Meet Bob Bennett. He is a Republican United States Senator. He is up for re-election next year.
Bob Bennett is about to screw America.
Bob Bennett is a fiscally irresponsible Senator who prides himself on being a Senators Senator. He was the only Republican who stood up and clapped when Barack Obama attacked Sarah Palin in his Joint Session of Congress speech last week.
And Bob Bennett wants to cut a deal on healthcare. Why? Because thats what Senators do. The compromise. And if you are a Republican Senator, you capitulate.
Bob Bennett is working with Ron Wyden on Oregon on a healthcare alternative. Theyve proposed this plan for a while. The plan is terrible. As the Heritage Foundation correctly notes:

Hope he is challenged in the primaries then.
What a sinister looking creep.
Who’s challenging him in the Republican primary?
This evil looking &^$#$&.
We need to light up his switchboard and fax machine.
Free faxes at www.faxzero.com and www.gotfreefax.com.
You can send 2 a day at each night.
He is in Utah? Someone in the conservative radio or TV needs to bring this guys name up so someone is in line to run against him.
He looks like he’s made of wax.
Isn’t that the funeral director guy from Phantasm? /s
Damn....he almost looks like James Carville who looks EXACTLY like Gollum.
Well that would be who people in that state should get behind perhaps and rid the state of the other goof Bennett if he is that offensive.
Retire or hang.
Tell him to have a talk with FORMER Republican GORDON SMITH of Oregon who also got together more and more with Ron Wyden. It worked out fine for WYDEN (still there)...Smith, not so much...tossed out! I have to believe that Utah is certainly more conservative than OREGON!!!
contact him...let him know he is being watched
Reminds me of this guy:
Is this the guy that wrote the letter about the Czars that Major garrett was quoting today?
I bet they’ve got some uncomfortable pictures of him... pictures the voters wouldn’t appreciate.
I think we really need to make sure our guys aren’t being blackmailed. If they’re being compromised, we need them to resign immediately.
What’s he trying to do, Romneyize America?
It’s him! I knew it! Say...are they gonna be giving old folks their own silver ball?
He looks like Skeletor’s older brother.

Ping
He kinda looks like Mr. Burns on the Simpsons.
Just what I was thinking. Maybe Bob Bennett was Matt Groening’s inspiration.
Yep. Wyden sold out his buddy Gordon in the general election because Gordon had an R after his name...of course, enough conservatives also refused to vote for Gordon and Merkley won with less than 50% of the vote. That bipartisanship thingee can really stink...Bennett would do well to remember that.
The Utah AG is challenging him, but he isn’t much better and don’t forget Bennett has a strong position in the state of Utah because of who he is... look at his family tree.
Oh. That Bob Bennett. RINO.
I thought the exact same thing.
The former chair of the Ohio GOP was also named Bob Bennett and was also a major RINO.
I knew his father, Senator Wallace F. Bennett. The family fortune came from the Bennett Paint Co. I'd say he definitely has the right connections and pedigree for success in Utah politics. Here are the 1st two paragraphs from his Wiki bio:
"Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Bennett is the son of Frances Marion Grant and the U.S. Senator Wallace Foster Bennett,[2] as well as the grandson of Heber J. Grant, the seventh president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bennett attended high school at East High, and he earned his B.S. from the University of Utah in 1957 majoring in Political Science. He also served as the Student Body President at the University of Utah.
"In 1962, Bennett married Joyce McKay, a granddaughter of David O. McKay, the ninth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints."
Looks like Montgomery Burns
you read my mind - was thinking the very same thing.
Run him out. I will give money to whoever challenges him, wether it is a democrat or a republican. He must go. Whoever has this jackass as a senator, please keep us apprised of what is going on with him, when he is up for reelection, who is running against him etc.
...he's spent time on and off for the last seven years building a defense of the Book of Mormon, one of the key tomes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The three-term senator whose job puts him at the center of political power has now delved into a different debate: whether the book Mormons believe was revealed by an angel to their founder Joseph Smith in the 1820s is authentic."I live in a world where sometimes you have to respond to conflicting opinions," said Bennett in an interview. A former missionary and bishop and the grandson of a past president of the church, the senator turns 76 this month (Sept.).
lets see.....if I had 6 wives and 40 kids I’d probably be interested in some taxpayer relief from insurance premiums.....
Thanks but the Bible is good enough for me.
Bump! Another wishy-washy RINO with Utah Mormon royalty connections. Sheesh!

Utah GOP Senate Candidate Mark Shurtleff Stands Up for Governor Palin Against Obama
By Tommy Report
Editor's Note: This post is dedicated to our friend, Beehive and other folks from Utah who follow C4P. This post should not be read in any way as an endorsement of either candidate given the many endorsement requests that we receive on a daily basis. :)
Utah Senator Bob Bennett was one of four Republicans to stand up and applaud when Barack Obama effectively accused Governor Palin of lying when she used the phrase "death panel" as a metaphor for what would likely occur down the road should Obamacare ever become law. Bennett is also up for re-election in 2010. Mark Shurtleff, Utah's Attorney General, is challenging Bennett for the GOP nomination and highlighted Bennett's decision to support Obama:
"It is no surprise Bob Bennett stood with the Democrats and applauded Obama's attack on Sarah Palin," said Jason Powers, campaign spokesman for Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, who entered the race in late May. "In Washington, D.C., you are known for the company you keep." Powers also went after Bennett for S391, legislation he is co-sponsoring with Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Oregon.
"Bob Bennett's own health care proposal has a provision calling for end-of life clearinghouses," Powers said. "No one knows exactly what those clearinghouses would do or advise, but we do know Bennett wants to appropriate one million of our tax dollars to them each year."
The main thing I remember Bob Bennett for was that he was one of the chief instigators in ramping up public hysteria about Y2K. The guy’s a loon...I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he’s a truther.
On another note I hope to see Elsie tonight or tomorrow. Coffee will be ready in the morning and whiskey in the evening.
Yes, he does support Gov. Palin, but like the other problem people in the senate he is an attorney and a three-term AG... who only went after the Fundamentalists when the AZ AG pushed him and pushed him to do something... Cherilyn Eagar is who most Utah conservatives have mentioned most frequently as their choice.
