If for no other reason, and there are other reasons, In God We Trust should remain on the currency out of long tradition; i.e., “the passing down of elements of a culture from generation to generation, especially by oral communication.” PC has long ago gone too far!

Question; Yes. It’s a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.

The separation of church and state is a legal and political principle derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . .”

An August 15, 1789 entry in James Madison’s papers indicates he intended for the establishment clause to prevent the government imposition of religious beliefs on individuals

MSNBC - A bunch of uneducated morons

"I’m a Christian and think it should be removed. America doesn’t trust in God."

Actually, for the great majority of Americans - we do trust in God. The question should have been "could a real Christian have voted for Obama?", and the answer is "No".
Meanwhile, this original poll is a meaningless excercise meant only to drive clicks to MSNBC.

If we want to reflect the majority, we must create wealth by dividing wealth and giving it away.

If we want to reflect the majority, white males must redirect all assets to minorities and then commit seppuku.

If we want to reflect the majority, conservatives must forever be silenced.

If we want to reflect the majority, US laws must be subordinate to international law as defined by leftists in Brussels.

Well, if they took a vote on “In Obama We Trust”, how do you think that would poll? Because ultimately, and in the final analysis, that’s what these polls are always about.

Re: "Money Is the Root of All Evil"

Correction.. its the Love of money is the root of all (types of) evil--- 1 Timothy 6:10. Money is just a tool and not evil of itself but if one loves, devotes self to money as a servant of it then corruption of soul ensues.

11% Yes. It’s a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.

89% No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.

I can see the results but not where to vote. Also, they claim the responses on this vote are close to 17 MILLION. Obviously using it to get hits.

Obviously using it to get hits.

That's what all these dumb website polls are. They're not in the least bit scientific so no one takes them seriously as polls. The whole idea is to create a controversial 'question' to generate traffic so they can charge their site advertisers more. I don't mind doing it for a website whose presence I'd like to help sustain, but why should we help GE/MSNBC's bottom line?
