A conservative congressman said on Thursday that top generals may resign or retire early if President Barack Obama does not make a significant changes to the military's Afghan strategy.

"Sure, I think that's a legitimate concern," Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) told Washington Times Radio this morning. "If the president chooses [not to readjust the strategy] but stay there, I think you'll see that kind of a thing happen, then I think you'll see those kinds of resignations."

Ryan expressed worry that the current strategy in Afghanistan is not working. Administration officials have said they are conducting a strategic review of the conflict there. He called for the White House to enact changes quickly

As they should. They wouldn’t want defeat on their hands while sticking up for the zer0.

The average boot on the ground will pay for the lack of decision. That’s sad.

This is the “soft coup” that the military can pull. Versus the mutiny that will happen if Obama says to shoot down iIsraeli warplanes headed to Iran.

Passed behavior predicts future performance. Barry’s Afghan strategy decision follows the same timeline as picking Bo the Dog.

Of course the strategy isn’t working. When they are more concerned about civilians than they are about taking out the enemy, there’s no way they can win. That’s not the way to win a war.

At this point I would have started seriously using a nuke and being done with it.

Why would any officer want Obama’s Afghan assignment?

He’s fundamentally against the war, lied during his campaign to cover his personal views, and when he ultimately fails there, you can be certain he and Emmanuel will be looking for political scapegoats.

Yeah, it already has to the tune 43 since McChrystal upchanneled that manning plus-up request. Too bad the so-called “commander in chief” isn’t interested in a successful outcome.

That would certainly be a game changing message heard around the world.

He could care less about the war. He wants “the money”.

What are the military concerns that he is evaluating when he says he is reevaluating the strategy? He is not talking to McCrystal. Or is it possible that he is only looking at the political issues involved in staying there?

Understand the frustration but to abandon the country right now would be worse. This guy is one and done, please don’t throw away brilliant careers and irreplaceable experience over a kenyan commie.

“If the political winds should change, I will stand with the Muslims” - Barack Hussein Obama from “Dreams of My Father”

Reading that quote should sound an alarm bell to save the Constitution.

The “threat” should include insistence on relaxing the “rules of engagement (ROE)”!
Un-cuff our troops and let them fight!

He’s fundamentally against the war,

I doubt that his position could really be counted as against it -- except to the extent he doesn't see how it could be turned into more money or influence for him.

If the generals go, I hope the soldiers follow them.

I've really been worrying about this one:

"This is the “soft coup” that the military can pull."
...and...
"Versus the mutiny that will happen if Obama says to shoot down Israeli warplanes headed to Iran."

I'm not aware of any attempted mutiny when they were ordered to bomb Serbia.

If BO gets much further in his quest to destroy America, I wouldn’t blame a soldier for going awol. What would you be fighting for? These soldiers are doing this to fight for freedom! If/when that’s taken away what’s left to fight for?

The average boot on the ground and general should question if these decisions are made by a legitimate POTUS.
