"Liberal jihadists say, 'Death to the Constitution.'
If they have to blow themselves up like the Islamic jihadists, each liberal gets 72 interns in paradise."

"The elected Republicans are scared to death of having happen to them what happened to Joe Wilson.
But even after all the campaign contributions Joe Wilson has received, they still don't see that there's
an army of people willing to back them up if they would just lead."

"With nationalized health care, if you're sick, you'll do anything -- especially if it involves your kids --
your government asks you to do.  The Road to Serfdom is paved in Obamacare, folks."

"It never ceases to amaze me that a nation founded on the notions of individual liberty, private property,
and limited government is currently being run by politicians who reject it all, but that is Barack Obama and this administration."

"Liberals believe that there are a handful of them smart enough to manage your life so that you don't keep screwing things up.
This is what the left really believes, but they're too power-hungry to risk having their political asses handed to them to be open and honest about it."

"Democrats look at the private sector as nothing other than an entity that provides them with the money they need to rule.
And, sadly, these people now control every branch of the government."

"There's nothing smart about what Obama is doing. He's a pure product of brainwashing.
His mentors hated this country, and one of them even tried to blow up the Pentagon."

"What do you see anywhere in the world where liberal Democrat socialists have total unchecked power to run things, be it a country, a city, or a state?
You see abject poverty.  Marxism and socialism create poverty. I know it's hard to believe that it's somebody's design, but it is."

"I have never had my intelligence insulted like it's been insulted with this entire health care debate.
Then again, the stimulus debate was almost as insulting."

"That's one of the great things about all these tea parties -- there's not an identifiable leader saying, 'Go here, do that.'
People are doing it on their own, of their own volition, because they don't want to lose their country."

"I've yet to meet a happy liberal.  They're angry, deranged lunatics, and they don't want to enjoy life.
I mean, if they become vegetarian, then everybody else must become one."

"The Democrat Party is obsessed not with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but the exact opposite -- they're the party of abortion and euthanasia."

"With Obama, we're dealing with somebody who has a chip on his shoulder, and it's been placed there from the moment he was born,
by the people who reared him, by the church he went to, and by his buddy, Bill Ayers."

"It won't be until 2013 that Obama's health care bill gets implemented (if it passes) because, if it gets implemented before 2012,
Obama will be beaten in a landslide. Actually, he still may be, ACORN notwithstanding."

"These Democrats don't give a rat's rear end about the democratic process or what you want.
It's all about the advancement of their agenda, and don't be fooled -- they're going to try to ram some health care thing through by any means possible."

"What the Democrats are plotting to pull off by next week will make the takeovers of General Motors and Chrysler look like a joke,
and once they've taken over the medical profession, guess who's going to get patronage jobs in all of these industries?  The union people."

"It's not going to matter whether you can or cannot pay -- or have coverage -- under the Democrats' health care bill.
What will matter is that all of us will become slaves to the arbitrary and inhumane decisions of distant bureaucrats working in Washington."

"When Obama and his people do finally speak out about the economy, they'll tell us that we're coming out of the recession.
That sound like compassion to you?"

Continually repeat ...

It's not about me.
I'm the President.

Don't Be Fooled:  Obama Isn't Naive
His ego is huge and everything he's doing is by design.
September 30, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Sarkozy. You know, we talked about him yesterday. Sarkozy is expressing all kinds of nervousness about Obama. Last night on Greta Van Susteren's show on Fox she spoke with Jack Kelly of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette who says that he has sources who have told him that Sarkozy has the same opinion of Obama that we do. Greta Van Susteren's question was, "Prior to this issue of Iran arising in Pittsburgh at the G20 and before that at the General Assembly at the UN, what was President Sarkozy's view of President Obama, and have they patched things up a little bit?"

KELLY: I have a friend who has -- one friend who is close to Sarkozy and another who is a member of France's external intelligence agency, and they both say that Sarkozy thinks that President Obama is incredibly naive and grossly egotistical, so egotistical that no one can dent his naivete, and he's very worried about what that means for the West, because the president of the United States is the leader of the free world, and if the president of the United States isn't going to lead the free world, it isn't going to be led.

RUSH: See, I go back and forth on this naivete business. I don't doubt that there's some naivete but I think that there's an incredible ego and hubris. But, see, I think all this is on purpose, from destroying the US economy, to creating as much welfare as possible, to creating as much dependence on government. I'm sorry to sound like a broken record on this, but I really don't believe it's naivete. I think that Barack Obama and the gang which spawned him have an active dislike for this country as founded. You can hear it in all of his speeches. Every time he goes around the world, apologizes for the United States, that speech at the United Nations, everybody says it's sophomoric, probably was in a strict analysis on the basis of content and so forth, but if you listen to several things about it, you find there's hardly any naivete there. He essentially said, "My country sucked, my country sucked, and every one of you in this body who thought the United States was a bad deal, you're right. But look at what we've done to change it in the last nine months, look how much it's better since I'm here."

I don't think that's naivete. It is certainly ego. But, folks, we're dealing with a guy who is out to destroy the whole concept of the West, western civilization, the West in terms of a geopolitical organization of nations, out to destroy it. We've never seen anything like this. Gore Vidal even says that we're headed toward a dictatorship soon in the United States of America and this is in the UK Times. He voted for Obama. Now, Gore Vidal himself is insane, but this nevertheless is quite instructive. Gore Vidal famously switched allegiance from Hillary to Barack Obama during the nomination process, and now in this interview he regrets his change of heart. "How’s Obama doing? 'Dreadfully. I was hopeful. He was the most intelligent person we’ve had in that position for a long time. But he’s inexperienced. He has a total inability to understand military matters. He’s acting as if Afghanistan is the magic talisman: solve that and you solve terrorism.'

"Another notable Obama misstep has been on healthcare reform. 'He [screwed] it up. I don’t know how because the country wanted it.' … America has 'no intellectual class' and is 'rotting away at a funereal pace. We’ll have a military dictatorship fairly soon, on the basis that nobody else can hold everything together. Obama would have been better off focusing on educating the American people.'" Now, this is in the women's section of the UK Times, the life and style section. But Gore Vidal, who himself is a left-wing lunatic, despite his lunacy is seeing the lunacy he's looking at when he looks at the White House. I guess it takes a lunatic to see a lunatic, to know one. See, the problem is, if Obama had more experience in the public or private sector, he never would have been elected president in the first place. The more we know, the more the myth of Obama fades. It was Obama's inexperience and platitudes that got him elected. It's his inexperience that's going to do great harm to the country and the world that we used to lead.

I think all the inexperience, all the naivete misses the point of what we're dealing with here. We're dealing with somebody who's got a chip on his shoulder, and it's been placed there from the moment he was born by people who reared him, by the church he went to, by his buddy Bill Ayers. If you just look at who his friends are, Valerie Jarrett, the Chicago machine, Richard Daley. Why is Obama off in Copenhagen? Now, there are many theories about this. Some people think, no, it's not in the bag, it's not in the bag, and Daley wants it. Daley made Obama, Daley opened up the machine to Obama, and Daley said you better get yourself over there and you better get this for me because I want all that money flowing in here for 2016. I need to keep going on my patronage and I need to get corruption -- you know the way the machine works. So Obama's been essentially ordered by Daley to get over there and get this done. That's one theory. Another theory is, it is done, and Obama's going over there just to accept the accolades and so forth. The theory being that he would not dare step foot in Copenhagen if there was a chance that Chicago would not be granted the 2016 Olympics.

Now, Michelle (My Belle) Obama arrived there this morning, two different airplanes. She flew her 757. He's going to fly the 747 tomorrow. A third 747 goes to provide communications over the Atlantic. All kinds of support people have to fly over in advance commercial, a bunch of military jets and cargo planes have to take the limousines and so forth, and this is not state business. It would be a mistake to focus on all the money that's being spent on this. Instead, they need to focus on the priorities and I really do believe, I thought about this, I really do think that it's not in the bag and I think that's why Daley ordered him to get over there. And Daley said, the mayor of Chicago, "Get yourself over there and you get this done." You owe us, is I think one of the things that's guiding this.

Mike, I'm going to interrupt what I told you about the sound bite order, because Gore Vidal says we really don't know who the guy is. Joe Klein said the same thing. Joe Klein, TIME Magazine, thinks that talk radio is the biggest problem facing America today. He was on MSNBC yesterday afternoon, Andrea Mitchell's show. She said, "We saw that even now with David Gregory on Meet the Press, any interview with Bill Clinton is just a rich mine of his knowledge, his assessments, his instincts. And I suspect that that's one of the reasons Obama had lunch with him in Greenwich Village two weeks ago to pick his brain." Now, these people are living in a fantasy world if they think that's why they had lunch together. But here's what Klein said.

