"Liberals are hilarious and fun when they're out of power.
When they're in power, they're dangerous, and never more so than now."

"With Democrats, you die before you're born; you don't even get a chance at health care if the Democrats are in charge!
Remember life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?  Life?   Democrats?  No way!"

"Can I ask a question?  I was looking at television ratings last night, and I saw that MSNBC has fallen into third place.
Do you realize how hard that is to do?"

"Men and women who have volunteered to defend and protect this country are getting killed in Afghanistan, and
Michelle Obama wants to tell us that people tell her they're aware of the 'sacrifice' she's making?
Arrogance?  Yeah.  Hubris?  Yeah.  Class?  No.  Awareness?  No.  Sensitivity?  Zero."

"People often say to me, 'Boy, Rush, you've got guts.'  No, I don't have guts.  It's just that everybody else is scared to say things."

"Frankly, ladies and gentlemen, I, as a conservative, as a man, as a Republican, as a citizen, and as your host, have had it with race-baiters --
and I rarely have my fill of anything, but I have had my fill of this race crap."

"Do you remember Blazing Saddles? I t's one of my all-time favorite movies, and not just because it was funny.
Blazing Saddles just stood political correctness on its head."

YouTube:  Blazing Saddles

"While American soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan because of inaction and indecision -- and probably apathy --
on the part of President Obama, the Obamas have the audacity to say that they are making a huge 'sacrifice' to go to
Copenhagen and supposedly argue for the Olympics.  Okay."

"So a Democrat congressman said that our health care system is the equivalent of a Holocaust in America.
This is a great example of projection.  I mean, with Democrats, you die before you're born."

"Now, listen to his Wikipedia entry: 'Alan Grayson is married to Lolita Grayson.  They have five children:  Sky, Star, Sage, Storm, and Stone.'
And they laughed at Sarah Palin for the way she named her kids!"

"I hope these Democrats just keep talking, and I hope we're able to amplify them.  They're lunacy on parade!
They're so arrogant and cocky that they're telling us exactly who they are."

"Just because the Holocaust happened doesn't mean we have to ignore everything else Hitler was about.
Hitler was a man of the left, and even prior to him, German socialists attempted to remake their country
using health care as the springboard -- same thing that's happening here."

"How did these people get ten million votes more than our candidate?  The answer becomes obvious: our candidate.
Our party squandered a gold mine because they were trying to get rid of the conservative element of the Republican Party,
and that's why we are where we are."

"So Michelle Obama sacrificed herself to get in a big, luxurious jet to fly to Copenhagen.  I'm thinking that Michelle needs a little dictionary.
Let's not forget, this is a woman who is not proud of her country unless she's getting what she wants from it."

"Obama, you're 'not going to rest until everybody who wants a job can find one'?  Why are you going to Copenhagen, then?
I think this unemployment news is great news for Obama.  He is purposefully destroying the private sector."

Continually repeat ...

It's not about me.
I'm the President.

Michelle Obama's Trip to Denmark:  It's Her "Sacrifice" for the Children
As soldiers die in Afghanistan, the Obamas "sacrifice."
October 1, 2009

Parody:   Sneak Peek at Obama's Olympic Pitch

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: As you know, President Obama is heading off to Copenhagen tomorrow to make a final pitch for the Olympics in Chicago in 2016.  His wife Michelle (My Belle) is already there conducting big-time meetings.  She said the most audacious thing which I'm going to analyze in greater detail in just a moment.  She said, "It is a sacrifice for her to fly over there and make a pitch for the Olympics, that it is a sacrifice for her husband to fly over there to make a pitch for the Olympics, but that they are doing it for the kids."  While American soldiers are being shot at and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan because of inaction and indecision and probably apathy on the part of President Obama, they have the audacity to say that they are making a huge sacrifice to go to Copenhagen when in fact they act like they're having a big party as they supposedly argue for the Olympics.  We have an exclusive here on the EIB Network.  We have President Obama, he's been working with the teleprompter on his pitch to the organizing committee, the Olympic organizing committee in Copenhagen, and this is a rough draft of what he might say to them.

(playing of Obama spoof)

A little sneak peek there of President Obama's presentation tomorrow to the International Olympic Committee.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Michelle Obama is in Copenhagen to bribe -- uh, to pitch the International Olympic Committee into choosing Chicago.  I'm wondering if the fact that as many Chicagoans as not want the thing, as many don't want it as do, I wonder if that will have an impact on the committee. And, you know, folks, Chicago... When you talk about Chicago you're talking pure patronage.  The reason they want the games -- and I'm just guessing.  I'm just throwing this out.  I have no evidence to back this up.  This is just the way my mind works.  How many people in Chicago that are part of the Daley machine, how many people in the Obama administration from Chicago own some property that will have to be sold at premium prices to build the Olympic complex in Chicago? The Olympic village, venues and so forth?  Yeah, we may as well say it's a Tony Rezko production.  We know that Chicagoans stick together.

The machine guys stick together. They help you buy a house for very little and so forth. That's Rezko for Obama.  So I'm just wondering how many...? You have to ask these things.  This is how it works.  How many Chicagoans in the Daley machine and how many Chicagoans like Rahm in the White House working for Obama, own property that they're going to sell at huge prices to have these Olympics take place?  Always follow the money.  Anyway, Michelle (My Belle) is over there.  "In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her 'dear friend' and 'chit-chat buddy' Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow's visit by President Obama, is a 'sacrifice' on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States.

"'As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,' the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, 'so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home. As first lady, as many of you know, I've made it a priority to bridge the gap between the White House and communities across DC and across the country.'"  What the hell is she...? Bridge what gap between the White House and communities across DC and the country?  What freaking gap is she talking about?  "I've spent much of my first nine months trying to open the doors to the White House to kids who might not otherwise see themselves having access to these institutions, because that's where I came from -- communities like that where kids never dreamed that they could set foot in the White House, let alone live there ... And Barack and I made a point of doing the same thing when we lived in Chicago -- making the concerns of kids in all sorts of communities our own."

Do you want me to translate this, or do I even have to?  I'm uncomfortable translating because I know I'm right about it.  But that's a pure racial statement.  That is a statement that illustrates the chip on her shoulder and on Barack's shoulder and on Jeremiah Wright's. And rather than feel because of Barack's election, rather than feel like some really great achievement has happened, the country's taken a great step forward, they still hold onto the anger and they won't let go of the anger.  And they have to keep talking about the way things were, how rotten things were, despite how wonderfully positive they've changed. How rotten things were.  "And so I'm going to keep reminding people how rotten things were!"  "I've spent much of my first nine months trying to open the doors to the White House to kids who might not otherwise see themselves having access to these institutions because..." Anybody can go to Washington and get a tour of the White House any day.

Anybody can go to Washington and tour any monument or memorial any day.  Nobody is stopping anybody from doing this.  There are White House tours.  If you know, you can call your congressman and you can get some sort of access to a White House tour.  There's any number of things that you can do.  Nobody's denied access to these institutions, for crying out loud!  She's talking about the old disc'imination, discrimination. In her mind it hasn't ended. People still feel that way.  This is what bugs me about all this, and this is what I mean by the chip on their shoulder they carry around. They still have a seething rage even though the country is where it is, and we've moved as far as we have.  They still have a seething rage about it.  You know Jeremiah Wright still has seething rage about it.

"Mrs. Obama said bringing the Olympics to Chicago is especially important right now because 'athletics is becoming more of a fleeting opportunity.'" Athletics is becoming more of a fleeting opportunity?  Listen to her explain that.  "'Funds dry up so it becomes harder for kids to engage in sports, to learn how to swim, to even ride a bike,' she said. In addition, with childhood obesity on the rise, 'it is so important for us to raise up the platform of fitness and competition and fair play,' the first lady said." Well, now, how many decades have we had this worthless thing called the President's Commission On Physical Fitness? We've had all these athletes celebrities, nominated to head the thing up.  And I don't know what the hell ever happens other than a softball game, a T-ball game, and an Easter egg roll.

