The Department of Justice has hired a team of partisan Democrat campaign bloggers to work at the Department.....Tracy Russo is one such blogger from the campaign of John Edwards. The unit is housed in the Office of Public Affairs....They are also tasked with posting anonymous comments, or comments under pseudonyms, at newspaper websites with stories critical of the Department of Justice, Holder and President Obama....There is clearly a designed effort to rebut stories that are exposing the Holder Justice Department as more political than the last. Weve seen a change in the pattern of anonymous emails we receive and comments posted at our papers webpage.

PRAVDA LIVES
This absolutely the real deal by the way. Please folks, start investigating, send it to newspapers, whatever you gotta do. We can’t allow our tax dollars to be used against us.
Why don’t they just do the right thing, instead of doing the wrong thing and then spinning it. It’s alot cheaper
( for us )
NEA, DoJ...next?
Where do we begin? Help me get started!
Just send it to your newspapers, email your friends (God I hate saying that by the way...but this is for real). Whatever. Please note that this guy seems to know a lot about the DOJ, just read through all his other articles (skim them). One of them was reported by Rush not 20 minutes after I posted his article here, some months back. That was the one where Holder said whites/Christians wouldn’t be protected under hate crime legislation.
I was hoping this was satire. Doesn’t appear to be.
Is it legal?
Ya, this isn’t satire. I have a satire blog that I write for, which may confuse some folks granted, but this is the real deal.
Not certain, I’m no legal guy. But “anonymous bloggers” posting for the government to make Obama and Holder look good is certainly creepy as hell.
Wow. First the NEA and now this.
The government and The Party are now one and the same.
Turning government agencies into a part of the Democrat Party is not legal. But whose going to stop them?

Tracy Russo currently directs the new media strategy at the United States Department of Justice. Prior to joining the Justice Department she formed Russo Strategies, LLC, a progressive political consulting firm that specialized in new media strategies.
During the 2008 presidential primary, as the chief blogger and deputy director of online communications for the John Edwards campaign, she directed and executed an online communications and outreach strategy. She also helped to develop and execute an aggressive online fundraising strategy and mobile media plan.
Prior to joining the Edwards campaign, Russo worked at the DNC. She has been a featured speaker at the YearlyKos Convention, the Take Back America Conference and the Center for American Progress' Internet Advocacy Roundtable and Personal Democracy Forum. In addition, she has worked partnership with a variety of organizations, including the DNC, DLCC, EMILY's List, Campaigns and Elections Magazine, and the New Organizing Institute and George Washington University training individuals at home and abroad in the best practices of online engagement .
Nice work!
They’ve been doing this for two years on the CBS website. I called them on it because there was one guy with multiple nic names posting 24/7 through the campaign, and now the administration. Every time I mentioned it in a post, CBS banned me. I’ve been banned over 350 times by CBS, including three times yesterday after posting negative comments regarding this administration and the democratic hypocrites.
Their ilk were caught on several blogspots, including our own, and quickly banned. One woman who started posting on obamacrimes.com claimed to be a lawyer and kept making ridiculus legal assumptions about Berg’s cases. She also was posting 24/7 which puzzled me regarding the obvious neglect of her legal practice. When our website opened she followed us over there and we were able to get her ISP address and traced it to some small time political candidate assistance group and come to find out she answered the phones there.
These people are rabid, almost like an infestation of bad bugs or something. Also, reminds me of a pack of hyaenas ripping and tearing at flesh intent on destroying free thinking individuals.
Wow, this is all news to me. I guess it should have been obvious that this kind of stuff was going on.
| WHOA this is not right and I bet there are some LEGAL and codified ethical breeches with this as well! This is PROPAGANDA, just like the National Endowment for the Arts scandal, by our own government against the First Amendment and MORE SPECIFICALLY, by our Justice Department which should be politically-neutral. Here's the whole text: Anonymous DOJ Blogger Campaign Attacks Media and Critics Exclusive News from the Muffled Oar
The Department of Justice has hired a team of partisan Democrat campaign bloggers to work at the Department. The Muffled Oar has learned this decision was treated with a great deal of skepticism both inside the career ranks at the Department but also among some Obama loyalists who expressed concern that such a decision would lend itself to the growing appearance that the Holder Justice Department is more political than the Bush Justice Department was ever accused of being. Tracy Russo is one such blogger from the campaign of John Edwards. The unit is housed in the Office of Public Affairs. Not only is the Department of Justice Blog Squad going to reach out to nontraditional media like TPM Muckraker or the Muffled Oar, but they are also tasked with placing anonymous comments at conservative leaning blogs such as the Free Republic. I KNEW it seemed the tone of some of the postings on Free Republic had changed very recently! We need to contact the author and get more proof. If it all pans out, I smell another Obama scandal and possibly lawsuit in the works ...