KLEIN: He knows a lot. The other interesting thing is the contrast between these two men. Clinton is so wildly emotional and over the top, and Obama is so buttoned down. And it makes you realize how little we still know about President Obama, even after eight or nine months in office.

RUSH: Then what explains your slavish devotion to him, Joe, if so little is known about him? Joe, call me, I'll tell you everything you want to know about the guy, and I've never met him, and I've never covered him up close like you have, and I'll tell you everything you want to know. I'll tell you everything he's doing. And I'll be spot-on right. Let's go back to the archives. October 29th, 2008, Charlie Rose Show, PBS, he's talking to Tom Brokaw.

ROSE: I don't know what Barack Obama's worldview is.

BROKAW: No, I don't, either.

ROSE: I don't know how he really sees where China is.

BROKAW: We don't know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.

ROSE: I don't really know. And do we know anything about the people who are advising him?

BROKAW: Yeah, it's an interesting question.

ROSE: He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational (sic) speeches.

BROKAW: Two of them. I don't know what books he's read.

ROSE: What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?

BROKAW: There's a lot about him we don't know.

RUSH: Yeah, that was a couple days before the election, three or four days before the election, and Joe Klein says eight or nine months later we still don't know who the guy is. Call me, Joe. Send me an e-mail, Joe, I'll tell you exactly who Barack Obama is and what's headed for this country. It's right out there for everybody to see. It doesn't take a neophyte to understand his economic policies are not designed to improve things.

The Democrats' Secret Plan to Pass the Public Option by Next Thursday
The road to serfdom is paved by Obamacare -- and the Democrats have a scheme to make it law by next week.
September 30, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: "Government-Run Health Care by Next Thursday? -- The Washington Post front page blares today: 'Prospects for Public Option Dim in Senate.'" This is all because of the vote yesterday in committee. I got a bunch of e-mails from people last night. "Hey, Rush! Hey, Rush! It failed! It failed and they didn't tell you about it until after your show so you couldn't rip them to shreds." Don't be fooled, folks. "[T]he Senate Finance Committee did vote down two amendments that each would have added a government-run insurance plan to the committee's health care bill. But two key Democrats who voted against Sen. Jay Rockefeller's (D-WV) public plan, Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Tom Carper (D-DE), voted for Sen. Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) version.

"According to an independent analysis of Senate Democrat public statements on the public option, that raises the number of Democrats on record supporting a public option from 47 to 49. Moreover, Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA), chairmen of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee [said] that Democrats 'comfortably' have the remaining votes to reach 51 and pass a public plan once the debate moves to the House floor." Now, here's how this is going to happen. Brian Darling works at the Heritage Foundation. He's director of the US Senate relations at Heritage.

"President Obama and liberals in Congress seem intent on passing comprehensive health care reform, even though polls suggest it is unpopular with the American people," just like bringing the Olympics to Chicago and over half Chicago doesn't want the Olympics. But, you know, the small-R republican that defines this country, representative republic, it's gone. It's gone. We may as well have a semi-dictatorship now. We may as well have a semi-tyranny now. Because the small-R republican that defined this form of government has just been white-washed away. Here's how they're going to do this: "The Senate plans to attach Obamacare to a House-passed non-healthcare bill" that has nothing to do with health care. You say, "Well, Rush, how do they do that?"

Well, they can do anything they want. "[N]obody knows what that legislation looks like, because it has not yet been written. Yet many members plan to rubber-stamp Obamacare without reading or understanding the bill. The Senate Finance Committee worked furiously last week to mark up a 'conceptual framework' of health care reform. The committee actually rejected an amendment by Sen. Jim Bunning (R.-Ky.) to mandate that the bill text and a final cost analysis by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) be publicly available at least 72 hours before the Finance Committee votes on final passage. The following four-step scenario describes one way liberals plan to work the rules in their favor to get Obamacare through the Senate: Step 1: The Senate Finance Committee must first approve the marked-up version of Sen. Max Baucus' (D.-Mont.) conceptual framework.

"Then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) can say that two Senate Committees have passed a health care bill," Baucus' committee and Harkin's committee, the HELP committee. So you'll have two Senate Committees which have passed the bills "which will allow [Reid] to take extraordinary steps to get the bill on the Senate floor. During the mark-up last week, members had difficulty offering amendments and trying to make constructive changed because they lacked actual legislative text and Baucus made unilateral last minute changes. For example, the AP reported that 'under pressure from fellow Democrats, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee decided to commit an additional $50 billion over a decade toward making insurance more affordable for working-class families.'

"Step 2," after the two Senate bills have been introduced on the floor, "Sen. Reid will take the final product of the Senate Finance Committee and merge it with the product of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, which passed on a party-line vote in July." So the two health care bills in the Senate will be merged into one. Now, "Usually, a bill is voted out of committee, and then the Senate takes up the final product of the committee so that all 100 senators can have a hand in the process. With some help from the Obama administration, Reid [alone] will decide what aspects of the HELP and Finance Committee bills to keep." They're going to merge this, actually take what Harry Reid and Obama want from the two Senate bills. Then, when that's done, "Step 3: Now, Obamacare will be ready to hitch a ride on an unrelated bill from the House. Sen. Reid will move to proceed to H.R. 1586, a bill to impose a tax on bonuses received by certain TARP recipients. This bill was passed by the House in the wake of the AIG bonus controversy..." So let me stop right there, because it's there's another step after this to explain how this is all going to happen.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Let me see if I can synthesize this and make the complex understandable. They want to get a health care bill to Obama next week. They don't want to have to go through the 60-vote requirement and they really don't want to go through reconciliation because there's been enough education now that people know reconciliation is only used for budget items, the rules prevent it for anything else. But they want to get this health care bill through because they're losing on the issue with the American people, they don't want any more debate about it. So they've got two bills in the Senate. They got Harkin's bill, they got Baucus' bill, two different committees. Harry Reid is going to take the parts of both of these bills that he likes and merge them, come up with one bill and take it to the Senate floor. Now, after they've got their health care bill to the Senate floor, as you know the House has to do something on this as well. The House health care bill hasn't passed. But there is a bill in the House that's been collecting dust over there that has passed, it's sitting around. The Senate hasn't taken any action on that bill. That is a bill that imposes a tax on bonuses received by certain TARP recipients. That was passed by the House in the wake of the AIG bonus controversy.

So you have the House bill, and that's what Harry Reid wants to attach the merged Senate bill to. You say, "Well, how do they get them health care?" Stand by. That's the complex being made understandable here right before your very eyes and ears. Now, this move to proceed at this point does require 60 votes to start the debate. After the motion is approved, Senator Reid will offer Obamacare as a complete substitute to the unrelated House passed bill, with the cooperation of Pelosi. The House is not being left out of this. This is all part of the stratagem. What this means is that the entire health care reform effort will be included as an amendment to the TARP bill that has been collecting dust in the Senate for months because the House passed it long ago, the Senate hasn't taken any action on it so Reid is going to merge these two health care bills, attach it to the TARP bill basically as an amendment and then have the TARP bill passed, the bonus bill passed in the Senate. Now, for this strategy to work, it's not smooth sailing. It's not like a hot knife through butter. The proponents here would need to hold together the liberal caucus of 58 Democrats, including Paul Kirk, who was named to replace Senator Kennedy, and Lieberman and Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

These members will all have to hold hands and vote against any filibuster. And that still remains the big obstacle for them. Once the Senate takes up the bill, after they've got the 60 votes to start debate, it doesn't take 60 more votes to pass it. Once debate has started, once they got the 60 votes to get going, after that all they need is 51 votes to pass it. And it's possible that one of the endangered moderate Democrats like Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas could vote to stop a filibuster, then vote against Obamacare so as not to offend any angry constituents. So that's going to be a big thing to watch. And by that very little of this is going to be happening publicly. A lot of this is behind the scenes. You're going to wake up one day, if all this goes as Reid and Pelosi and Obama have it planned, you're going to wake up one day and find out that they've all voted on single payer health care with a public option in it. And you'll say, "Wait a minute, what happened to the House bill?" The House bill is the TARP bill. And the Senate health care bill becomes an amendment to it. Then you go to conference, everybody accepts it, signs off on it.