What in the world here? Funds are drying up? It's harder to learn how to swim because funds had dried up?  It's harder to learn how to ride a bike because funds have dried up?  No! It's getting harder to ride a bike because certain school districts are telling kids that they can't ride a book to school, nor can they walk to school.  I've got that story somewhere here in the stack.  'Finally, having the Olympics in Chicago would be important to 'let people know that we understand that sports saves lives, that it makes dreams come true, that it creates visions in kids' heads to make them think they can be the next David Robinson, the next Barack Obama," who is a well-known sports figure, by the way. Barack Obama is a well-known athlete. Yes, that's what he's known for.  "'[T]he next Nadia Comaneci, the next Oprah Winfrey...'"

Well, that's what she said here.  "[W]e understand that sports saves lives, that it makes dreams come true, that it creates visions in kids' heads to make them think they can be the next David Robinson, the next Barack Obama...the next Oprah Winfrey." Oh, there's Sully.  He just took off!  They do have a camera somewhere.  There's Sully Sullenberger, looks like here's in an Airbus A-something or other, taking off.  So far no birds have interacted with the engines of Sully Sullenberger's jet.  Looks like a smooth departure route coming out of LaGuardia.  Sully Sullenberger en route from LaGuardia to Charlotte, North Carolina, and I kid you not, they have a telescopic lens on a camera following the flight.  Nothing against Sully Sullenberger, don't misunderstand.  I'm simply commenting on media obsessions.

Okay, I want to go back to it's a "sacrifice" for her and Barack and Oprah to fly in the epitome of luxury on government jets to Copenhagen and have a huge party.  They're throwing a party over there as they argue and pitch for the Olympics.  "As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me..." Who in the world is saying it's a sacrifice for you?  Who in the world's running up to Michelle Obama and saying, "I really love the sacrifice you're making here, Michelle. There's a lot of things that you could be doing like bridging the gap between the White House and communities out there, but you took time off from that number one charge of yours of bridging the gap and you're out there. You're really sacrificing, arguing for the Olympics to come to Chicago.  Great sacrifice to head over there to Copenhagen."

It's a great sacrifice to take your own plane when your husband's coming on his own plane two days later!  Why, this is a marvelous sacrifice. We should all be grateful that the people living in the White House should make this kind of sacrifice and then have the courage to tell us that they know what a sacrifice they're making.  Now, I'm like you.  I'm thinking that Michelle Obama needs a little dictionary lesson.  Let's not forget, this is the woman who is not proud of her country unless she's getting what she wants from it.  She said during the campaign, the first time she'd been proud of her country, was when Obama was nominated or done something.  So she sacrificed herself to get in a big, luxurious jet -- a Boeing 757 -- to fly to Copenhagen, where she's pampered and treated like she were a goddess.  Yes, this is a sacrifice.

Meanwhile, we have had at least four of our voluntary military men and women killed while living in tents in the most godforsaken spot on earth while insane religious fanatics try to kill them. All the while she and her husband need a few more weeks to decide whether he can risk angering his base to send reinforcements to help them! So Michelle, you need to look at a Merriam-Webster Dictionary and study the word "sacrifice" 'cause it's obviously a word you did not learn in your Ivy League education.  You're throwing a party.  You're flying over on a 757. Your husband comes over later on a 747. You're with The Oprah. You're in a luxurious hotel suite sipping adult beverages winning throwing parties with canapes while these various people come and you give them a pitch.

And while all this is going on men and women who have volunteered to defend and protect this country are getting killed in Afghanistan while your husband dithers on whether to send them reinforcements 'cause he can't figure out if it will hurt his health care bill chances! She wants to tell us that people tell her that they're aware of the sacrifice she's making.  Arrogance?  Yeah.  Hubris?  Yeah.  Class?  No.  Awareness?  No.  Sensitivity?  Zero.  Ability to relate?  Zero.  Total self-centeredness?  Yes.  Again, we can do this seemingly with practically every news story that comes down the pike.  Barbara Bush, Laura Bush in Copenhagen, pitching the Olympics for Dallas or Houston -- and they're over there with Bruce Willis and the Oak Ridge Boys -- and Laura Bush says, "People have told me of the immense sacrifice that George and I are making to come here to lobby for the Olympics for Dallas or Houston."  Imagine that happening during the Iraq war and either of them saying that, and imagine what the reaction to it would be.  Today they marvel at the fact that Michelle's there, working hard to bring this home for Chicago. Bring it home now! Obama's going over there. They're talking about the bravery and the courage of our president to go over there and risk national and worldwide humiliation by having the games go to Rio and not Chicago.  What a brave, courageous president this man is!  While troops continue to die in Afghanistan with no apparent hope for reinforcements.

RUSH: Marcus in Boise, Idaho, home of Boise State.  Great to have you on the EIB Network.  Hello.

CALLER:  Thanks, Rush.  It's good to talk to you.  Yeah, I just wanted to comment that I'm pretty much outraged that our president is flying over to another country to promote the Olympics in a city where our children are murdering each other in record numbers.  I'm originally from Oakland, California.  I had a son murdered there, my best friend was a victim of murder as well, a mistaken identity, and he was an athlete, a teammate of mine.  And this has been a problem going on for a long time.  I just don't understand why my people don't see that Obama is not like us.  He's an elitist.  He was groomed for this position.  He never led the life that we did --

RUSH:  They see it.

CALLER:  -- he never came up like we did.

RUSH:  They see it.  I don't want to hear this, "Why don't people see it?"  People do see it.  Now, the people that voted for him may not see it yet, but I guarantee you some of the Wall Street people who voted for him see it.  They're scared to say so.  Charles Gasparino, New York Post yesterday, big column.

Don't apologize, Grayson.
Please keep talking.

YouTube:  Alan Grayson on the GOP Health Care Plan: "Don't Get Sick! And if You Do Get Sick, Die Quickly!"'

YouTube:  Pelosi calls healthcare opponents NAZIS

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Alan Grayson, Democrat, Florida, is back.  Let's go back to Tuesday night on the House floor.

GRAYSON:  If you get sick, America, the Republican health care plan is this:  Die quickly.  That's right.  The Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick.  Remember, the Republican plan: Don't get sick.  And if you do get sick, die quickly.

RUSH:  Alan Grayson.  He's from Orlando and he's a Democrat.  I never heard of him before this.  Have you heard of him, Snerdley?  Now everybody knows who he is, but there's more to this.  He went back yesterday on the House floor and added to it.

GRAYSON:  I call upon all of us to do our jobs for the sake of America, for the sake of those dying people and their families.  I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this Holocaust in America.

RUSH:  It's a Holocaust in America.  Health care is the equivalent of a Holocaust in America.  And this is a great example of projection.  With Democrats, you die before you're born!  You don't even get a chance at health care if the Democrats are in charge.  Remember, life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.  Life? Democrats?  No way.  Look at the number of abortions they are for and are responsible for.  Liberty?  No way.  Tyranny.  There's no way they want liberty for anybody.  It stands in the way of what they want.  Pursuit of happiness?  Does Grayson sound happy?  I went and did a Wikipedia search on this guy because I've never heard of him.  And it's sort of funny.  I thought maybe old Alan had played football and was now in dementia because the New York Times had a story, NFL players suffering dementia, I thought maybe he'd be an NFL player, was losing his mind out there, but he's too much of a liberal to ever have competed in anything.

Now, listen to his Wikipedia entry.  And, by the way, this paragraph I'm going to read to you is the longest paragraph in the section devoted to his legislative history.  It's the longest paragraph.  "Grayson is married to Lolita Grayson.  They have five children, Sky, Star, Sage, Storm, and Stone."  And they laughed at Sarah Palin for the way she named her kids.  This is the paragraph that describes his legislative track record of history:  "In early 2009, Grayson responded to comments by talk radio personality Rush Limbaugh, in which Limbaugh stated that he wanted the policies of President Barack Obama 'to fail.'" Most of this paragraph is about me, is my point.  They recite verbatim what I meant when I said I wanted Obama to fail: "Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, 'Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.'..."] by saying, "Rush Limbaugh is a has-been hypocrite loser, who craves attention. His right-wing lunacy sounds like Mikhail Gorbachev, extolling the virtues of communism. Limbaugh actually was more lucid when he was a drug addict. If America ever did 1% of what he wanted us to do, then we'd all need pain killers."

