Barack at the UN: Was this Obama’s most naïve speech ever?
telegraph.co.uk ^ | September 23, 2009 | Nile Gardiner

It’s always a bad sign when a US president gets several rounds of heavy applause at the UN General Assembly, as Barack Obama did this morning in New York. Needless to say, the loudest cheers from the gathering of world leaders came when he condemned the actions of a close US ally, Israel, in continuing to build settlements in the West Bank. You can always rely on attacks on the Israelis to generate the biggest roars of approval at any meeting of the United Nations, and Obama dutifully obliged.

This came from a Brit reporter in Washington. The American MSM still refuses to criticize the Messiah they put in office.

Kadafi today

In fact, he appreciates it so much that he urged the rest of the world to give America a break and move the United Nations elsewhere, such as Beijing or New Delhi.

“I don’t think there will be any objection to that,” he said, noting the expense of security.

“This place is a target,” Kadafi said. “Perhaps America will be targeted by a rocket. We want to relieve America of this worry.”

It may have been his most irresponsible speech yet.

“It’s only Wednesday. The week ain’t over.”

Brilliant! I forgot that each day he lowers the bar.

Therein lies the truth....
Naive? or calculated for subtle impact?
I think Obama is a sociopath who dares us to stop his reign of destruction. Try pointing out a fatal flaw and be mocked (teabaggers) or destroyed (racists).
Already 9 months into his administration and I don’t recognize this country.
This is no longer the “United” States of America.

Guilty.

US President Barack Obama speaks during the United Nations General Assembly at UN headquarters in New York. Obama sent a clear message to the world on Wednesday: he is looking for payback for his swift action in ending an era of swaggering US unilateralism. (AFP/Stan Honda)

Of course he does, he’s been groomed since childhood to do what he is doing to this country.

I agree with you he knew exactly what he was doing. Naive no — orchestrated yes. This sounded like a speech Ayers would give.

Frightening that intellectuals believe that Hussein is just naive.

Intellectuals are easy, if they believe you have any higher (relative) moral ground.

Not naive at all. He said exactly what he meant.

They're not mutually exclusive.

I was ready to vote No until I ran into this:

Obama outlining the four big international pillars of his presidency: ridding the world of nuclear weapons, the pursuit of peace, preserving the planet, and supporting “a global economy that advances opportunity for all people”.

Oh. My. God.

Mind you, this is in a roomful of people many of whom are in active pursuit of nuclear weapons, have no use for peace except in terms of crushing their enemies, approve of the Global Warming scam for the thin disguise of redistribution of wealth that it is (wealth which stands to come their way), and whose notion of global economy consists principally of robbery, the richer the victim the better, best of all the U.S.

What's not to like in all this? And it does explain so very much about the mess 0bama's made of U.S. foreign policy.

Muammar Qaddafi's speech, while the product of a diseased mind, is reflective of what the Islamic world thinks of the USA. At least Obama did not yet commit to the ICC. He did, however, lay the groundwork with his condemnation of Bush.

As you say, Obama means what he says and says what he means.