Once the Senate passes their bill, with their version of the bonus bill, sends it to the House, all the House would have to do is pass it without any changes. And Obama will then present it with his health care reform measure. If this doesn't work, then they're going to have to go back to reconciliation to pass the legislation. So they've still got some things in their way. It's not smooth sailing, but this is the plan. And, of course, one of the things that we say here, all we have to do in the House is just have them pass the bill without any changes, that's going to be tough because the House has its own renegades over there, and it's got, you know, Congressional Black Caucus and all these disparate groups who might not like everything in the Senate bill, the Senate bill might not have enough in it to satisfy them. So it's not smooth sailing. But what the point here is to give you a sense of the anti-American public sentiment that is fueling the passage of this bill. They know, Harry Reid and Pelosi both know that if they conduct the debate and produce the legislation in the standard way, that they won't have a bill by Christmas, they won't have a bill by next year, if they do it in normal circumstances.

But if they play rule games and parliamentary rule games and actually have the health care bill sent to Obama be a bill that taxes bonuses paid to TARP recipients that has an amendment, health care reform, they think that this is a way to get it done surreptitiously without a whole lot of people knowing what is going on. And if they do it this way you are now informed and advised and you will have a big say-so in stopping this. But the point here, folks, the small-R representative republic here, nothing to do with the Republican Party, it's out the window. These leftists, these Democrats don't give a rat's rear end about the democratic process or what you want. This is all about the advancement of their agenda. And don't be fooled. Don't be fooled. They're going to try to ram something through by any means possible. They're going to conceal the true nature of it. If they get away with this, they're going to tell you that they're finally taking action on taxing the bonuses of these rich elitist Wall Street types, and they think that the class envy that they've created will have universal acceptance on the part of the American people, "Oh, yeah, tax those AIG bonuses, tax everybody else's bonuses." That's what they're going to do. It's going to be a feint and a misleading thing.

This is how Harry Reid's going to drive the whole legislation back to the House, and this is essentially what reconciliation is all about. In one move -- and they're targeting next week to get this done -- in one move the US Congress will take over hospitals, will take over laboratories, will take over the medical profession, will take over the insurance companies. What they are planning, let me point it out to you in an even more understandable fashion. What they are plotting and hope to pull off by next week will make the takeovers of General Motors and Chrysler look like a joke. And once they've taken over the hospitals, the labs, the medical profession, the insurance companies, guess who's gonna get patronage jobs in all these industries? The union people, particularly the SEIU union people. The Harry Reid, Pelosi, Obama plan comes down to this. The Democrats are scheming against the American people, as they have been all along. The Obama administration, starting with the campaign, was a scheme against the American people and against the traditions and institutions that have defined this country's greatness.

I know I say that like a broken record. But it takes repetition. The Obama administration is a scheme. The Obama campaign was a scheme. There's not going to be any tort reform in this, just window dressing. And the purpose will be to siphon money from taxpayers and doctors and hospitals to the trial lawyers, who in turn will load up Democrat coffers with contributions. And during every election cycle, the Democrats using the power of government will reward those who support them and deny those who don't support them with any benefits. In the end, this is going to drive the nation into poverty, it is going to drive the nation into disunity, but by the time that happens -- this is not going to happen overnight -- by the time that happens the current crop of leftists and radicals engineering all this will be gone. They don't care about the nation's future and your children. They care about them now and changing and remaking this country in their image and getting it done in such a way that rolling it back will be difficult, if impossible to do.

Folks, it's this simple. Take it or leave it. Marxism, socialism, statism generally creates poverty. You want to hear something funny? Kim Jong-il has decided that communism doesn't work. He's taken the word "communism" out of the North Korean constitution and replaced it with "socialism." I don't care where you go, whatever they call themselves, progressives -- go to Detroit -- what do you see in Detroit? Abject poverty. What do you see in most of Michigan? Abject poverty. What do you see where liberal Democrat socialists anywhere in the world have total unchecked power to run things, be it a country or be it a city or be it a state? You see abject poverty. Marxism, socialism, create poverty. I know it's hard to believe that this is somebody's design. But it is. Somebody who thinks this is an immoral and unjust country, this country deserves to live like the rest of the world, the rest of the world lives in poverty because of us. This is what Obama believes. Obama believes we've stolen the riches of the world, that we have used our imperialism to dominate the world and we're unjust and immoral. If he could rip up that Constitution he would do it. He doesn't like it. It's an obstacle. It is a problem.

If you don't believe me on this, try this. I don't know if you've heard about this. Pat Leahy and John Conyers -- Leahy in the Senate, Conyers in the House -- are pushing a bill through Congress that will create 63 new federal judgeships. There's only one reason for that. Load up the judiciary with more leftists who will ensure that the policies this Congress and this president pass today will be forever upheld within the law. You heard of Roosevelt stacking the Supreme Court? These guys are stacking the federal judiciary. Sixty-three new federal judgeships. The goal of all of this is to smother the individual. The individual, you will be so busy working your way through the maze of rules that are imposed on you in this health care business and everything else that you won't have time to think for yourself. Make no mistake about this. This is all aimed at robbing you of your humanity and forcing you to bow down to the state. If you feel sick, need a procedure, need a prescription, you're going to be thinking about the government. Who do I see? What do they want me to do for it? Where do I go? What do I have to do to have my treatment approved?

In other words, you are going to be relying on government for your survival. That's never happened before in this country outside of national security and natural disaster contexts, this has never happened before. From now on you're going to need your government's permission to get well. Even if there are people who can medically help you, even if there are technologies and drugs that can help you, you're still going to need permission from the government, some bureaucrat, before you can make use of them, because some bureaucrat's going to tell a doctor somewhere or a hospital whether or not you qualify for treatment. This is the ultimate power over you and your family. You will do anything your government says, you'll do anything you must if it's a life or death scenario, and especially if it involves your kids, your kids have a sickness, you'll do anything your government asks you to do. The Road to Serfdom, to steel the title of a great book by Friedrich Von Hayek, The Road to Serfdom is paved in Obamacare that they want on his desk for signature by next week.

It's not going to be a matter of whether you can or cannot pay. It won't be a matter of whether you have coverage or don't have coverage. What will matter is that all of us will be slaves, we'll become slaves to the arbitrary and inhumane decisions of distant bureaucrats working in Washington where there's no competition. Nobody you can go to if you don't like what you hear from the bureaucrats that you have to deal with. If you want to take a close look at it, listen to those and those in this administration and those who run Congress what they're saying about 9.7% unemployment and over 52% youth unemployment. What are you hearing about that? Nothing. You're not hearing a word. You're not hearing a word about the dismal economy, other than, "It's going to be bad for a while, but we're working on it, stimulus is working, working better than we ever imagined." Obama flies off to make some pitch for the Olympics. When he and his people do finally speak about the economy they tell us we're coming out of the recession. Sound like compassion to you?

RUSH: Now, we've all heard the question asked, and we've all asked the question of members of Congress, "Hey, are you going to sign up? Are you going to sign up yourself and your family to the same health care plan you're putting us into?" There's no way that's going to happen, but wait until you hear this. You don't know the half of their health care plan and options and treatment. You don't know the half of it. I'm going to get to that at the top of the next hour. What you need to know -- and I'm sure you do, you just need to be reminded of this. The same people pushing government health care are the same people who have driven the finances of this nation over the cliff. From the Community Redevelopment Act; Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac; trillions in red ink for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security; they have lied repeatedly about what they're doing what they can do.

And yet they promise yet again to cover everybody for everything at all times, while also insisting they're going to cut costs, cut waste, and be more efficient -- when they've never, ever done it in the history of the country! It's never happened. It's the height of folly; it's a triumph of emotion over common sense, for people in this country to believe that something that has never happened can happen. It's easier to believe that something that has happened can happen again than to believe that something that's never happened can happen. There's never been a major, serious government program that cut costs, that cost less than what they said it was gonna cost, that expanded freedom -- and, in the final analysis, that actually worked! It never ceases to amaze me that a nation founded on the notion of individual liberty, private property, limited government, is run by politicians now who reject it all. That is, they reject the very principles about which the nation was established.