This is in his legislative paragraph, this is the number one entry, this is the highlight of Grayson's legislative career is what he has said in reaction to me.  "On March 3 of that year, satirizing incidents in which prominent Republican officials (including Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele) were forced to apologize to Limbaugh for criticizing him, Grayson released a second statement, in which he said, 'I’m sorry Limbaugh called for harsh sentences for drug addicts while he was a drug addict. I'm also sorry that he’s bent on seeing America fail. And I’m sorry that Limbaugh is one sorry excuse for a human being.'"  That's Alan Grayson, Democrat, Orlando, and that's the paragraph from his legislative history at Wikipedia.  It's all about me and I never heard of the guy.  I never heard of the guy 'til his lunatic rant about Republicans: "If you get sick, die quickly," and now apologizing to the dead and their families we haven't voted sooner to end this Holocaust in America, meaning the lack of nationalized health care.

And again, folks, I hope these people keep talking, I hope they just keep talking, and I hope we're able to amplify them.  This is lunacy on parade.  They are so arrogant and cocky they're telling us exactly who they are, some of them are, and Grayson certainly is.  But, again, I want to caution you, he says that we Republicans want people to get sick and die quickly.  Richard Lamm, 1984, Democrat governor, Colorado, "Old people have a duty to die and get out of the way."  Newsweek magazine, 25 years later, "The case for pulling the plug on granny."  Then he goes out and says that lack of national health care is a Holocaust while he apologizes to the dead, does this guy have a line to the dead?  Do the dead listen to this guy?  He apologizes to the dead and their families that we haven't ended this Holocaust.  I just want to remind everybody that Democrats kill people before they're even born.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Brooklyn first, Ruthy great to have you on the EIB Network hello.

CALLER:  Hi, Rush.  How are you?

RUSH:  Great.  Thank you.

CALLER:  Mega dittos from me and my eight Rush Babies.  I just wanted to tell you because I was listening and you were mentioning the Holocaust and health care and you're always saying how words mean things.

RUSH:  That's right, I do.

CALLER:  And you have people saying Holocaust that is health care throwing out the word Nazi and Hitler, and this morning on the news they were saying that Afghanistan is Vietnam.  They don't realize what a Holocaust is, what Nazi is, and you're always saying, words mean things.  You can't just throw out words and not understand what you're saying.

RUSH:  Well, no, you can, and they do.  I mean this is the point.  Now, here we have Nancy Pelosi who really got all this started by calling half of Americans Nazis who were showing up at congressional town hall meetings.  And then you had the White House describe these people as unruly mobs, then you had the White House dispatch union thugs and start beating up people at town hall meetings, beating up young black conservatives in one case in St. Louis.  You have all that going on.  I mean this guy, Grayson, clearly an order of fries short of a Happy Meal.  The guy is obviously not all there.  To compare anything in this country to the Holocaust -- of course when I endeavored to intellectually and properly explain the similarities between the National Socialism of Germany and Obama's health care plan, then they said, "You can't do that, why, Hitler, six million people were killed, you can't compare."  No, no, no, I'm not.  A lot of stuff happened before the Holocaust and just because the Holocaust happened doesn't mean we have to ignore everything else Hitler was about and just as Obama is doing, Hitler -- well, even prior to Hitler, German socialists attempted to remake and order their country using health care as the springboard and the foundation.

Same thing that's happening here.  Hitler was a man of the left.  Nazi is simply the term for the national socialists of Germany.  They have far more in common, the national socialists and their domestic policies, short of the Holocaust, have far more in common with what Obama is doing than with anybody on the right.  So when we make this comparison, after Pelosi calls us all Nazis, "All right, you want to call us Nazis, let's do a comparison, Ms. Pelosi, let's see really who is closer to the national socialists of Germany."  So we do that and all of a sudden, "You can't."  Now we've got a guy, a Democrat on the floor of the House, comparing Republican desires on health care to the Holocaust.  Now, the Holocaust, six million people were murdered on the basis of their religion.  There is nothing comparable to that in this country ever.  There are not people dying in this country because they don't have health insurance.  There are people who have health insurance who die.  Now, this guy's running around saying that the Republican Party is  running a Holocaust here and that we're the ones that want people to die.

We are the ones who get tarred and feathered because we're pro-life, for crying out loud!  Pro-life gets tarred and feathered and impugned and ripped to shreds, and it has been my whole life.  Pro-lifers are said to be hicks, hayseeds, a bunch of religious fanatics and so forth. We still sand up for the proposition that all men are created equal, that the spirit of our creation includes a yearning to be free.  We're the ones who stand up as pro-lifers, we're the ones who take hits and we've got some wacko Democrat going to the floor of the House saying that we are running a Holocaust when in fact if there is a Holocaust in this country it is abortion, and there is a particular party that has been responsible for pushing it.  And that would be, ahem, the Democrat Party.  The closest thing we have to a Holocaust in this country is abortion, on demand, and now we got a health care bill where there will be taxpayer dollars used to facilitate abortion.  This clown goes to the floor of the House to accuse us of what they have been doing since 1973.  As I say, Democrats kill people before they're born.  So this guy's an absolute lunatic.

Now, I remind you also that when Joe Wilson shouted "you lie" to the president from the floor of the House, what happened?  Well, a bunch of Republicans beat a path to the microphone, "Oh, no, that was wrong, oh, that was terrible, we think he should apologize," after he already apologized, "that's just unseemly, that was uncivil, that's not us, that's not who we are." They ask Elijah Cummings about this Grayson guy, "Oh, yeah, he's exactly right, I can't say I disagree with him. I got a whole bunch of my constituents in Baltimore dying because they don't have health insurance."  They circle the wagons around their own lunatics.  We throw our courageous people overboard.  We dump our courageous people faster than people swat flies and mosquitoes at a backyard barbecue.  But this is 180 degrees out of phase.  Yeah, Snerdley, I will say it again, if there is a modern day Holocaust in this country, it is abortion.  And there is a particular party that promotes it and elects candidates and nominates judges on the basis of their position.

Now, I don't want to be misunderstood here because I'm not trying to make any woman feel guilty about it. We're talking strictly politics.  But the truth is the truth.  You know one thing I've found people say to me, "Boy, Rush, you've got guts, I mean you're willing to --" no, I don't have guts.  Everybody else is scared.  Everybody else is just scared to say things.  You know, I say things that are the truth, they are simple, inarguable truths, and people think that I am using shock techniques.  That is an illustration of just how far gone we are, when the truth becomes such a shock, or when somebody dares to express it, "Oh, whoa, that's a shock," and then any conservative or Republican truth-sayer is then targeted for destruction, demonization, because the truth is the one thing that liberalism, socialism, fascism, whatever the hell you want to call it, cannot abide.  So, yeah, words mean things.  At the end of the day I hope this glittering jewel of colossal ignorance keeps piping up.  I hope he keeps speaking. I hope he goes to floor of the House and keeps talking like this.  The more he says, the more the American people are going to hear it, and the more Democrats that come out and defend him and agree with him, the more we're going to tell the American people who they are.

RUSH: Nancy Pelosi was asked about Alan Grayson.  She said, "Apparently Republicans hold Democrats to a higher standard than they hold members of their own party.  There's no reason for Mr. Grayson to apologize. If anybody should apologize everybody should apologize."  What's that, if anyone should apologize, everybody should apologize? This woman's an idiot, too, but there you go: Circling the wagons around Grayson.  Hey, frankly, folks, I don't think he should apologize either.  I get caught up in all this silly notion, "Hey, you better apologize for saying that!" He meant to say it.  Why should he apologize?  "But, Rush, he offended people."  No, he meant to offend people.  So why should he apologize?  I don't want the clown to apologize.  I want him to keep talking.  I want to encourage Mr. Grayson to keep telling it like it is.

