Someone please tell me when in the known history of the world there was ever a nation named Palestine?When that area was a province of the Roman Empire, it was called Palaestina. When the British ruled that area as a mandate, they called it Palestine. So the name has been associated with that area for a long time. If you object to the name Palestine, what name do you think the Arabic-speaking population in that area should call itself?

Prior to the establishment of the modern state of Israel, the area was called Palestine.