That is Barack Obama and his administration. That is Barney Frank. That is Harry Reid. They're too cowardly to say so openly. They're too cowardly to say, "You know what? The Constitution is bad. It sucks. The federal government needs more power. The private sector should exist for the sole purpose of funding government." That's what they believe. They don't have the guts to say it. You ought to be happy, they believe, that there are a handful of them smart enough to manage your lives so that you don't keep screwing things up. This is what the left really thinks. This is what the left really believes. But they're too cowardly to just say it. They're too power-hungry to risk having their political asses handed to them, which they would. If they were ever open and honest about their plans they would have their political asses handed to them, and it would be the end of the Democrat Party. Let me say what needs to be said, whatever the consequences. The consequences have never stopped me before. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Frank, and the rest of them do not like this country as constituted. They do not like the Constitution. They do not like the private sector. They do not like individual rights. Their every action and policy is aimed at diminishing all of that. They hate the military, of course, but I'm talking about fundamental principles of liberty, property, limited government. They reject it completely. It's right in front of our eyes to see it, we just have to have the courage to admit it. They are killing the private sector right in front of our eyes. They know it. They're breaking the states. They're all in debt. They know it. They're smothering individual initiative and opportunity, and they know it. It's about our freedom, folks.

Leftists Attack Sarah Palin's Book Before It's Even Printed!
They had no interest in who really wrote Obama's book.
September 30, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: New York Post, Page Six today, which admittedly is a gossip column, but nevertheless, the headline: "Sarah's Lectures a Tough Sell." Now, this sort of dovetails with what I was telling you yesterday, that the Democrats and the media will always tell us who they fear. They'll always tell us who they're really, really worried about, and they are on a mission that is unstoppable to destroy this woman and her family. "Sarah Palin is said to have pocketed a $7 million advance for the 400-page memoir she turned in four months early, but she might not have such an easy time on the lecture circuit. After quitting as governor of Alaska in July, Palin signed with the top-notch Washington Speakers Bureau. … Palin's bookers are said to be asking for $100,000 per speech, but an industry expert tells Page Six: 'The big lecture buyers in the US are paralyzed with fear about booking her, basically because they think she is a blithering idiot.'"

Really, is that right? The people that signed her, the people that represent her, the big lecture buyers, paralyzed with fear about booking her, they think she's a blithering idiot? "Many big lecture venues are subscription series, 'and they don't want to tick people off,' said our source. 'Palin is polarizing, and some subscribers might cancel if she's on the lineup.' Other lecture buyers are universities, which have a leftist slant, and corporations, which dislike controversy. 'Palin is so uninteresting to so many groups -- unless they are interested in moose hunting,' said our insider. 'What does she have to say? She can't even describe what she reads.' Palin likely quit as governor just months after losing the election as John McCain's vice-presidential running mate because of money. 'She knew that if she waited until her term ended in 2010, these opportunities would be gone,' said a source. 'She would have lost millions by staying in office.'"

Now, her book, 400 pages, she admits that she's got a ghostwriter. Obama did not admit that he had a ghostwriter and it's beginning to look like he did. The American Thinker has run two pieces now on how Bill Ayers wrote Dreams from My Father, or one of the two books. There have been examinations in the styles. Obama failed at writing anything prior to that. We've never seen anything else he's written but those two books. There have been a lot of people doing research into this, and the American Thinker's published a couple stories about it recently. But nevertheless Palin's book is number three on Amazon right now and it hasn't even been printed. Number three on Amazon, hasn't even gone to press yet. She turned it in four months early and we get this story in Page Six, "What a blithering idiot, nobody wants to book Palin for a lecture series." Well, they did in Hong Kong and from everything we read about it, it was a bang-up speech. They're just paranoid of this woman.

Here's Andrew Sullivan at TheAtlantic.com: "'400 Pages In Four Months.' -- That's Sarah Palin's achievement for Jonathan Burnham, who runs the marketing company, Harper Collins. Several questions naturally arise. Did she actually write those 400 pages? Please. … She wrote that book as thoroughly as she wrote her speech in Hong Kong. The book was written by a hardcore Christianist; the speech by a hardcore neocon. She remains the hood ornament for a marketing campaign that now passes for the conservative movement. The title itself lets us know that if anyone harbored any doubts about her own view of that disastrous campaign, she is immensely proud of it."

Meanwhile, we're being told how brilliantly smart Barack Obama is. Even Gore Vidal is out there, "I thought he was really intelligent," as though that is the number one deciding factor. On what basis did anybody think he's intelligent? Because he sounds it? I remember back in the early days of this program we had a sponsor called Verbal Advantage and it was a program that was designed to increase your vocabulary. And I remember one of the ways I used to sell this program to people in the on-air commercial was: your vocabulary can go a long way into masking your ignorance. The more words you know, the better able you are to use them, the more intelligent you are going to sound to people whether you are or aren't. We've got more intelligent stupid people in this country, and Obama is one of them. He has risen to every height he has risen to in the greatest country on earth, a country that he resents. There's nothing smart about what Obama is doing.

He's a pure product of brainwashing. His mentors, who hated this country, one of them even tried to blow up the Pentagon, proud of it. His other mentor, this black liberationist preacher, ginning up hatred for this country for 20 years, while Obama sits there and listens to it while telling us he never heard it. You know, Obama also claimed to have had a health care bill and he claimed to have written his Dreams from My Father autobiography. This dreams issue, who wrote his book, is now being discussed openly. American Thinker has had two pieces in the past two days that hammer away on the deception that he wrote the book. It was Bill Ayers, many people conclude, who wrote the book, and who's Bill Ayers? Radical, communist, domestic terrorist? None of these descriptions denied by Ayers, by the way. In fact, Professor Ayers is proud of this trifecta of anti-Americanism.

British and Canadian writers are picking up on the fact that Obama did not write the book Obama boasts he has written with his own hand. Bill Ayers wasn't just a guy in the neighborhood. This was a significant and easily proven lie -- apparently! So this is a fraud, it's a telling and it's an important fraud, and it goes back to the heart of the Obama myth, which was reignited by Christopher Andersen's new best-seller, Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage. Andersen's book inadvertently continued the erosion of the myth of Obama. The One is not who or what he says he is, he lies. Obama claims he has not a gift. He does. But it isn't the gift of original thought or creating win-win solutions for partisans. Barack Obama is a gifted liar, like all community agitators are. Community organizing is a lie. The amount of time Barack "I have a gift" Obama has been on TV has not advanced his planned takeover of health care because Obama doesn't possess a gift like he promised to Harry Reid.

To get this health care passed, they're going to have to do it despite us. His gift at selling and, "Oh, I have a gift, Harry." If Obama genuinely had a gift, 80% of America would be clamoring for health care, they would want it now. He doesn't have it. He's got the same gift that Bernie Madoff had, an ability to tell and sell a convincing lie and an unyielding authoritarian determination to advance greedy, power-grabbing lies that ultimately destroy people's lives. Just like his health care bill. He does not have a health care bill. He cannot produce one that he has written. And apparently he doesn't have an autobiography that he's written, either, if Christopher Andersen and others who have looked into this are correct.

RUSH: On the Barnes & Noble website, Sarah Palin's book is not set to be released for more than seven weeks but it has shot to #1 at Barnes & Noble. That puts it atop Dan Brown's new book and a book by Mitch Albom. It's #3 on Amazon. And the book is not out for seven weeks! Folks, this is going to drive them nuts. You know, the book publishing industry is notoriously leftist. It's going to drive everybody batty. I said yesterday -- 'cause I got some snarky note. "How're you going to feel, Rush, when she sells more books than you do?" I hope she sells five million copies because I want to see lunatics jump off the cliff! (laughing) They just can't stand it!

Susan in Glendale, California: Her Passion Speaks for Millions
September 30, 2009

AUDIO:  Listen to it for Free: WMP | RealPlayer

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: All right, Susan in Glendale, California, nice to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Rush, it's a huge honor for me to speak to you, and I hope I can keep my -- my voice level, because I am so passionate. I am as passionate as you are about this country. I'm a conservative. I've listened to you for 25 years. I'm married. I have seven kids. And when you were telling me about how all of the shenanigans that they're going to do in the Senate to pass two different Senate bills then slam 'em together, attach them to some House bill about TARP, and then jam it through and jam it down our throats, I got furious. And then I listened to what you said about the Michigan mom who was watching some kids before they went to school and how the Michigan state came down on her accusing her of running an illegal day care, and you're right: What they're going to do is they're going to threaten our health and they're going to threaten the health of our children. If I don't comply with their health care, I'm not going to be able to get my children the medicine they need.

RUSH: No, it's not -- whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. It's not if you don't comply with their health care. It's if you're a good citizen in support of the liberals running the country.