More Details on the Democrats' Secret Scheme to Pass Obamacare
How they plan to attach Obamacare to another bill.
October 1, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: If you were not here yesterday I want to review what the tactic is in the Senate to get a health care bill on Obama's desk in the next couple of weeks.  And the source for this is the Heritage Foundation, and I've doubled checked it with a couple other people. It is exactly right. Here's how the process will work.  Harry Reid is going to put... There's a bunch of different bills that he could attach one of the Senate health care bills to as an amendment.  It was originally suspected that what Harry Reid would do would be to take a bell that the House passed long ago that's been languishing in the Senate, a bill that taxes the bones of employees who receive TARP funds.  The Senate has not acted on that.  And, remember, in the Senate everything has to get 60 votes other than budget bills. Sixty votes before final debate and final vote can take place.  It's called cloture.

And there's no way that Reid can get 60 votes on a straight, down-the-line health care reform bill. It just isn't there.  So the trick is to take a health care bill in the Senate and attach it as an amendment to another bill that could be related or unrelated.  Now, the TARP bonus bill is unrelated.  There are a couple of other bills -- "vehicles," they're being called -- that Reid could use and then call for a cloture vote.  And because it's not the overall health care bill, it's likely the cloture vote would be lost because the people who are afraid to vote for cloture on a straight health care bill could then say, "Well, we weren't voting on the health care bill. We were voting on the TARP bonus bill," or one other, two other bills that Reid might use if not the TARP bill.  So there are two health bills in the Senate: One from the Harkin committee, one from the Baucus committee.

Harry Reid takes the best of both, he merges them, creates one Senate bill and attaches that as an amendment to a bill that either has something to do with health care or in the case of the TARP bonus bill has nothing to do with health care.  And once they get cloture, he could drop that combined bill to the floor of the Senate, which includes Baucus and Harkin, and then they'd only need 50 votes to pass that final product because Biden would be there to provide 51 if necessary.  Now, one of the questions here is: Can they get Senator Byrd to the chamber?  He's in poor health.  If they can't get Byrd to the chamber, the only need 11 votes.  You have to assume they're not gonna be able to get Byrd there.  Now, we can also assume that we get all the Republicans and Ben Nelson and Blanche Lincoln; maybe Pryor, Landrieu, Bayh, McCaskill, Carper, Warner, Webb.  But the Democrat side will get Specter and Bennett and Nelson and Shaheen and Conrad -- and, in that situation, our side would lose.

There are a lot of people working behind the scenes targeting these individual Senators in a number of different ways to try to influence their votes.  But once this happens, if Reid is able to pull this off -- and, by the way, it's not guaranteed.  This is fraught with obstacles for Reid, but I'm just telling you what the latest trick is.  If, they succeed, this would then go to conference.  And the plan is for Harry Reid to drop this, say, TARP bill with the health care amendment that has passed the Senate over to Pelosi, where she would rubberstamp it in the conference. It would then be agreed to -- and no amendments can be added in conference. They're all going to be done before that.  So once the House and Senate agree: Bammo! The bill goes up to Obama's office.  So the conference report would be put in play, and at that point there still has to be a vote on the conference report.  The House and Senate both have to vote again on the final conference version, the combination of the House and Senate version.

So if Pelosi rubberstamps what Reid sends her -- and that's problematic, too, because you've got so many disparate actors over in the House. The Congressional Black Caucus, the Barney Franks of the world, they may not agree to rubberstamp depending on what's in the Senate bill that Reid sends over.  But if all this happens, then the conference bill is in play and then more lobbying will take place with all the questionable characters in the House and the Senate.  But the plan as it is now is for Pelosi to rubber stamp what Reid sends over because they're working in advance on merging these two Senate bills to have it contain pretty much similar contents to what the House bill already has.  And in this way, they get it on up there. The trick here, the trick here is that they would get to cloture without voting on a health care bill.  They would get to cloture.

They'd get 60 votes on some unrelated bill with health care attached as an amendment, thereby getting all these Democrat senators who are scared to death to vote cloture for health care off the hook 'cause they can say, "Oh, I wasn't voting on the health care bill. I was voting on TARP bonus bill."  The thing about a TARP bonus bill is who's going to vote against that on the Democrat side? Who in the world is going to vote against taxing bonuses paid to employees who work for TARP companies, people that got TARP money?  The point is, folks, they don't have 60 votes for this because the American people do not want this.  They do not want this version, either the Senate versions or the House versions. They don't have 60 votes.  Harry Reid's trying to get around getting 60 votes without having to go to reconciliation because that's dynamite potentially for them. That's a violation of Senate rules. Reconciliation, 51 votes essentially could only be used to pass budget bills, by law, by Senate rule.  So they're trying not to go that way, so this is a trick that they're trying to get around the fact nobody wants what they're concocting. It's a trick to get around this whole 60 votes business.  I explained this in the first hour of yesterday. Susan called late in the show and cited it right down the line, almost verbatim.  It was a beautiful thing.  She got it, which means a lot of other people got it, which means the country is even more wired against this today.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  I don't know if it was the last liberal attached amendment trick to major legislation, but I do know that the Boland Amendment caused chaos and roiled this country.  Do you remember what the Boland Amendment was?  The Boland Amendment was an amendment -- back in the mid-eighties -- that was attached to a budget bill, and the Boland bill prohibited any financial aid to the freedom fighters in Nicaragua, the Contras.  They attached it, this is something that they didn't vote on specifically in the House, they voted on a budget bill, they attached it, and remember all the hell it caused.  Some were saying that it was even unconstitutional at the time.  But that was again when the Democrats back in the eighties were siding with a communist satellite, a Soviet satellite nation of Nicaragua under the tyranny of Daniel Ortega who is, by the way, back now and yuks it up with Barack Obama when they have meetings down there in Central and South America.

So here we have an attached amendment trick where Harry Reid is doing his best to try to avoid having to get 60 votes.  They don't have 60 votes.  I should add this.  The head count right now is they've got 58 votes for cloture on a straight down-the-line vote on either of the two health care bills in the Senate.  They don't have 60 so they can't go the normal way.  Health care, you know, taking over one-sixth of the economy as an amendment to a totally unrelated bill that will be easier to get cloture, and that's the trick, that is what they're doing, they are scheming against us, the American people.  They know full well -- these people read polls better than you and I do -- and they know full well what our sentiments are.  We want no part of this, and the numbers of people that want no part of this grow each and every day, hence the hurry and the speed and the necessity to get this done under parliamentary tricks.  There's nothing about this, folks, that's illegal, I don't want to stress that they're violating any rules.  They would be skirting that if they went the reconciliation route.  They don't want to do that, that is their last option.  Reconciliation is simply, you know, budgets, that's a constitutional requirement, so throw the 60 votes out, just 51 majority, simply majority to pass that, and that's what they're looking for to pass health care, and they're trying to get it by having one-sixth of the economy being taken over as an amendment to some unrelated bill.

This is all a coordinated effort with Pelosi and Obama and people in the White House.  So that is the status of things here.  But as is the case, they don't operate in secret anymore.  They don't get away with doing this stuff in a clandestine way where people don't find out about it.  People do find out about it, and it is simple to understand, when it's explained properly, it is simple to understand.  So the Democrat Party and the left once again showing they have no respect for the will or the desires of the American people.  Representative republic with a small R, an obstacle to these people.  Your liberty is an obstacle to these people.  Your freedom of choice is an obstacle to the Democrat Party in 2009 and has been for years.

Sarah Palin and Fox News Sell Because Conservatism is Popular
Make no mistake: Conservatism is on the ascendancy.
October 1, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: "Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin this week will begin accepting and rejecting the more than 1,070 invitations she has received for paid speeches and political appearances since she resigned from office, aides said. Twenty speakers’ bureaus made offers to represent her. ...  More than 950 requests for speeches have poured in for Palin, and over 120 candidates for office have asked her to appear, including folks running for Senate, House and state Legislature, aides said." It was just yesterday, Page Six in the New York Post ran a story from an unidentified source who said that nobody wants her. She's a blithering idiot. People are afraid to book her. She can't get request to do a speech. They're asking a hundred grand for speeches she can't get one invitation.  There's a story last night from the mainstream media. Not even the mainstream media was buying it you don't get a $7 million advance from a liberal publishing company if nobody wants you.