They want to make it where you cannot un-elect them. Even if the GOP comes to power how would they undo it?
Anyone surprised?
In 2010 a (hopefully) veto proof congress simply defunds it. Then in 2012, when we have a new executive in charge...he simply cuts that program.
Is that the fat chick from Wilson Phillips?
After 1994 I thought we could defund Planned Parenthood and PBS too...
Should we ping the trolls?
You can bet your bottom dollar some after-birther freepers fall into this group.
If Acorn is throughly investigated and obama is shown to have broke laws along with the democrats, I know the justice dept will not do anything, but isn’t there another way to get rit of him? We know that the dems won’t vote to impeach. Do we have to wait until 2010?
ping
These are the people who are here to make us look more extreme than we are. They are also the people who run so many articles that we can't communicate with each other. Jim should seriously consider suing the Federal Government about this - this is a private site...
Not just getting rid of the dems, but putting people in there with spine, who are committed to American ideals and setting things aright.
17. Flood the Internet with agents. This is the answer to the question, What could possibly motivate a person to spend hour upon hour on Internet news groups defending the government and/or the press and harassing genuine critics? Don't the authorities have defenders enough in all the newspapers, magazines, radio, and television? One would think refusing to print critical letters and screening out serious callers or dumping them from radio talk shows would be control enough, but, obviously, it is not.
She may have been “OK” about 80-100 pounds lighter!
I can hope so. I can already see RINO’s siding with the Democrat minority though.
Ya I don’t get it. They already have an entire media that’s all tingly all the time, why would they need paid bloggers? And how the hell did they do this without anyone knowing?
Even if we get a GOP majority it doesn’t necessarily mean we get a conservative majority.
He needs to go too, on his next cycle.
BUMP. I hope Breitbart picks this up. Does he have an email?
REVERSE in 2010...REJECT in 2012!
Because control has to be TOTAL for a TOTALitarian state.
Sounds good to me. Maybe these RINO’s and the Democrats who are shocked at what their own party is doing can form a Moderate Party for us to push around?
I just sent this to Drudge!
Well, I suppose there’s nothing illegal in Obama calling on his moonbat supporters to work for him by trolling in places like FR. That’s their right, and it’s FR’s right to give them the boot when they are caught.
But it’s something else when they are hired on by the Department of Justice. The DoJ is supposed to be about justice and law. It’s not the Department of Propaganda, and they have no business paying people federal salaries and perks to spread propaganda.
Yes, when Bush was in power the RNC sometimes fought the political game—rather fecklessly—but they did it on their own dime, not the taxpayers’ dime.
This is illegal. And evil. And not a surprise, coming from the Fraudmeister in Chief.
| > You can bet your bottom dollar some after-birther freepers fall > into this group. Yeah, I was just noting yesterday how the troll activity was increased and more sophisticated than I recall in the recent past, especially on the Eligibility threads particularly about Donofrio’s case and Orly's Judge Carter case. The Justice Department is also filing responses to Orly's and other attorney's Eligibility cases. If this is true that's a conflict of interest and may have some significant ramifications if there's an organized propaganda campaign underway by the Justice Department ... |
I agree, but that doesn't matter to them...
> I just sent this to Drudge!
Thanks. I’m working on independent verification. Any others willing to lend a hand, please jump in and let’s rat these rats out!
In a report requested by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D- Mass.) and Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D- N.J.), the GAO found that the payments to syndicated columnist and TV personality Williams violated a statutory ban on covert propaganda. The senators requested the investigation after it was revealed late last year that the department hired Williams to promote Bush's "No Child Left Behind" legislation.
The 1913 law, updated in 1966, prohibits such deals. "Appropriated funds may not be used to pay a publicity expert unless specifically appropriated for that purpose," a provision in the U.S. code reads. The GAO determined that the Bush administration violated this provision. The "publicity and propaganda" law was cited in May 2004 by Anthony H. Gamboa, GAO's general counsel, when he ruled that government videos disguised as news violate two other laws.
And of course there was the "outrage" by the Dems:
Congressman Miller has joined other House Democrats to introduce legislation that would help put a stop to the use of covert propaganda by the government. The lawmakers acted after a series of revelations over the last year that the Bush Administration has used taxpayer dollars to finance covert propaganda. In two instances, the Administration hired actors to pose as journalists in videos promoting its Medicare and drug control policies. The videos aired on television stations across the country, and viewers at home were never told that what they were seeing was paid for with their own tax dollars. More recent revelations have shown that the Administration paid one prominent media commentator $241,000 to promote the No Child Left Behind Law, and had two contracts one for $20,000, the other for $20,000-plus for advice on one of the Administrations marriage initiatives at the same time that the commentator was promoting the initiative in her syndicated column. Congressman Miller and other lawmakers have asked the Bush Administration to fully disclose its use of covert propaganda. They have also requested investigations from the Government Accountability Office and the inspectors general at different federal agencies.

They issued 16 press releases on this issue, they are at the link. Wonder if the Dems will be outraged over this one? How much you want to bet we hear nothing from them but ...{crickets}. Although they may just do like they have done before..."But Bush did it!". How juvenile they are.