CALLER: Yes, sir. And I'm not. I'm a conservative. You know what? I'm 45. I might fall and break my hip in the next ten years. They're going to have to give me a shot because they're not going to want me to be healed and they're going to do this to my children. It's like you said. They are the party of abortion. They are the party of euthanasia. They are trying to wipe out senior citizens who are maybe not as useful to the Democrat National Committee as they should be, we're not contributing enough to them. And I am outraged and furious. And my question to you -- because I'm a political nobody; I'm just out here on the Left Coast in la-la land watching all the liberals run our California state bankrupt -- is: "What can we do, legally, morally, to take this country back?" I want people to stand up, and I want them to vote these criminals, these pedophiles out of office.

I want them to take back the state of California and make it a Golden State, and I want them to take back Washington. But we're little people, and we marched two million of us down to Washington and the press -- ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC -- not one of them shows pictures on the news, not one of them will report anything. In fact, they cover it up! I've talked to so many people on the phone, just neighbors who are liberal and some of them are conservative, both sides, and I tell them these things. "Go to Fox News. Look at this." No one sees the truth. But the travesty of all of this -- part of this is politics as normal, independent, it's two party. We're going to fight and tussle over what's right and wrong and, you know, we're going to win some, lose some. But the damning thing today is that the press, the press is betraying us and we have no way -- us, we be the little political moms, nobodies. I'm a mother, and I have no one to listen to, to go to on the news, except for you and Fox.

Tell us what we can do in 2010, other than voting for Sarah Palin. Which I will do. But I need to know because I don't have much hope. I sure don't have hope from Obama. I need hope from Rush and I want you to please tell us what we can do, because this is the life of my children. They're on the line. They can put me out to pasture, but, yes, they've got me over a barrel. Because I will do anything to save the lives of my children, even if it means I've gotta kiss some big Democrat's rear end to get the health care for my baby, I'll have to do it, and that sickens me because they're my employees. I'm paying their salaries. I'm paying for their fancy office of doctors down where you were talking about at the House of Representatives and the Senate. They just get to walk in and pay $503 and they get all the health care that they need for $503, specialists flown in.

The pharmacy right there on their hour! Probably open 24 hours a day. Nobody has to wait. They get that because I'm paying for it. I'm paying for it! It's coming out of my children's allowances, my grocery money. They are getting it, and they're taking it without listening, without representing us -- like you said, the small R. I'm not being represented. I've called Boxer's office. I've called Adam Schiff who is my so-called representative. They are very polite to little people on the phone but the people who are running this country don't listen to us. There are millions of us and we are all furious. And no one, no one is even reporting what is being said! And I'm watching my country that I love, that my father fought for in World War II, that my father-in-law was wounded and got the Purple Heart for -- and I'm watching it just being taken, just like candy from a baby.

"Oh, we'll help you. We'll give you health care. Here's a lollipop. Go away," and nobody's doing anything. I'm sorry to be so angry, but I need hope, and I need to know how to counteract these's shenanigans. This is not what we put people in government for is to run little, bitty side bills, smash 'em together, and then vote 'em under the carpet into a different health care bill that is languishing in some committee that they haven't voted on. That's dirty politics and it shouldn't be happening. It should up-and-down votes. And you're right. The 63 new judges coming on, that's going to cement -- that's going to absolutely cement -- their ability to write law instead of legislate. They can just send it to the judges. The judges will rubber stamp it. We'll have liberal judges, we'll just write the law. Never mind conservatism. Never mind reading what the law actually says. I look at this, and I see this happening every day.

I'm listening to you, and I'm to the point where I don't even know if I should listen anymore because I'm so passionate and I'm so furious to watch all this and to hear it all happening, and I feel so powerless for the first time in my life. I'm glad Mrs. Obama is proud of her country for the first time in her life. I, as a mother, as a nobody I am ashamed of my government for the first time in my life -- and I need to know how to combat this, especially in 2010. What can I do today, now, to help, to revitalize these namby-pamby liberal Republican RINOs in our Senate and in our government who are just voting to get along and "I want to get reelected." That's nonsense. They're not standing up for what is good and clean and right. They're not standing up for our Constitution. They should be all thrown out, every last one of them -- and I don't know how to mobilize people, but you do, Rush. You do! You have the power. And with great gifts, God gives great responsibility. And I beg you please, please give us hope and lead us. Because this cannot stand. They cannot keep doing this. This is wrong.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: We still have Susan on the line from Glendale, California, and Susan, I was under no inclination to interrupt you or stop you, even when we got to the segment end.

CALLER: I apologize.

RUSH: No, don't apologize, just the exact opposite. You summarized my first hour in ten minutes.

CALLER: Well, I like to listen to you, you're great, and you always give us the facts.

RUSH: But you asked me what you could do.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: One thing you have to realize, you just did it. The passion and the emotion that you brought without one stutter --

CALLER: Well --

RUSH: You didn't lose your train of thought. There was not one stutter. And I guarantee you the people in this, the largest radio audience in the country, are all out there standing up and cheering on their feet.

CALLER: You know what, Rush? I did it without a teleprompter! Or notes! So there.

RUSH: Or a writer. You didn't have a ghostwriter.

CALLER: No, I didn't. I have a three-year-old son, but he can't do this. But I didn't use a teleprompter, and I know what I'm saying, which is, I'm sorry, perhaps more than I can say for some of the people who are running our country. And it insults my intelligence. I walked away from a very good job at a law firm, I'm educated, I have a law degree, and I did it because I was promoted by God to be a mother of seven. I'm giving everything I've got to them. And the one thing I cannot give them, absent help from good people all over this country, I can't give them the American way of life. I can't give them freedom. I can't give them that. I can teach them and that's all I can do. But everybody's got to stand up, and, you know what? Why don't you make 2010 the worst nightmare ever for the Democrats. Pick up the phone, call Sarah Palin, and you two run, run in 2010. Rush and Sarah. Do it. They would go nuts. I know you couldn't do your show every day. And I know there are not enough Democrat women like Pelosi in the Senate to give you your 30 minutes of aerobic activity because there's no boobs to ogle like you were telling about that German study finding that ten minutes of breast ogling helps men, but we'll get you a treadmill in there, I'm sure the White House will have a treadmill, it's got a basketball court now and other things and an organic garden. We'll get you set up, we'll keep you healthy, maybe once you judge the Miss America contest, maybe you could do that every year, and that would give you a good cardiovascular burst. And you could go ahead and run the country for four years. But we gotta do something.

RUSH: Well, one thing I want to tell you here is, you are not alone. I know you feel it, you said it --

CALLER: I do.

RUSH: -- you feel you're just a little person out there on the left coast and you're overwhelmed by all this, but I think you should try to understand that the majority of people who pay attention to stuff in this country are with you on this. Their frustration is identical to yours.

CALLER: Yes, but they don't know how to mobilize to do it, to stop it. We're going to have this health care bill rammed down our throats before the election.

RUSH: Wait a second, now. I think they do. People have been mobilizing on their own. That's one of the great things about all the tea parties and the other things going on, is there's not an identifiable leader saying, "Go here, do that, I want you to show up."

CALLER: I know.

RUSH: People are doing it on their own, of their own volition, their own emotion, because they're just like you --

CALLER: I know.

RUSH: -- they don't want to lose the country, they don't want to see it taken over, they don't want to see it destroyed this way, especially for their children and grandchildren, and there are more of you than you know. Now, this health care thing, you talk about 2010. If they're able to ram this through in the next couple of weeks or the next couple of months --

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: -- 2010 is going to be nothing but punishment.

CALLER: I hope so.

RUSH: Now, the one thing to keep in mind here, the one thing to keep in mind is -- I'm actually wrong. I need to take that back. This bill is not going to be implemented until 2013.

CALLER: Right. Right.

RUSH: So 2010 is crucial. That's where the real change is going to come, and that's throwing these Democrats out, as many as possible.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Now, there are two things that I want to say to you here. The reason that 2013 is the year is because everybody in charge of this plan, from Obama to Reid and Pelosi, all the Democrats know full well there's going to be a revolt.

CALLER: Yes. I know they know this. They're just trying to lock it in anyway.

RUSH: Well, no --

CALLER: -- because they want to secure their power.

RUSH: But 2012 is Obama's reelection year, 2013 it gets implemented. If it got implemented before 2012 Obama would be beaten in a landslide --

CALLER: That's right.