And then the latest news:  "A publishing industry source [said] that they 'cannot remember a non-fiction book taking off like this in the pre-order market. It became number one only a couple of hours after nothing more than a date announcement. It is truly unprecedented.'"  "Two days after the release date of Sarah Palin's book was announced, it's already become the top seller at both Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com," and it hasn't even gone to press yet, or maybe it's at press now.  "Palin's publisher announced Monday that the former governor of Alaska and Republican vice presidential candidate had finished her memoir, 'Going Rogue: An American Life,' early and was moving the release date up from the spring to November 17. A Palin source told POLITICO that she 'is very grateful' for the strong early sales.

"'This book has taken off like a rocket,' the source said. HarperCollins will print 1.5 million copies for the book's first run, the same number that was printed for late Sen. Ted Kennedy's," whose I think the first week that book sold 68,000, Beck was twice that and now Sarah Palin's book.  Can I ask a question?  I was looking at television ratings last night.  MSNBC has fallen into third place.  Do you realize how hard that is to do?  As weak as CNN is, MSNBC has fallen to third place.  Fox News in primetime has more audience than Headline News, MSNBC, and CNN combined.  Liberals publish books and nobody buys them!  Conservatism, if you want to use the popular vernacular, has a whole bunch of stars right now, both media and literary.  Where are these liberal stars?  Where are these liberal media stars?  They're nowhere to be found.  Their books don't sell.  Their networks don't get ratings.  Their magazines are losing circulation.

I saw the other day where TimeWarner may spin off the magazine division.  That's TIME and People and Fortune and all that.  I got to thinking: Where are all these liberal media stars?  Do you realize how much media is dominated by our guys these days?  You look at our bench of potential presidential candidates. It's a pretty good bench.  You got Pawlenty, you've got Romney, you've got Palin. I'm leaving some people out.  Who do they have, after Obama?  Who do they have?  Hillary?  Reid?  Pelosi?  Boxer?  Who do they have?  Warner of Virginia? Yeah, big whoop.  Let him write a book and let it show up. Biden's book? Biden's at like 400 some odd thousand on Amazon.  So then you ask yourself: "How in the hell did these people win the election?"  And then you say: "No, how did these people get ten million votes more than our candidate?"  And the answer becomes obvious: Our candidate.  Our candidate.  This is a story of how we lost the election, how our party squandered a goldmine because they were trying to diminish and get rid of the conservative element of the Republican Party and that's why where we are we are.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  When's the last liberal media star to sell a million books anything, like Levin has done?  I mean, nobody's done that.  Do you realize the biggest liberal media star right now is the bloated bigot Michael Moore?  But... (interruption) Right.  The movie is not selling that well, but that's it: Where are all these supposed stars?  These are the dominant people, the dominant culture. They're the ones that have it. Where are they?  We're outclassing them and outperforming them left and right.

RUSH: Bob in Fargo, North Dakota, welcome, sir, to the Rush Limbaugh program.  Hi.

CALLER:  Hello, Maha Rushie.

RUSH:  Hi.

CALLER:  Conservative Kanye dittos from Fargo.

CALLER:  Thank you, sir.

RUSH:  You know, Mick you were good, you were great in your time, Mick from the high hills of New Mexico.

RUSH:  High mountains of New Mexico.

CALLER:  You ain't no Sue from Glendale.

RUSH:  Well, Mick has passed away, so --

CALLER:  I know.  I know, and I say that with ultimate respect.

RUSH:  Right.

CALLER:  What I want to say about Sue from Glendale -- I am a boy named Sue, by the way.  And she was phenomenal.  I think, Rush, you lead us so much into humor and good times and fun, and you told and articulated in the first hour yesterday the TARP bill and the tactic and the strategy that we are now all waiting for to happen next week and I think she just -- I loved her, though.  She was phenomenal.

RUSH:  You know, you've hit on something here.  I gotta tell you a little story about this.  A friend of mine in Kansas sent me a note, said, "I'm getting phone calls from friends and family talking about how great that call was, and I keep saying to them, 'Don't you realize that it was the Rush Limbaugh show?'"  And he asked me, "Are you not a little upset about this?"  I said, "Why would I be upset?  Just the exact opposite."  The first hour of the program I laid it all out.  In the third hour of the program Susan calls and, rat-tat-tat-tat-tat, A through Z, passion without stuttering.  I always say here that one of the great things we do on this program is make the complex understandable.  The idea here is to spread education, information, understanding of complex things in an understandable way so that people end up informed.  I mean yesterday was a home run all the way around.  I didn't have to say a word when she was on the phone.  I didn't even talk.  She just talked us right into the break.

That call, I am still getting e-mails about it from people who are just now listening to the program yesterday via podcast or the video stream from RushLimbaugh.com yesterday.  I mean it was a clear home run, but what it illustrates to me is, is that all of this can be made understandable.  And when people find out about it, because they're informed to begin with, they're educated to begin with, when they find out about it they're outraged.  And that passion, you know, she kept saying on the air, "What can I do?  I'm just a lone little voice out here, I don't know what I can do to rally anybody."  And she rallied millions yesterday with her phone call.  As I say, we're still getting phone calls about it today and we have not replayed that phone call, folks.  It's on the website, we put it on the free side at RushLimbaugh.com by executive order from me yesterday, but it was really great.  It was a fabulous day.  I'm glad all of you recognized it for what it was.

By the way, she is a subscriber at RushLimbaugh.com.  I got an e-mail from her last night.  Well, about four o'clock yesterday afternoon.  It was about an hour after the program ended I got an email.  She was, "Thank you so much for giving me so much time.  I can't tell you how upset I was when I heard what you said.  But thank you so much because --" And then apparently she'd been hearing -- in fact, I'm getting e-mails from people in Toluca Lake, which is right next to Glendale, who want to meet this woman and who want her to go with them to the next tea party or congressional town hall out there.  So, anyway, win-win, glad you noticed it out there, Bob.

National Hemorrhoid Full of Crap
Jimmy Carter denies he said what he said about race.
October 1, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  Jimmy Carter is denying that he said what he said.  On CNN's American Morning, the correspondent Candy Crowley interviewed the National Hemorrhoid, Jimmy Carter.  She said, "Mr. [National Hemorrhoid,] let me ask you first domestically.  You made some remarks recently about you how you felt about the protesters that were protesting against President Obama.  You said overall you thought the protesters were upset he was black, there was racism involved.  That you said many people --"

CARTER:  That was not what I said.

CROWLEY:  Okay.

CARTER:  I said those on the fringe element that had vituperative personal attacks on President Obama.  Those were the ones that I included, but I --

CROWLEY:  Your first remarks were that overall --

CARTER:  No, it wasn't.  If you read the remarks carefully, you'll see that that's not what I said.  I said those that had a personal vituperative attack on President Obama as a person, that was tinged with racism.  But I recognize that people who disagree with him on health care or environment or things like that, that vast majority of those are not tinged by racism.

RUSH:  Okay, so the vituperative personal attacks were the ones he was talking about.  He did not say overall.  Let's go back and listen to what he said on the NBC Nightly News on September 15th.

CARTER:  I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man.  I live in the south, and I've seen the south come a long way, and I've seen the rest of the country that shared the south's attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African-Americans, that racism in connection still exists, and I think it's bubbled up to the surface because of a belief among many white people, not just in the south but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country.  It's an abominable circumstance and grieves me and concerns me very deeply.

RUSH:  Well, now, it sounds to me like he said what he said, it sounds like his denial is full of crap.  "No, it wasn't if you read the remarks carefully you'll see that it's not what I said.  I said that those had a personal vituperative attack on President Obama as a person was tinged with racism, but I recognize people who disagree --" blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.  Let me try this, President Carter.  Because, frankly, I, ladies and gentlemen, as a conservative, as a man, as a Republican, as a citizen, and as your host, I have had it with race-baiters.  In 21 years I have had my fill of it, and I rarely have my fill of anything, but I have had my fill of this, this race crap.  Turning analysis of the so-called health care reform or health insurance reform or the Porkulus bill or cap and trade or whatever the focus groups say they should call it has nothing to do with the president's color of origin.

