Exceptional Humans Did Not Evolve from Apes Of course they didn't. There's a master race. Ordinary humans did.

I’ve never heard any evolutionist claim humans evolved from apes, so this isn’t much news.

Racing to clarify so we don’t have a thread of confusion—the idea is humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor.

Uh, except no one ever claimed humans evolved from apes. Helps to get the fact right.

The original research this is based on just says that modern apes are as much diverged from the ancient common ancestor as modern humans are.

The article clearly states that both apes AND humans evolved from a common ancestor. Science has been saying this right along and it vindicates what Darwin postulated that the human lineage has been going on independently since the times those lines split..since the time of our common ancestor. The Ardi find bears this out.

Why are you posting a pro-evolution church group?
“What matters is what we are now, not what might have been millions of years ago or how we got here. But this report concludes that our common ancestrystill undiscoveredis thrown even further backwith apparently no direct lineage of human beings arising from apes.”
To: GodGunsGuts
wow. i’ve known this for 20 years. we have a common ancestor. that’s it. what a horrible headline. and we complain about bias?

(yes, as a matter of fact, i DID only read the excerpt)
To: GodGunsGuts
Of course not. It has been known for years that chimps and humans evolved from a COMMON ANCESTOR. This verifies that and pushes the date of the common ancestor even further back to at least 4 million years ago.

Are we related to apes?
For what it's worth, science (”Darwin's Ghost” by Steve Jones, page 284) tells us that: “About a thousand genes are shared by every organism, however simple or complicated.”