RUSH: -- and he still may be, ACORN notwithstanding.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: The second thing here about all of these things that are happening, and you feel powerless to do anything about it, I think what's happening throughout the country is an illustration that people are not powerless. This passion, this emotion that you represent here today that is felt by millions will have and is going to have an outlet. These techniques, the things that are being tried by the Democrats here are so against the decency and grain of the vast majority of the people in this country --

CALLER: That's what's offensive.

RUSH: -- they're not going to put up with it.

CALLER: I know. That's what's offensive --

RUSH: They aren't going to put up with it.

CALLER: It's not just politics as usual. It's not, "Okay, we win some and we lose some." This is underhanded, dirty dealing, "Okay, we're going to vote for one bill, but we're going to switch it, we're going to edit it out." It's like a computer, you just zap it out and stick something in, but the vote doesn't get edited. It's virtual bills. We just get to change it. It's outrageous. If I did this in a job, I would be fired. And yet they keep doing it and we've got to hold them accountable.

RUSH: And trust me, believe me, they will be.

CALLER: I know you're right. That's why I listen to you every day I can.

RUSH: I will tell you when it's time to panic. And it isn't time to panic. Panic doesn't lead to productive action.

CALLER: True.

RUSH: I'll tell you when it's time. What you're feeling right now is not even panic.

CALLER: No, it's rage. It's outrage.

RUSH: You are outraged and you want a positive channel for it.

CALLER: Yes, I do. I want a positive way to effect and reclaim this country and to protect my children and to give them a good life.

RUSH: Here's the second thing that I want to warn everybody against with all this passion. Because in this mix you and I haven't discussed the Republican Party, have we?

CALLER: No, we haven't.

RUSH: Well, let's do that for just a second, because it's crucial. While your rage, your outrage is properly directed at the architects of this disaster, the Democrat Party, at the same time, we don't really see a lot of rage from our own elected representatives, do we? This is one of the reasons why --

CALLER: This is why we're mad, 'cause they're not outraged.

RUSH: That's right.

CALLER: They don't say anything, they don't do anything.

RUSH: If you can call this radio show and in ten minutes, without one stutter, lay out the very dire threats that face this country, why in the hell can't professional politicians stand up and say the same thing and take action to stop it?

CALLER: Amen.

RUSH: And that's really the level of your frustration.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Now, here's where this is going to lead. If we're not careful, this is going to lead people to start saying, "We need a third party."

CALLER: No. No, no, no, no.

RUSH: Wait, hear me out. It's going to lead to people say, "Both parties are the same, there's no difference, Republicans and Democrats." What we have to focus on here is taking back the Republican Party. I think there is enough rage right now, and if it sustains itself, and it will, Obama's not going to stop any of this garbage, and the Democrats are not going to stop, so it will sustain itself.

CALLER: And we have to take back the party and revitalize it --

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: -- with true conservatives.

RUSH: Exactly. That's what has to happen. But at some point just voting against people is not enough.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: It will be enough in 2010. But who we gonna elect in place of them? Where are the candidates going to come from?

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: I'm talking particularly now the House and the Senate. I mean you talked about the RINOs in the Senate, and there are a lot of them, and they're scared to death of the media in Washington, they're scared to death of being called racists, they're scared to death of having happen to them what happens to Sarah Palin. They're scared to death of having happen to them what happened to Joe Wilson. So they've got their own fear they have to overcome. They don't understand that they've got an army of people. Even after all the campaign contributions Joe Wilson got, they still don't see there's an army of people willing to back 'em up if they would just lead. There's an army of people ready to follow 'em.

CALLER: I gave Joe Wilson money. The minute he said it, the very night that he said "you lie," I sent that guy money. And when he refused to apologize for a second time, when he'd already apologized personally to President Obama, and when he refused to do it again for the House and Senate, I sent him more money.

RUSH: 'Kin' A!

CALLER: And that's what we gotta do. We gotta back the people who are being leaders, and then we gotta kick out the ones who aren't. But we can't do a third party, we can't do a tea party because we'll be locked in with the Democrats, they'll run the show because we'll keep splitting the vote for 30 years.

RUSH: 'Kin' A! Exactly right. That's going to lead to permanent victory for Democrats.

CALLER: I know! How do you tell people this? How do you say, "Whatever you do, vote conservative and get the Republican Party back."

RUSH: Okay, we're always going to have Perotistas.

CALLER: Yes, I remember him.

RUSH: All you gotta say to them, "Have you ever heard of Bill Clinton?"

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: You ever heard of Bill Clinton?

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: That's something coming in the future, but this notion that both parties are the same and we gotta throw 'em all out, unrealistic, they're not the same, there's no way that any Republican would be offering any of the things the Democrats are offering right now.

CALLER: I know.

RUSH: There is simply no way.

CALLER: But there is no room for cowards in government.

RUSH: Not right now. The country's at stake.

CALLER: If you're going to be in government you gotta play --

RUSH: The country is at stake. You're right, this is not about the traditional back-and-forth, the policy arguments, and we come to an agreement at the end of the day, we compromise and so forth. This is about the future of the country. So I understand your frustration. Believe me, I feel it, too. You're asking me what you can do. We're all asking ourselves that. You know, what can we do? People are marching; people are showing up in public; calling all these people's offices. I think it's a waste of your time, by the way, to call Boxer. I think right now if you're going to call anybody, call Harry Reid's office. I don't care whether they talk to you or not, flood 'em, shut 'em down, e-mail, faxes, just shut 'em down, call Harry Reid's Nevada's office, he's worried about 2010 reelection. Harry Reid is about to have happen to him what happened to Tom Daschle. You call Harry Reid, don't waste your time on Pelosi. Call Steny Hoyer. Call some of the Blue Dogs and moderates and so forth, because, I'll tell you, these people, their political futures are up for grabs as well, the Blue Dog Democrats in the House.

But Harry Reid, you know, he's the guy that's the architect, along with Obama, of the shenanigans going on in the Senate right now. And, by the way, she spelled it out perfectly. If you didn't hear the first hour, she gave you the summary of it pretty well, how they're planning to attach two Senate health care bills to a House bill that the Senate has not yet acted on, on taxing bonuses. They're basically going to attach a hybrid health care bill to the Senate version of the tax on bonuses bill and send that back to the House and have them vote on that with health care, single payer, public option health care being an amendment to a bill on taxing bonuses. And then they send that right up to Obama. Now, Susan, that's not guaranteed. For this to happen, Pelosi and the House have to go along with whatever Harry Reid sends 'em and not amend it and not add to it or take away from it, and you know, by the time the Congressional Black Caucus and some of the wacko leftists in the House get a look at the Senate bill, if it doesn't have all the giveaways in it that they want, it could get screwed up. But this is the attempt going on, and this is how it would be done with 51 votes instead of 60, which is required in the Senate.

All of this is a tantamount admission that the American people don't want it; it's a tantamount admission they can't pass it with public support and what that means is that they are scheming against the American people. The enemy of this government is not Moammar Khadafy; the enemy of this government is not Ahmadinejad; the enemy of this country is not Osama Bin Laden; the enemy of this country is the American people. The enemy of the Democrat Party right now in getting what they want is the American people, and that's who they're scheming against. And you know that, too, and that's why you're outraged. This is not supposed to be a banana republic. This is supposed to be a representative republic with a small R, and they're obliterating it. They've been working at this for 50 years or more. Their dreams have come true. But they are overreaching and they're getting so much public opposition now that they're trying to figure out how to get past it and get done what they want and still maintain their power. I gotta go, Susan. Thanks for a great call.

RUSH: Internal message here to Koko up at the website. Koko, I want you to put the audio and transcript of Susan from Glendale on the free side of the website tonight. She said, "I can't rally the nation." Susan, you just did. My e-mail's going nuts in here. "Thank you for letting her go on without interrupting her. Nobody else would do that." That's because I am a highly trained broadcast professional. ... Teresa in Ithaca, New York, welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Rush, what a pleasure it is to talk to you. I've been listening to you since day one, and it is absolutely a pleasure this afternoon to get through. I just wanted to thank you. I understand you've gotten many, many e-mails already for letting Susan speak her mind because her heartfelt sentiments are just echoing across the country, and it's nice to hear somebody who is so eloquent in what she had to say and to also understand her frustration because so many of us are feeling the same way.

RUSH: Exactly right. And it would be great if every Republican member of Congress and the Senate could hear that call. We might find a way to make that happen, but it will be on the free side at RushLimbaugh.com when we update this afternoon.