Nancy Pelosi is not black.  Harry Reid is not black.  George Soros is not black.  Max Baucus is not black.  Steny Hoyer is not black.  George Soros is still not black.  Barney Frank is not black.  Chris Dodd is not black.  Jay Rockefeller is not black.  Chuck Schumer would be black if it would give him more face time on TV, but even he is not black.  The only black and white here -- and I want you to listen to me very carefully -- the only black and white here is that all of these so-called reforms have nothing to do with reform and everything to do with liberals seizing more control of your lives.  That's the only black and white, and it is crystal clear.  Health care is not about health care.  Health insurance reform is not about health insurance reform.  Cap and trade is not about saving the freaking climate, which is not endangered.  Porkulus is not about creating jobs.  TARP was not about bailing out the world financial system.

None of this is what it's about.  That's what's black and white.  What's black and white is that health care's not about anything it claims to be.  This has nothing whatsoever to do with race.

Obama Puts Afghanistan on Back Burner Until Obamacare Passes
Gibbs: Obama will take "weeks" to decide what to do.
October 1, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Now, Bob Gibbs, Robert Gibbs, the most brilliant, qualified press spokesman we've ever had, yesterday in Washington at the White House briefing, Chip Reid of CBS said, "On the Afghanistan meetings, do you anticipate these going on and on indefinitely with no time frame whatsoever?"  Meaning the strategy meetings with the generals, is it completely open-ended time-wise?

GIBBS:  We're going to take the time that's necessary to get the policy right.

REID:  Could that be into next year?

GIBBS:  I doubt it, no.  I think -- I think I've said earlier a number of weeks.

REID:  Could it be a number of months, could it be two months, can you give any kind of clarity on that?

GIBBS:  No.

RUSH:  So the headline today after the press secretary's statement was:  "Obama to take weeks to study Afghan strategy."  Now, if we had real journalists and real news editors, you know what the headline would be?  "Obama tells Afghanistan to shove it until after Obamacare passes."  What if Mahmoud Ahmadinejad pulls an Obama on Obama?  After the meeting today, what if Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says, "Well, it'll take weeks to study the West's proposals."  Will our media say, "Well, like, are you talking months, into next year?"  And Ahmadinejad would shoot them.  I think we've got a new television show here in the making, folks.  Dancing with politicians who stall for time.  We all know that Afghanistan's on the back burner until he gets this health care thing passed, pure and simple.

Charlie Gibson, Then and Now
Same unemployment. Same reporter. Different years.
October 1, 2009

Video at link below.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Now, I want to go back tow 1982, May 7th, ABC News. At the time Charles Gibson was a correspondent.  Peter Jennings was the anchor of the ABC World News Tonight.  In 1982 there was a recession, and the same level of unemployment then as now.  And here is Charles Gibson in 1982 reporting the level of unemployment at close to what it is today when Ronald Reagan was president.

GIBSON 1982: (downcast music) There really isn't any good news in the statistics.  All the numbers are bad.  Teenagers who will be coming on the job market in even greater numbers come June: 23% unemployed.  Black teenage unemployment is 48.1%.  And unemployment among adult men is 8.2%, the highest since World War II.  Normally in spring unemployment comes down as opportunities for outdoor work become available, but not this year: 450,000 more people are unemployed than were a month ago.

RUSH:  It's 551,000 per month now and 450,000 people in 1982.  "All numbers are bad," teenage employment, 23%.  It's 52% today!  Here's Charles Gibson June 5th, 2009, reporting on an unemployment rate of 9.4%.

GIBSON 2009: (bouncy music) In the current economic environment, sometimes a bad jobs report can look good!  345,000 American workers lost their jobs in May. A big number to be sure, traumatic if you're one of the 345,000, but the number was smaller than economists had predicted, and that's good news!

RUSH:  So you see the difference, June 5th of 2009, "Not all economic news is bought, and not all bad news is bad.  Sometimes bad jobs report can look good!" In 1982, "All the numbers are bad."  Same guy, same network, just 27 years apart.

A Laughable Obama Bite on Jobs
He says he won't rest until every American has a job.
October 1, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  Folks, do you want to laugh?

OBAMA:  We're putting Americans back to work doing the work that America needs done: Rebuilding roads, bridges, uhh, and new schools, and all manner of construction projects across all 50 states.  I'm not going to rest. I know the governors and candidates here are not going to rest, and I know that the American people are not going to rest until everybody who's looking for work can find a job.

RUSH:  He must be building a road to the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor 'cause they got like $2 million of stimulus money.  Have you ever heard anything more ridiculous?

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

This is Obama at the fundraiser for the Democrat governors association.  This is just... You know, I remember saying when I first started this program back in 1988, "Liberals are hilarious and fun when they're out of power.  When they're in power, they are dangerous."  Never more so has that been illustrated than now.  Now, you and I all know that of the Porkulus package that was authorized for expenditure, not even 4% of it has been spent.

We know that grants have gone to the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes for Health.  We learned yesterday that a couple of million dollars went to the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor.  We learned that a million and a half went to some scientist at Oklahoma State to study Alaskan grandparents.  We have heard other examples of all the stimulus money, but Caterpillar is not rehiring workers. They're still letting workers go.  We have not seen any "shovel-ready projects" get underway.  The stimulus was to put people back at work, shovel-ready construction projects. We were going to rebuild the roads and schools.  You remember all of that?  None of it is happening!  It's 561,000... What was the number. I don't want to get this wrong.  The new unemployment numbers today were -- da-da-da-da-da -- yeah, can't find it. I buried it in the stack.  Another 500,000-plus jobs lost last month, and yet Obama says to the Democratic Governors Association fundraiser this just this afternoon.

RUSH:  Why are you going to Copenhagen, then?  You're not gonna rest until everybody who wants a job can find one?  We had 551,000 jobs lost! It's an "unexpected increase," according to the State-Controlled Associated Press.  We're not putting Americans back to work. We're not doing the work America needs to be done.  This unemployment no one is great news for Obama! He is purposeful doing this, destroying the private sector.  There aren't any roads being rebuilt, not with stimulus money.  There aren't any bridges.  Schools? All manner of construction projects?  The guy lives in a bubble. He really does believe that if he says it, you'll believe it despite what you see with your own eyes.

RUSH: This is Tammy in Vestal, New York.  Welcome to the EIB Network.  Hello.

CALLER:  Hey, Rush.  How are you?

RUSH:  Great.  Thank you.

CALLER:  Listen, I just wanted to totally thank you for letting Susan from California have her little say yesterday.  I was listening to your program, cleaning my house, and I was in absolute tears listening to this woman.  And I want to thank you for letting her do that because, number one, she needed to vent and you gave her a forum to do that, and that was your good deed for the day, number one.  And number two, my husband and I are raising a nine-year-old little girl, and we try very hard every day to teach her to be a good person and to behave properly and to act like a young lady in this world.  And everybody's going crazy, with the government, everyone is losing their collective minds, and it is so nice to hear someone out there who's normal.  And that little piece of information gave me more hope than Obama could ever give me.  And I just want to thank you for that.

RUSH:  Well, that's very kind of you.  I really appreciate that.  That's a kind assessment.  You got a nine-year-old little girl, you said?

CALLER:  Yes, sir.

RUSH:  Okay, Roman Polanski drugs, rapes a 13-year-old, Whoopi Goldberg said, "That's not rape-rape," and all of Hollywood is coming out to defend him, Roman Polanski, for what happened in 1977.  You've got a little nine-year-old girl.  What do you think of that when Hollywood, the Hollywood culture, all these left-wingers for some reason, their guard posts are down, and they're vomiting exactly who they are.  Date rape, 13-year-old rape, rape-rape, whatever you call it, drugging a 13-year-old girl for sex, fine and dandy, don't you dare put him in jail for that!

