(CHICAGO) (WLS) -- There was word Saturday that the death of a University of Chicago scientist may be linked to a bacteria that causes the plague.

The University of Chicago says there doesn't appear to be any threat to the public, and no other illness related to the case has been reported.

The modified strain of "y-pestis" has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control for routine laboratory studies, and it is not known to cause illness in healthy adults.

...Plague?

...Chicago?

Does this guy have *ANY* links to ACORN, Ayers, Dohrn, Wright, or anyone else controversial from Chicago?

...and does this have anything to do with those controversial FEMA concentration camps that the tin-foil-hat crowd keep talking about /sarc>?

Cheers!

The article manages to misspell the scientific name of the organism each time they use it.

The organism is Yersinia pestis, abbreviated as Y. pestis.

The standards of journalism have really dropped.

"and no other illness related to the case has been reported."

Meaning, they're just going to let it spread until it's too late? /tin-foil-hat> /sarc>

Cheers!

” The standards of journalism have really dropped. “

Beyond spelling errors, the remaining paragraphs (there are only two) of the article seem to contradict the headline and lead paragraphs, without explanation or clarification...

Is it just bad reporting, or is there something seriously wrong, here??

Probably bad reporting. Not enough information there to decide anything.

We must evacuate Chicago immediately.

And then carve WIDE avenues between the sectors of the city to prevent pestilential rats and mice crossing the street.

The sewers must be plugged; the water turned off; and other things.

Chicago, the Windy City, a city of broad shoulders (Once, a long time ago)

Home of the Sox

Inventor of the “Chicago Red Hot” (or Chicago dog)

The Second city and of couse most famously

Home of the atomic bomb - early atomic (New-cuu-lar if you’ll are from Texas) experiments at the University of Chicago led to the end game over Japan.

That left a mark, just search the keywords Chicago and atomic. You just might be surprised.

They will keep messing with viruses, bacteria etc, til they finally come up with the one that will cause devastation, so Rhambo can ‘never let a good crisis go to waste’!