Why ABC News Reported on the Congressional Doctor's Office
Don't think this is what you'll get under Obamacare.
September 30, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: There is an amazing report on ABC News, and I alluded to it mere moments ago. The health care coverage that members of Congress get. And everybody has asked the question: "Hey, you guys in Congress, are going to sign you and your family up for the same rotten deal that you're imposing on us?" And of course they're all saying, "Oh, no. We can't. We have a special, different plan." Some are lying and saying, "Yes, I'll be the first to do it." Obama says, "Well, I can't. You know, I got my own doctor running around, and I -- I -- I -- I don't think anybody can get the health care I get." Well, nobody's going to get the kind of health care members of Congress get. Timothy Johnson, who is the medical doctor, director at ABC News had this report on Good Morning America today, accompanied by a full text report of it on their website.

And I think people are misunderstanding this. The ABC headline: "Special Health Care for Congress: Lawmakers' Health Care Perks -- Little Known Office on Capitol Hill Provides Quality Medical Care for Low Price," and a lot of people are saying, "Ah, this is ABC blowing the whistle on Congress." It is no such thing. It is Tim Johnson -- who loves the concept of government, period; loves the concept of government-run health care; it's Tim Johnson -- trying to say, "This is what's coming your way! This is the kind of health care that awaits us all," under the guise of exposing it in Congress. We have a montage here of his report. Anybody know about this? When Obama says he's going to give everybody the same health care as Congress gets, is this what he's talking about? Listen.

JOHNSON: Right in the US Capitol at a little known and rarely discussed clinic called the Office of the Attending Physician. For a flat $503 yearly fee members of Congress have access to almost all of the primary care they could ever need right behind this door, from exams and EKGs to x-rays and minor surgeries, all provided by Navy doctors and nurses. If a particular specialist is needed one will be brought to the Capitol. All of this for no additional charge. We wanted to talk to the attending physician on camera about the services, but our repeated requests were denied and when we tried to visit the office we were asked to leave. Dr. Eduardo Balbona is now in private practice, but he spent two years as a staff physician at the office.

BALBONA: Customer service is excellent. A member walks in and generally walks right back into a physician's office. They are not rushed. They are examined thoroughly. Any test that is helpful is done.

JOHNSON: I'm sitting here thinking if you're going to introduce this bill for the federal health plan, why not throw in something like this office. That is, provide primary care? If Congress can have those kinds of things, why can't we?

BALBONA: It's not a political perk. Much like a medic who's in combat, it's not a perk to those soldiers. It's part of the mission.

RUSH: "It's part of the mission." These holier-than-thou, arrogant, condescending elitists think that they are on a mission. They have structured health care for themselves. By the way, there's also a pharmacy. There's a pharmacy in the US Capitol, in the Office of the Attending Physician. You walk in there if you need a prescription filled and they do it. House bank, House post office, House doctor -- for $500 a year! "Need a specialist? Bring him in! No additional charge. Need a test? No additional charge. We'll do it," and did you catch Johnson's question? "Why not throw this in the bill that you're planning for everybody else?" "Oh, no, no, can't do that! This is not a perk." Not a perk? Members of Congress, we're being asked to believe that somebody set this up for them because it's important that they continue to work each and every day?

They set it up themselves. They set up every law in this country. They set up their own Office of the Attending Physician, they determine who staffs it. They determine how much is budgeted for it. They determine how much they pay for it. So while they are on the way to enslaving us to a health care system that will turn every medical decision you have about yourself and your kids over to dealing with some faceless bureaucrat miles away, these same people have Cadillac, Mercedes, whatever you want to call it health care coverage, for essentially $500. This does not include the already generous health care plan they have for when they're not in the Capitol. They can choose from 11 different insurance options and so forth -- and it's all paid for by, of course, us. So while they're planning this big national takeover of the health care plan -- single payer, government public option -- all this to bring down costs, all this to improve your care, all of this to reduce fraud and waste in government, all of this to reduce the federal deficit.

I have never had my intelligence insulted like it's been insulted with this entire health care debate. The stimulus debate was almost as insulting, the idea that it's gonna stimulate the economy. There's nobody with half an economic brain who ever believed that. Because it's not about stimulating the economy, and this health care reform is not about improving your health care. It's about enslaving you. This is what Democrats want. This is who they are. They don't like the Constitution. They don't like the concepts of freedom and liberty, private property rights. They look at the private sector as nothing other than an entity that provides them the money they need to rule. Sadly, these people now control every branch of the government, and they're adding 63 new federal judgeships that they will populate with people just like themselves who -- down the road in any further dispute, legally, over whatever legislation passes, their buddies -- will side on the side and in favor of the government.

Folks, it's being taken away from us right before our very eyes. Under false premise. Under the guise of compassion. It's being done despite the knowledge of everybody on Capitol Hill that we don't want it. The numbers supporting it plummet each time a poll is taken. This is nothing more than a scheme against the American people. The concept of a representative republic or democracy is being shattered before our very eyes, and we're being told that the people running the country have great compassion. They care for us. They have nor compassion and more concern for us than evil, rascally Republicans have ever had. Here's Chuck Schumer. This is last night on MSNBC. Question: "Is there hope..." Is there hope! This is Chris Matthews. (sobbing) Is there hope? Oh, God! Oh, God, is there hope? "Is there hope for the public option?"

SCHUMER: Oh, yeah. I believe there is. If you followed this closely, we said all along we never expected to win in Finance Committee. In fact, there were some who were saying, "We're going to get so few votes we shouldn't bring it up," so this was really good news for us.

RUSH: Yeah, well, sorry, Senator Schumer, but this is all a joke. This is all a lie, too. The whole plan is going to be a public option and they're going to ram it through, as I explained in the first hour. If they can get it done by next week, fine. If they can't they'll get it down by October 12th. Harry Reid has now canceled the October recess, the Columbus Day recess, to focus to health care. He canceled the Senate's Columbus Day recess so that lawmakers can focus on passing health care reform during the week of October 12th. Now, if they can get it done next week and take their recess, they will. You're even hearing people saying, "They can't get it done before the end of the year. They're not going to get done by Thanksgiving, by Christmas. They can't do it at all." They're going to get it done before that, and they're going to get it done in scheming ways that I detailed in the first hour.

Democrats Practice Projection, Claim GOP Wants to Kill People
It's the Democrat Party that's obsessed with death.
September 30, 2009

YouTube:  Alan Grayson on the GOP Health Care Plan: "Don't Get Sick! And if You Do Get Sick, Die Quickly!"'

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Here's some compassion. Here is some real, genuine compassion. The Democrat Party, they own it, right? Liberal, they're the ones with the big hearts. They're the ones who really care. This is actually a great case of projection. Who is it is that has set up death panels? Who is it that has written legislation that will have bureaucrats decide who does and does not get lifesaving treatment based on whatever criteria they want to use? These are Democrat-written bills in the Senate and in the House. Not one Republican word in any of these bills, right? It's this public option that is going to determine who among us lives and dies on the basis of who among us gets health care, gets treatment based on whatever criteria they say is necessary. Last night on the floor of the House, Alan Grayson, a Florida Democrat, spoke about health care reform and said this.

GRAYSON: If you get sick, America, the Republican health care plan is this: Die quickly! That's right. The Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick. Remember be the Republican plan: Don't get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.

RUSH: Now, that is simply outrageous. There is no Republican plan in any way, shape, manner, or form that comes close to this. The only plan that asks you to die and get out of the way is a Democrat plan. In 1984, Richard Lamm, Democrat governor of Colorado: "Old people have a duty to die and get out of the way." Back then he was laughed off the public stage. "How could you say something so uncaring? Die and get out of the way?" Twenty-five years later Newsweek magazine has a cover story: "The Case for Pulling the Plug on Granny." It's the American left that wants to you die. They want to you die in the womb, and they want you to die when you're no longer productive toward the end of your life. It's the Democrat Party that's obsessed with your death. It's the Democrat Party that is obsessed not with life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, but the exact opposite. They're the party of abortion and euthanasia. Slavery, not liberty. Everybody being created miserable and mediocre. That's how they would rewrite the Constitution. They're in the process of doing it now without actually touching the document. Now, let's go to Scarborough's show today on MSNBC. Mika Brzezinski is talking to Congressman Elijah Cummings of the Congressional Black Caucus. "Congressman, are you prepared to say that Grayson went too far in his language that Republicans want people to die."