CALLER:  It's crazy.  And to be perfectly honest with you, Hollywood disgusts me.  I can't even hardly bring myself to go to a movie, and even a movie that I'm interested in, because the first thing I think of is, who is in this movie, have they irritated me recently, and if so, game over, I want no part of it.

RUSH:  Well, it's interesting times.  I never thought that I would see the left be this open about who they are and what they believe and what they want.  So I hope they keep talking.  Thanks, Tammy.

This is David, Jupiter, Florida, right up the road -- by the way, have you guys heard -- David, welcome to the program.  Great to have you here.

CALLER:  It's a pleasure to speak with you.

RUSH:  You live anywhere near the Bears Club by any chance?

CALLER:  I know the Bears Club.  I think you're thinking of the Waxahachie Club, though, possibly.

RUSH:  No, no, no, I'm thinking of the Bears Club because Michael Jordan is building a huge house, he's bought two lots there at the Bears Club.  The local media is aghast over this.  Jordan's building some 30,000 square foot house with a cottage and a guard gate.  You could put Barkley in there as the guard, Milk Dud head.  But the average house size out there is 10,000 square feet and the environmentalist wackos have gone nuts, "Nobody needs that much, nobody needs that much space," and it's two lots there, the Bears Club.  Everybody is just going nuts about it. I've got the story here in the stack of stuff.  A couple of more things to say about it, but I know that's not why you called, what's up?

CALLER:  We'll be glad to have Michael in the neighborhood.  He's a great guy, and my call is regarding the Polanski case and hearing the reference yesterday, it's not really a rape-rape.  At 53 I don't get outraged or surprised too much anymore, but I'm a parent with teenaged daughter, and a family member of a violent crimes victim so I would suggest that Whoopi maybe needs to take a reality check.  If she had children, I don't know what her marital status is or et cetera, but if she had a 13-year-old she wouldn't send her to a champagne Quaalude party at Jack Nicholson's home with some over 40-year-old men.

RUSH:  But Jack Nicholson wasn't there.  The Hollywood community goes out of their way to point out that Jack wasn't there when Roman Polanski did what he did.  Jack wasn't there.  Don't include Jack in there.  It's just his house.  Jack wasn't there, Polanski did what he did.  Now, here's Whoopi Goldberg who routinely gets on this case about women's rights and how unfair women are treated in this country -- I mean, these people, if you don't study them like I do, you scratch your head and say, who are these people?  It's not really rape-rape?  Thirteen-year-old girl drugged, not really rape-rape, Whoopi Goldberg said?  You got Scorsese, Woody Allen, Pedro Almodovar all saying this is senseless, senseless, why would you bring Polanski -- they're telling us all who they are.  Now, I study these people and I know them, and none of this surprises me about them.  This is who they are.  It has been 21 years trying to convince people of this that's been the challenge.  But now I've got the best assistance I could ever have, and that's them and their own mouths, from this doofus Alan Grayson on the floor of the House, to Pelosi, to Harry Reid.  I mean to Michelle Obama with this sacrifice that she and Barack are making to go to Copenhagen to pitch the Olympics for Chicago.

RUSH: Bremerton, Washington.  Laura, you're next.  It's great to have you with us today.

CALLER:  Thank you, Rush.  It's an honor to speak with you.

RUSH:  Thank you very much, yeah.

CALLER:  I've been trying to get through for months and months.

RUSH:  Well, you made it. Thank you very much.

CALLER: Ha! Thank you.

RUSH:  Yes.

CALLER:  I want to compliment you on what you do for us.  You tell it like it is.  You're not afraid to let people know exactly what's going on. You're not afraid to call a liar a liar, a cheat a cheat, or a traitor a traitor.  And there are so many of us out here that do agree with you, so, please, just keep up the good work. Please doing what you're doing, and I wish your Limbaugh Letter came out more than once a month. (chuckles) I read it so fast, I enjoy it so much.  I agree with you on the Obamas.  They are two of the most angry, pathetic people that it has ever been my sorry misfortune to see.  And a quick word about Whoopi Goldberg.  She sees absolutely nothing wrong with the rape of a 13-year-old child --

RUSH:  Well, now, what --

CALLER:  -- but she thinks it's terrible for people to pick their nose?  Have you ever read her book?

RUSH:  No-o-o. (laughs)

CALLER:  My gosh, she is offended that people pick their noses!

RUSH:  You mean in public?

CALLER:  Anywhere.

RUSH:  Well, now, now, wait now, see, for Whoopi to be offended at that she would have to have seen people pick their nose --

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Which would mean they were doing it in their presence which might send her a message.

CALLER:  It just might.  You know, but that's what she says in that book, you know.

RUSH:  As to the... Whoopi is trying to split hairs on this.  She says in her defense -- because people say, "What do you mean 'it wasn't rape-rape'?" Whoopi is saying that she was speaking legalistically about the difference between rape and the specific charge of "unlawful sex with a minor."

CALLER:  Oh.

RUSH:  And she's saying she was misunderstood.  When she said, "It wasn't 'rape-rape,'" what she meant was unlawful sex with a minor.  Now, to me it's a difference without a distinction.

CALLER:  What is the meaning of "is"?

RUSH:  The initial charge included sodomy. And I'm sure Whoopi is a feminist.  And we all know that the feminists have... Well, what was it? Catharine MacKinnon who taught law at the University of Michigan actually was teaching female students in the class -- this is back in the early nineties -- that all sex is rape, even the sex in marriage, because it all involves domination.  So the feminists, I mean, I don't think the feminists are going to draw the fine line distinction that Whoopi is drawing here.  All these leftists, I don't care whether we're in employment or whether they're in politics they circle the wagons. Even if they're news.  You know, Dan Rather makes up a whole story about Bush and the National Guard, and they gave him an award!  Peter Jennings and Tom Brokaw chaired a big awards ceremony to circle the wagons around Dan Rather on that because what these people are doing is protecting their industry, in their own minds.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Do you remember Blazing Saddles? Do you remember that movie?  Blazing Saddles is one of my all-time favorite movies. Do you know why?  Not just 'cause it was funny.  Blazing Saddles literally just stood political correctness on its head.  It made fun of everything.  And one of my favorite scenes -- and this is apropos of the Roman Polanski situation.  One of my favorite scenes is when Hedley Lamarr (played by Harvey Korman) is signing up crooks and thugs to hunt down Sheriff Bart, who had escaped Rock Ridge.  They hired the first black sheriff in Rock Ridge.

And of course the town folk were just all upset about this, and they eventually drove the sheriff outta town, Sheriff Bart.  And this lineup of crooks and thugs is being interviewed by Hedley Lamarr, who was the assistant to Governor Le Petomane (played by Mel Brooks) and they're all in line to be interviewed to be part of a gang.  Hedley Lamarr said to one of the guys, "Okay, qualifications?" And the applicant says, Rape, murder, arson, and rape," and Hedley Lamarr says, "Wait a minute, you said rape twice," and the applicant says, "I like rape."  And when I watched this in the theaters back in the days when I went to the theater, the audience just laughed crazy.  It was funny.  Why?  Because a rapist was one of the boys.

Hedley Lamarr had found just the kind of guy he was looking for for his gang to go track down Sheriff Bart.  A rapist was one of the boys, is being recruited for a job after admitting he liked to rape women and everybody around approved.  Now, Roman Polanski could play that applicant and Whoopi Goldberg could play one of the thugs in line laughing her butt off.  Although if Polanski was in the movie... Here's the line.  If Polanski were in the movie, this is what it would be like.

Hedley Lamarr would say, "Gualifications?"

Applicant:  "Rape, murder, arson, rape."

Hedley Lamarr: "You said rape twice."

Applicant: "I like rape, but not rape-rape."

