Last week, FNCs Sean Hannity traveled to the San Joaquin Valley to report on the man-made drought thats wreaking havoc on farmers in the name of saving the Delta smelt: {video}...
Earlier tonight, GOP South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint tried to turn the water back on. The Senate voted down his amendment, 61-36. Heres the roll call vote.

It appears that EVERY Demonrat voted NOT to turn the water back on. I suppose preserving the livilihood of all these farmers and the food supply for our nation is not important to these insane politicians.
Pay attention, California. YOUR TWO AIR-HEADED SENATORS are saying that little fishies are more important than you.
let them all eat dirt
Good gawd.
Well, there ya’ have it. Humans are expendable according to Democrats. Fish are tops.
All this over a freaking guppy.
What a bunch of stupid $h!ts....
.....this is pro Dhimmicrat, Obama luvin California....
they will reap what they sow, mark my words.....
smelt this one coming.
I say again......If farmers in California what the rest of the Nations attention about this subject.....stop shipping food out of the State. Then sit back and wait until other states go hungry.
Let's see, what other governments in recent history used engineered famine to control the populace? Hmmm...

Sick. If I had a dry farm down there I’d try to figure out a way to kill all the fish so it wouldn’t be an issue anymore.
bwhahahahahahah!!!
Verrah confusing. “Cali” is a city in Colombia, and I couldn’t figure out why the Senate would be involved.
Snowe and Collins are evil.
Collins and Snowe the only two “R’s” in the “yea” category. No surprise.
Put ‘em in a photo with Hillary, and you have the opening for a new production of “Macbeth”.
They could just go down to where the valves are, eject the company pukes working there, and turn the water back on.
What would John Wayne do?
My husband had an interesting thought about this debacle...Pelosi’s old man is in real estate (how many other polits are in real estate?). Just think of how cheaply they could buy all this land if they starve the farmers into having to sell.
Looks like both Voinovich and (Sherrod) Brown voted to table the amendment. Lousy libtard gasbags... Pathetic.
I wonder how long it is going to take for these farmers to organize, arm themselves, and turn on their own water? All it takes is a leader with some cajones.
Feinstein compares this to Pearl Harbor?
WTH has this woman been smoking?
Wrong! The San Joaquin farmers vote Republican. Perhaps this is like the auto bailouts. Shut down Republican dealers; starve Repbulican farmers. Of course everybody else has to suffer too.
That reminds me of the quote from Damien -- Omen II, where the Devil's man in the Thorne company says, "Our business is famine."
I seriously am concerned with logic. Why not create a fish farm with some stimulus money and restore the water to the farmers?
The Liberal mind will eventually die of its own thirst.
I do fear retribution from the farmers.
IF Arnold had any testes, he would send the NG out there to turn the water back on and then camp on it. Its insane.
This “smelt policy” ranks among the worst abuses of Government power in U.S. History. The central valley in California, when irrigated, may be the most productive agricultural land in the world.
The story of this vote needs to be echoed on all the Spanish speaking stations and sites. They didn’t know that “Si Se Puede” was short for “Si Se Puede - save the smelt and screw the agricultural business.”
Will Americans pay any attention to this fiasco at all? Will they remove the idiots that put the interests of a dying fish species above human beings? I’m not hopeful.
The stupid minnows need to fished to extinction with nets, and made into pizza toppings. Topped with California grown green peppers and tomatoes.
These people are such complete fools, it defies description.
Hard to believe the 2 CA Senators actually voted to bankrupt thousands of California families and businesses with this vote.
If the R's can't get one of these seats after this; something is very wrong.
Aren’t these lidtards the same folks who supported Cesar Chavez in support of the farm workers, that are now the majority of the 40% unemployed? The land grab idea is a good one. Who is John Galt?
How did that guppy population survive for all those years the pumps were turned on for the farmers?
It is worse than that. They are stealing valuable farm land like Mugabe did in Zimbabwe. The end result was famine.
The damned wannabe anchovies aren’t even native to the area anyway.
Bingo. This is about stealing land.
Hmm.
Sounds like a direct hit.
Time to take up arms and turn the pumps back on. I find it difficult to believe that it is not possible to screen the intakes at a distance from the pumps so the delta smelt don’t get sucked in.
Let’s see if the California RATs have the cojones to try to put down a people’s rebellion.
After these farmers are destroyed, bankrupted and forced to sell/give away very valuable land, I wonder which politician/big money contributors will “pick it up cheap?”
“It was basically a party line vote except for Snowe and Collins.
It appears that EVERY Demonrat voted NOT to turn the water back on. I suppose preserving the livilihood of all these farmers and the food supply for our nation is not important to these insane politicians. “
Thank you Jim DeMint, for trying! Snowe and Collins have to go.
Time for an eye exam.
Yopu need an eye exam also.
It has nothing to do with the delta smelt. that’s just a manufactured “issue”. These politicians know exactly what they are doing; driving farmers out of business and clearing the way for socializing the farm sector. Criminal economic takeover under the color of law.
Yep the 2 Super Rino Witches form Maine and Voino-Bitch are holding true to form.
I don't know why the Dummy-Crats are so concerned about a temporary appointment from Ma., for with those 3 regular turncoats, the R's would be hard pressed to EVER reach a 41 filibuster, vote!
This is a question I CONTINUALLY ask the libs and have never gotten any answer other than hemming and hawing much less any substantial explanation:
Considering the overwhelming number of RINO's in Congress, why is there not ONE DINO?
And no, the handful of "blue dog" DemoRats don't count as when push comes to shove, they will rarely buck their party, much less Pelosi and Reid!!!
“I seriously am concerned with logic. Why not create a fish farm with some stimulus money and restore the water to the farmers?”
The enviroextremists and some judges have ruled that fish farms are not ‘natural’.
Not until there are produce shortages and/or price increases. I believe Hannity said SanJoaquin supplies 40% of the tomatoes in the U.S. and 12% of the country's produce.
As usual, the state-run-media is missing in action. Here's another major strike against the SRM. They are truly vile.
Alexander and Voinovich also sold their souls too.
Obama is Mugabe 2. He hates whites like Mugabe as well.
“How did that guppy population survive for all those years the pumps were turned on for the farmers?”
The guppies now have civil rights, thanks to lawyers who run the enviro groups.
It is time for my sarcastic reminder to disgruntled conservatives who say “THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE between the 2 parites.”
Right. As if the Republicans would ever have shut down municipal water supplies for agribusiness over a bait fish.
Right. No difference between the Republicans and Rats. None. None whatsoever. Right. None.
Don’t make me laugh...
And to all of you who voted 3rd party, thank you all so much for Obama, Sotomayor and soaring food prices that will result from this asinine action. Thank you all so very much for your glorious, feel good protest votes. Yes, McCain would have been a half-liberal RINO himself, but not an out and out communist.
Exactly what I’ve been saying/wondering.
