Andy Williams Inverts Rush Limbaugh: Barack Obama 'Wants the Country to Fail' By Brent Baker Created 2009-09-29 01:41
President Barack Obama “wants the country to fail,” legendary singer Andy Williams [1] declared in flipping Rush Limbaugh's hope that Obama “fails” in his quest to enact left-wing policies, a remark which enraged liberals and the media for weeks. In an interview published in the October 3-9 edition of Radio Times [2] magazine, the TV and radio program guide for the BBC which carries re-runs of Williams' 1960s NBC variety show, the 81-year-old Williams didn't hide his feelings about Obama: “Don't like him at all.”
London's Telegraph, in a September 28 article [3] highlighted by the DrudgeReport [4], quoted from the interview which is not online. Williams starkly denounced Obama's world view:
I think he wants to create a socialist country. The people he associates with are very left-wing. One is registered as a communist. Obama is following Marxist theory. He's taken over the banks and the car industry. He wants the country to fail.
The “registered communist” is presumably a reference to Van Jones.
Politically, Williams is best-known as a friend of Robert and Ethel Kennedy who was at the Ambassador hotel when Kennedy was assassinated and sang Battle Hymn of the Republic at Kennedy's funeral.
Williams may pop up elsewhere in the media as he promotes an October 5 performance in London, a new season of the “Andy Williams All-Star Variety Show [5]” at his “Moon River Theater [6]” in Branson, Missouri (followed by his annual Christmas show) and the mid-October release of his new book, Moon River and Me: A Memoir [7].
Let's hope interviewers prompt him to elaborate on his evaluation of Obama.

I have not heard President Obama say one positive thing about America or the presidents who preceeded him.
It’s all been “BUT NOW I’M HERE AND EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT.”
Tyrannical thug dictators (Chavez, Castro, Gaddafi) sing the praises of Obama.
He’s also sold out friendly nations like Honduras, Czech Republic, Poland, and Israel.
Have to question what team he’s on and how any of this can be good for America.
In Branson, that will be a badge of honor. I understand Mr. Williams does quite well with his theater, and I doubt his audience will be offended by the Obama remark. If anything, he’ll probably have to add shows during his next engagement in Branson.
In spite of what ever else he may or may not have been, JFK was a patriotic American who wanted the US to succeed, not fail. I didn't vote for him in 1960 and I wouldn't today if he and Nixon were running against each other again. But JFK and the vast majority of Democrats of the early '60s and the traitorous Marxist Democrats of today are two very different kettles of fish.
I know because I was there as a voter in that time and place, and I was very interested and involved in the politics of that era. The AmeriCa of 1960 and the AmeriKa of 2009 are as far distant from one another as day is from night.
The "establishment" of post-war America (post WWII) has lived to see the counterculture communists of the 1960s become the New Establishment. And it scares the s*** out of them what is being done to this country. This is "change", Kruschev was right, they ARE burying this nation.
Amen to that.
FWIW... I'm seeing more and more anti-Obama bumper stickers all over the northeast (New England, NY, NJ, PA). My husband has an IMPEACH OBAMA sign on the back of his car. We get some "democRAT salutes" and angry looks from Obamabots, but FAR more thumbs up lately.

The rise of the New Democrats began in 1968. Those rioting inside and outside of the 1968 convention and the media mouthpieces who supported them (and Eugene McCarthy) now pwn the DNC and MSM.
This is farther left than the Democrats of 1960.
Rush has quoted Democrats in the past to show they are on record admitting that bad news for America is good news for Democrats (at least in election years when they are out of power) and good news for America is bad news for Democrats.
I have to wonder too, ever panhandler I see now is not claiming “homeless, please feed me, God bless”. Now they have signs “Cancer”, “no insurance”. I have to wonder if they are looking for bigger handouts or if they are paid to stand out there by subversives wanting to promote Obamacare. I’m seeing 20 year college kids doing this medical begging (”for a parent or friend”).
They are still claiming that every naked communist and child molester on Obama's staff "wasn't properly vetted". I can say the same thing about our president.
He knows who comprises his inner circle. He's also shown that he's willing to throw people under the bus when it becomes politically expedient.
He's no Harry "the buck stops here" Truman (D).
Accolades from the press are worth nothing anyway. Recognizing the truth is everything.
I haven't seen the cancer signs yet, but all the panhandlers around here have the homeless signs you mentioned. I have even seen young couples with a suitcase standing on the corner with that sign.
Why so many would have the exact same sign raised red flags for me. I particularly liked the added 'God Bless'. Going for the 'guilt trip'?
