been a Republican, with the same good looks, ready smile and telepromted “gift” (his word for it) of speech, they would have attacked the absence of all relevant academic, employment and, probably, birth records.
The “racism” meme is projection and desperation.
They brought up race back then, claiming that black voters in Florida were prevented from voting, being “disenfranchised” (one of those talking point words liberals like to use to death).
You’d have to be a life long KKK member to be more racist than a man who when to Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years.
And the KKK is a Democrat organization!
Just using RACE to cover their commie asses! F-um all. Racism is such a weak crutch. Stand on values and principals......Oh wait.....they don’t have any. Hence the racist crutch!
The racial hatred is directed AT WHITEY, not the other way around.
This person shouldn’t worry about having to leave the country in order to be safe. The people she’s worried about simply want to be left alone. They/we will use force to MAKE them leave us alone, but we won’t be the ones initiating force to make someone do something they don’t want to do.