CUMMINGS: I'm not prepared to say that. I see a lot of people in my community dying slowly because they don't have health care and don't have insurance, and so -- and many of them have been the victims. When I go to town hall meetings, and I ask, say, a 90% African-American audience how many know of people who have died within the last year that they knew or believe strongly should not have died because they didn't have insurance or were not treated properly, 90% of the people consistently hold up their hands.

RUSH: Now, I want to give you a comparison. Joe Wilson goes House to the floor during that joint speech and says, "You lie" to Obama. The Republican Party, despite Joe Wilson telling the truth, denounce him. "That was uncalled for! That was uncivil! We don't need that." A Democrat goes to the House floor and says, "Republicans want you to die quickly. Get sick and die quickly." They go to Elijah Cummings and he says, "Oh, no, I think it's absolutely right! In fact, black people are dying because of Republicans." They don't throw their own people under the bus. They amplify what they say.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Speaking of Elijah Cummings, I don't believe anybody in this country is dying because of a lack of health insurance. But that's what Obama is saying, and Obama's a grand pooh-bah so Elijah Cummings goes out there and repeats it and so forth and so on, and that's how these things become mantras. Then the Drive-Bys pick it up, and before you know it 45,000 people a year are dying, dying, dying. And the Democrat Party is obsessed with death. Life, no. Abortion, euthanasia. Liberty? No. Slavery. Subordination to government. Pursuit of happiness? Not possible. I've yet to meet a happy liberal. They're angry, deranged lunatics. They don't want to enjoy life. If they become a vegetarian, everybody else must become one! If a conservative becomes a vegetarian, fine, whatever you want to do with your life is fine, you want to eat meat, go ahead. If a liberal buys a Prius, everybody has to buy a Prius! If a conservative buys a Prius he's made fun of by his friends, and eventually sells it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Bill in Indianapolis. Hello, Bill. It's great to have you on the program. Thank you for waiting, sir.

CALLER: Yeah. What a pleasure it is for you to get to speak to a happy, healthy ogle-r.

RUSH: (laughing) Yeah. It's nice to have somebody happy.

CALLER: That's right. My question is, I keep hear these from these liberal Democrats that 40,000 people die every year that do not have health care coverage. How many people with good health care coverage die?

RUSH: Uhhh...

CALLER: More than 40,000.

RUSH: Well, that would be about, say 300,000 a year because of smoking, 400,000 a year because of obesity, 500,000 a year because of trans fats -- and I bet they all ate carrots, too, while they had health insurance.

CALLER: That's right. That's right.

RUSH: Forty thousand people are not dying because they don't have health insurance.

CALLER: They're dying because of bad health.

RUSH: They're dying because people die!

CALLER: That's right.

RUSH: Good health does not give you immortality. We die. Sometimes you die in an auto accident. Doesn't matter. Elijah Cummings is out there saying in his constituency, blacks are dying because they don't have health coverage -- oops, oops, health insurance! Health insurance! I would like for him to produce one death certificate of one of his constituents that says, "Cause of death: No health insurance." I want to see it! I want a parade. I want to see the caskets. I want to see the cemetery. I want to see the graveyard. I want to see the tombstones of all of his constituents who have died because they had no health insurance. They throw these numbers around which are cockamamie and absurd. So show us the cemetery! Show us the death certificate. If you don't want to do that, just give us the case examples. Say, "Person A, B, C here passed away because they didn't have health insurance -- meaning they got really sick and they didn't get covered, didn't get any treatment." Really? Did they go to the emergency room? Because it's a federal law you have to be treated when you go in there. These people are just a bunch of lying sacks of you-know-what, folks, through and through. It's all they know how to do.

Will Rush Accept the Invitation to Judge the Miss America Pageant?
Plus, why El Rushbo doesn't like to do television.
September 30, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I got a lot of questions from people listening to the show today. "Rush, why don't you go on television? Everybody else has a television show. Why don't you go on television?" Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to explain this again because I understand people wanting me to do this kind of thing on television and so forth. I really think that radio done right has more impact than television, or certainly as much. My audience here is larger than any audience in cable TV I'd ever go on or any network I'd go on and have a show. But more importantly it's just a professional thing.

I've done television and, frankly, I don't like it. It's structured, it is planned, it is orchestrated, it allows for no improv or spontaneity. It's really just a professional thing. I've never had one meeting to do this radio show. I have never sat down an hour before it, the day before it, and called somebody and said, "I'm going to do this at 1:08:30 tomorrow and I want you to have this ready by that exact time and this is what I'm going to say and I want the microphone in this position and a phone call --" and I've done this my whole life. Television is one of the most confining, restricting things. When I sit down to actually write, when I've tried to write things, writing is very hard for me because my vocabulary shrinks by half. My experience is speaking. My brain is at full 110% speed when I'm speaking. But when I sit down to start writing -- just as an example, I get caught up in the keyboard errors, gotta correct that, lose my train of thought. I can't type as fast as I can think. I can speak as fast as I can think, and so my experience and training is speaking extemporaneously after having been fully prepared and informed.

But to have to involve ten other people in what I'm going to do drives me nuts. "Okay, Mr. Director, I'm going to do this, then we're going to have this picture ready to go at that point in time," and I start thinking more about the process than the content. And monologues on television don't cut it. You gotta have pictures on TV. Radio you can provide the pictures via the host's talent and the audience's imagination. TV requires, the audience requires that the show them something. I've been inundated with this question today so I felt that I owed people an answer. Also, for those of you who were here yesterday, you know that I have been invited to participate in the Miss America Pageant in January as a judge, and I asked the audience what they thought of this because the original note from the Miss America Pageant people said it's a week-long commitment, from January 24th to the 30th, out in Las Vegas. I can't miss a full week's of radio here out judging evening gowns and stuff. And so they got back to me yesterday: "Whoa, now, wait a minute, we heard Rush was talking about this today." I'll bet they did. "And we're more than happy to work the schedule around the broadcast schedule." Well, I haven't made up my mind yet. I got other things I have to ask them about and decide, but they don't even know what the schedule is.

I've got a lot of things to batten down, but I'll be honest with you, one of the things that worried me -- I started using a treadmill now -- I can't go to a gym in a hotel to use a treadmill. I can't do things like that in public. I'm too famous. Sit tight, Snerdley. If you'll let me finish this. I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up the exercise regimen. If you don't keep it up, I mean it kind of all just falls by the wayside. I don't want to be a prima donna and say bring some equipment into the hotel suite, and I'm not going to go to the hotel gym, I'm too famous to do that sort of thing, but I saw this story, it's a study, actually, by German scientists, I'm not making this up here. It's another thing to consider if I do judge the Miss America contest, I won't have to exercise that week.

"A study by German scientists showed that 10 minutes a day of ogling women’s breasts by men was as good at warding off heart disease, high blood pressure and stress as 30 minutes of aerobic exercise. The five-year study conducted by Dr. Karen Weatherby, followed 200 men. Those who partook in boob ogling for just 10 minutes a day enjoyed benefits equal to those of 30 minutes of grunting, groaning, sweating and doing push-ups at the gym. Weatherby found that a mere 10-minutes of staring at well-endowed females is roughly the equivalent of a 30-minute aerobics workout, because sexual excitement gets the heart pumping and improves circulation." Well, so I have to throw this into the hopper of things that I have to consider. I'm not making it up, folks. It's right there. Saw it doing show prep last night about 9:15. I got the date, got the time stamp here when I printed it out.

Thanks for the free fax links. One thing I’d like to see everyone asking at every opportunity is if the people in charge still believe, in light of all of these bad employment numbers (especially among the young) that there are jobs Americans aren’t willing to do and we need illegal aliens to do them for us. It seems that the numer of illegals here is roughly equal to the numer of unemployed citizens, do they think that is a coincidence?

“...they [The GOP] still don’t see that there’s an army of people willing to back them up if they would just lead!”

Could it be that they don’t know HOW to lead?

What a pitiful lot we’ve become. I can name Republicans on ONE HAND that I would trust and throw my dollars behind these days. Again, pi-ti-ful! Grrrrrr!

“But, folks, we’re dealing with a guy who is out to destroy the whole concept of the West, western civilization, the West in terms of a geopolitical organization of nations, out to destroy it. We’ve never seen anything like this.”

Sure we’ve seen this before; just not on our own soil. There’s a first for everything, Rush. I pray that we can survive this.

Tell all your friends, neighbors, kids, parents and others to call and fax.

Ask them if they like their job and having money to buy things like food.

ObamaCare will be an employment killer.

People need to call and fax. Dsily.
