Michelle Malkin ^ | 9/23/2009 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 09/23/2009 11:36:15 AM PDT by kara2008

Last week, FNC’s Sean Hannity traveled to the San Joaquin Valley to report on the man-made drought that’s wreaking havoc on farmers in the name of saving the Delta smelt: {video}...

Earlier tonight, GOP South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint tried to turn the water back on. The Senate voted down his amendment, 61-36. Here’s the roll call vote.

It was basically a party line vote except for Snowe and Collins.

It appears that EVERY Demonrat voted NOT to turn the water back on. I suppose preserving the livilihood of all these farmers and the food supply for our nation is not important to these insane politicians.

This was the Democrat Vote for Famine.

Let's see, what other governments in recent history used engineered famine to control the populace? Hmmm...

Too bad them Californians aren't armed.

They could just go down to where the valves are, eject the company pukes working there, and turn the water back on.

What would John Wayne do?

My husband had an interesting thought about this debacle...Pelosi’s old man is in real estate (how many other polits are in real estate?). Just think of how cheaply they could buy all this land if they starve the farmers into having to sell.

Wrong! The San Joaquin farmers vote Republican. Perhaps this is like the auto bailouts. Shut down Republican dealers; starve Repbulican farmers. Of course everybody else has to suffer too.

I seriously am concerned with logic. Why not create a fish farm with some stimulus money and restore the water to the farmers?

The Liberal mind will eventually die of its own thirst.

I do fear retribution from the farmers.

This “smelt policy” ranks among the worst abuses of Government power in U.S. History. The central valley in California, when irrigated, may be the most productive agricultural land in the world.

The story of this vote needs to be echoed on all the Spanish speaking stations and sites. They didn’t know that “Si Se Puede” was short for “Si Se Puede - save the smelt and screw the agricultural business.”

The stupid minnows need to fished to extinction with nets, and made into pizza toppings. Topped with California grown green peppers and tomatoes.

These people are such complete fools, it defies description.
Hard to believe the 2 CA Senators actually voted to bankrupt thousands of California families and businesses with this vote.

If the R's can't get one of these seats after this; something is very wrong.

Time to take up arms and turn the pumps back on. I find it difficult to believe that it is not possible to screen the intakes at a distance from the pumps so the delta smelt don’t get sucked in.

Let’s see if the California RATs have the cojones to try to put down a people’s rebellion.

Yep the 2 Super Rino Witches form Maine and Voino-Bitch are holding true to form.

I don't know why the Dummy-Crats are so concerned about a temporary appointment from Ma., for with those 3 regular turncoats, the R's would be hard pressed to EVER reach a 41 filibuster, vote!

This is a question I CONTINUALLY ask the libs and have never gotten any answer other than hemming and hawing much less any substantial explanation:

Considering the overwhelming number of RINO's in Congress, why is there not ONE DINO?

And no, the handful of "blue dog" DemoRats don't count as when push comes to shove, they will rarely buck their party, much less Pelosi and Reid!!!

Not until there are produce shortages and/or price increases. I believe Hannity said SanJoaquin supplies 40% of the tomatoes in the U.S. and 12% of the country's produce.

As usual, the state-run-media is missing in action. Here's another major strike against the SRM. They are truly vile.

It is time for my sarcastic reminder to disgruntled conservatives who say “THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE between the 2 parites.”

Right. As if the Republicans would ever have shut down municipal water supplies for agribusiness over a bait fish.

Right. No difference between the Republicans and Rats. None. None whatsoever. Right. None.

Don’t make me laugh...

And to all of you who voted 3rd party, thank you all so much for Obama, Sotomayor and soaring food prices that will result from this asinine action. Thank you all so very much for your glorious, feel good protest votes. Yes, McCain would have been a half-liberal RINO himself, but not an out and out communist.
