Will soldiers have enough time to vote?

FORT DRUM (AP) — Military and election officials insist that hundreds of deployed Fort Drum soldiers will have enough time to return their absentee ballots in next month’s special election in New York’s 23rd Congressional District, even though they won’t be mailed out for another two weeks.
Friday was the regular deadline for counties to mail out absentee ballots to military personnel for the Nov. 3 general election. But those ballots don’t have the names of the three candidates in the 23rd District because the special election wasn’t set by Gov. David Paterson until this past Tuesday. The election will fill the seat vacated when Republican John McHugh became secretary of the Army on Sept. 21.
A second ballot will be sent after Oct. 13 — the earliest date allowed by law — and absentee voters will have about three weeks to receive, fill out and return them, said John Conklin, a spokesman for the New York State Board of Elections.
The U.S. Election Assistance Commission has recommended mailing absentee ballots to military voters at least 45 days before they are due, while the Military Postal Service Agency has recommended at least 60 days.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Justice Department sued New York over the same issue in the March 31 special election to fill Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s former seat in the 20th Congressional District.
The federal lawsuit was settled when New York agreed to extend the deadline for receipt of the overseas ballots.

The Working Families Party and local Democratic Party Officials are at the center of a massive voter fraud scandal in Troy, NY.
According to the Times Union:
Dozens of forged and fraudulent absentee ballots from people registered to vote on the Working Families Party line were filed in the Sept. 15 primary elections in Troy.
Documents at the county Board of Elections show the fraudulent ballots were handled by or prepared on behalf of various elected officials and leaders and operatives for the Democratic and Working Families parties.
There may be as many as 50 absentee ballots that were forged, according to people close to the case. Countywide, there were 126 absentee ballots applied for on the Working Families Party line.
What isn’t mentioned is that WFP is nothing more than a front group for ACORN. Or as Roger Stone put it:
The Working Families Party is not about working people or families and it isn’t really a party. The WFP is a wholly owned subsidiary of ACORN. Bertha Lewis co-chair of the Working Families Party is the Executive Director of New York ACORN. New York ACORN leader, Steven Kest was the moving force in forming the party and WFP headquarters are located at the same address as ACORN’s national and New York office at 88 Third Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
WFP is essentially a money funnel which pays for an aggressive door to door canvas. Largely funded by unions, the WFP is ACORN’s “political arm” in New York State. Candidates supported by the Working Families Party and issues supported by ACORN are both advocated on the door steps of target voter homes as they share one major voter canvas.

Are we allowed to count Military votes? I thought the Dems were against that in the last election? /s
Leftists are always giving the military the finger. It started with the vile pig Gore - a military vet himself who tried to suppress the military vote in Florida - and continues to this day.

Hmmm....The soldiers could fill them out, hop in a Stryker, drive down I-87, across I-90 and deliver them to Albany in about two snd a half hours. Not enough time......sheesh!
Oddly enough, my absentee ballot for the 08 Presidential election never showed. I sent in a provisional ballot, but I doubt it was counted.
