WASHINGTON (AP) -- The House has voted to deny all federal funding for ACORN, the community organizing group that has been caught up in several scandals.
The House action came several days after the Senate took a similar vote to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN.
Republicans, long critics of the liberal-leaning group that advocates for the poor, led the effort to cut off all federal funds.
California Republican Darrell Issa, who sponsored the measure in the House, says the "scandal surrounding the criminal activities of ACORN have called into question their role in all aspects of government."
The vote, on a provision attached to a student aid bill, was 345-75. All 75 no votes were Democrats.

Enough to override a veto by Zippy.
I can’t wait to see what he does.
Fear not, they’ll re-fund them again somewhere else... like on page 1,797 of the healthcare bill or somepleace like that.
“I can’t wait to see what he does”
He’ll say nothing, but do an executive order to fund the same organization which will have a new name soon.
Including $8.5 billion in stimulus, I would think. LOL.
And most (if not all) of those 75 owe their election victories to ACORN's voter fraud schemes.
I’m sure a bunch of them would like to but they might not try it for a while. They know too many people are watching now.
I’m curious to see the list.
I’m sure that every single one of them is in a safely gerrymandered Dhimmi district. And you know the entire Black Caucus voted to keep funding them.

Every time I’ve tried to post from that I get it rejected - not even an excerpt allowed. How did you do it?
Makes me think the 75 no votes need to be swept out the door in 2010!
Most of them are in very safe districts that has no chance to electing any one else.
Conyers voted to defund? Wonder what his angle is?
Frank is a no vote.
My ACORN/COI/SEIU supporting congresscoward voted to defund.
Just normally. Under News/Activism. I did nothing unusual and experienced no problems.
Do you get a notice from FR saying that we are not supposed to post from that site? Or does it cause you technical problems?
I’m guessing they will fund it under a different name.
Fixed it. You don't cut off funding to advocates of the poor. You cut off funds to criminals.
F.R rejects it. with a little notice, not to post from ap.org
75 blatent criminals in da *House*!
This article says to ‘defund ALL’ Acorn funding, is that true? I read defunding, only part of ACORN’s tentacles...Anyone?