Now, Blazing Saddles was the epitome of political incorrectness.  It was inconceivable that a rapist was just one of the boys. That's what made it funny.  It was inconceivable that a rapist would be one of the boys chosen by an assistant to the governor of some western town or state to go after the black sheriff.  Well, Whoopi Goldberg -- who, according to the birth records is a woman -- wants to make sure that the country isn't unfair when judging Roman Polanski.  He didn't commit "rape-rape."  He's just one of the boys. (sigh) I wasn't going to talk about this.  I'm just reminded of this because all this stuff has come up with Whoopi now saying: Ah, I was just speaking legalese here. Sex with a minor is not same thing as rape and so forth.  By the way, speaking more on this Peg Yorkin, founder of the Feminist Majority Foundation -- and you know who also one of the prominent members of the Feminist Majority Foundation was Eleanor "Squeal," who was a former member of the feminazis.

She was a former president of the NOW gang, the NAGs, National Association of Gals.  And she was asked about this Roman Polanski thing.  She's now founder of the Feminist Majority Foundation. She said: "My personal thoughts are let the guy go. It's bad a person was raped." It's bad a person was raped. "But that was so many years ago. The guy has been through so much in his life. It's crazy to arrest him now. Let it go. The government could spend its money on other things." That's where the feminazis are today.  "It's bad a person was raped, but that was so many years ago. The guy has been through so much in his life."  Just like there was no compassion for Paula Jones, where's the compassion for that 13-year-old girl?  Juanita Broaddrick, alleged rape by Bill Clinton, who said he said, "Put some ice on your lip."  They went after Juanita Broaddrick, not Bill Clinton.

Caller Requests No-Obama Day
Can we do a broadcast without mentioning The One?
October 1, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Mariel in Rehoboth, Massachusetts.  Welcome to the EIB Network.  Hello.

CALLER:  Hi, Rush.

RUSH:  Hey.

CALLER:  I'm so angry right now. First, I'm going to preface by saying I need to ask you a huge favor.

RUSH:  What's that?

CALLER:  Well, first let me tell you where I'm going with this.  For the first time in my 51 years I am actually voting against the United States.  I am hoping that the United States does not get the honor of hosting the Olympics.

RUSH:  Wait a second.  Are you saying you want the United States and specifically Chicago to fail?

CALLER:  Yes, I do.  I really do.  And I'm sick about it.  I'm at the point now where I'm so appalled, I Googled "poor housing, Chicago and rat trap" and I got a list of people who are responsible and who are Obama backers who right now have really inhabitable houses that they stand to make millions and millions of dollars if Chicago gets the Olympics.

RUSH:  I know.

CALLER:  And these are houses that they bought with ACORN funding.

RUSH:  I know.

CALLER:  And it is so sad that we --

RUSH:  Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.  Gotta take a break, hold on.  When we come back I want to hear what your favor is.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  Okay, we go back to Mariel in Rehoboth, Massachusetts.  What's the favor that you wanted to ask me?

CALLER:  Well, first, I'm embarrassed to ask you because with all you do you don't need people calling you up and asking you for favors.

RUSH:  So why are you?

CALLER:  Well, because I think you need this, too.

RUSH:  Ooooh, yeah.

CALLER:  I think we need a little vacation of fun for a day and I don't know, Rush, in your great wit and humor, give us a day just free of stress and strife. I'm so angry my stomach hurts, and I don't think I've missed a day since 1988 when my kids were babies of listening to you, and I will continue to listen to you forever, but my most fun days are the days when you're making fun of those that we love to hear you make fun of.  So I'm just asking for maybe just an hour of a no-Obama time where we just maybe look back on your greatest, just your best stuff and kind of laugh and recharge our happy batteries.  Does that sound very liberal?  I hope not.

RUSH:  Well, I will get e-mails from people accusing you of being a seminar caller asking me to take a hike at the peak of my effectiveness.

CALLER:  Oh, never, Rush, never, ever, ever.  No, no, no, no, no.  From 12 to three I even schedule my clients so that I don't take any clients between 12 and three.  I just need -- I'm so stressed out with all of this --

RUSH:  I know --

CALLER:  -- and so absolutely angry.

RUSH:  Well, everybody wants to laugh.  You want to be happy and so forth.

CALLER:  Well, even just for a half hour.

RUSH:  Well, I'm working on a full three hours.  It's a project much more difficult than I thought it would be, prepping three hours with virtually no mention of Obama.

CALLER:  It's difficult.

RUSH:  Yes.

CALLER:  Even if you just replayed your Jay Leno visit, because you looked so hot, Rush, really, really, hot.

RUSH:  (laughing.)

CALLER:  So there you go, that will tell you that I'm not a seminar caller.  Wow.  So even if that was just played over and over again.

RUSH:  What are they doing, they're replaying the takeoff of Sully Sullenberger.  Are they hoping the birds will hit on the video replay?  What are they doing here?  It's amazing.  They've got somebody on the phone from Charlotte ready to report that Sully Sullenberger landed safely with no bird attacks in Charlotte, North Carolina.  It's like standing on the beach saying no hurricane yet, which distresses them, by the way.  All right, Mariel, I hear what you're saying, lighthearted, jocular day.  Tomorrow is Open Line Friday.  I'll tell you what I'll do.  I'll stay up 'til six in the morning, I'll stay up 'til five in the morning, I got plenty to do, I'll get two, two-and-a-half hours sleep, because when that happens I'm always giddy, I'm always in a giddy, lighthearted mood and I'll give that a shot and maybe, who knows, tomorrow might be the day. I can't promise I won't have any mentions of Obama, it's too crucial, but, can I do that?  Yeah, I can do that because I'll have a chance to sleep in Saturday.

I'm going to Pittsburgh Saturday for the Steelers-Chargers on Sunday night, but not leaving until the afternoon sometime on Saturday. (interruption) What could be sad?  Pittsburgh and the Chargers, sad for me?  What, you think the Chargers are going to win, Snerdley?  Is that what you're talking about?  Of course they could, any given Sunday.  Of course the Chargers could.  I don't think so.  I know Steelers are 1-2 but they lost two on the road, now they come home, Sunday night Pittsburgh, primetime.  Chargers have never won a regular season game in Pittsburgh.  Now, wait a minute.  Is that they've never won a regular season game in Pittsburgh or they've never won a regular season game on Heinz Field?  I'm going to have to double-check.  They have won playoff games there, but they haven't won regular season games.  (laughing)  Keep going, Snerdley.  He's goading me in here.  "Hey, your Steelers have the same record as the Detroit Lions."  Yeah.  Well, we'll see.  Oh, now he's "Lucky to win the first one, eh, against the Tennessee Titans overtime, right?"  Lucky to win the first time I'm being told. Should be 0-3, is that right? Steelers should be 0-3?  And you're a fan of who?  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers who amassed 38 yards of total offense or 60 some odd yards in total offense last week?  And you're jamming me about the Steelers?

Barney Gavels ACORN Question
Another Barney Frank fit with the chairman's gavel.
October 1, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This morning in Washington, the House Financial Services Committee hearing chaired by Barney Frank, the Banking Queen.  He was talking to the Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke who was testifying.  Michele Bachmann, Republican, member of the committee said, "If you would first comment to me on Mr. Zoellick's comments what your feelings are about replacing the dollar as international currency as potentially a new currency -- and then if you would comment also on whether or not, in your opinion, ACORN would be covered by the new CFPAs."

FRANK:  Well, the I -- I would just point out, there's only three seconds remaining. So I don't think --

BACHMANN:  If I could have my time reclaimed so that my time would be used by the gentleman.

FRANK:  No, you can't.

BACHMANN:  Will this come from my time?

FRANK: (banging gavel) (Bang! Bang!)

BACHMAN: Would this --

FRANK: No! (Bang!)

BACHMAN: Will this come from my time, Mr. Chairman?

FRANK:  No, your time has... No... I, eh... I will finish, please.  You... I've asked people before.  There, er, are only three seconds left in your time when you got them.  I can let him go on for a little while, but not... I don't think he can give full answers to both questions.  This practice of going right up to the end and then taking another minute or two is unfair to other members.  I'll give Mr. Bernanke 30 seconds to answer as much as he can and the rest in writing.

RUSH:  Bang! Bang! Gavel. "You're not going to answer that ACORN question, Ben Bernanke! That was the point of that.  So once again, Barney Frank -- who loves shutting down Republicans, whether he's running the House, the whole House, or whether he's running his entire committee.
