Levin’s Conservative Manifesto in his “Liberty & Tyranny” is another a good reference.

I'm not going to bother about how to form a third party, as I think it would be at best a waste of time.

The OP(formerly the GOP)is a waste of time. It has moved to the socialist left to expand the voter base. Consequently merging it's ideology with the socialist RATs to form one big socialist Republicrat party. The actions of party leaders ensure they will never relent to Conservatism. Conservatives are far better off uniting under a party based on strong Conservative principles thereby restoring the two party system.

Why not be open and list your connection to Ron Paul?

John Condit Jr, prominently shown and mentioned on hte site, seems to be a big Ron Paul supporter.

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/6/members/4603934/

Why not just openly say you are Ron Paul followers and with the other Ron Paul groups, have decided to sabotage others to seize control of the party and finish it off?

The Liberatrian Party message has never fully caught on. Hanging an “R” behind it won’t change much.

Conservatives get my vote. Economic and Social conservatives.

If the GOP doesn't offer me something I like, they don't get me as a supporter. It's dead simple.

Break open the arms lockers and let’s have a mutiny. The ship can be repurposed and directed to directly engage the real enemy.

I think it would be useful to have a parallel agenda to take over the Democrat party also. With the current Democrat leadership becoming Marxist radicals and the GOP leadership becoming Democrat Lite we need to retake a lot of ideological ground. The whole stage for discussion has drifted way to the left.

For example, JFK’s pitch for a capital gains tax cut seemed more conservative than McCains middle of the road moderation.

Of course it is. The new party would be full of the same people. A new party doesn't give you a brand new set voters. You're stuck with the same voting public the two parties we have now pull from. Real change is going to have to come from a change of heart in the voting public. Nothing short of that is going to change anything.

Considering that turnout for GOP Township meetings are pathetic, conservatives, with passion, should be able to over run the local GOP organizations.

I agree, a third party is not the way to go. We need to clean out and shore up the pubbies, the party of Lincoln, the party of Life!

They (we?) CAN get it together, all a third party will give us is dem rule as far as the eye can see!

Please DO NOT misunderstand my reasons for producing these two videos. If folks want to gather together to let “them” know that “we,” like Howard Beal in “Network” are “…mad as hell and not going to take it any more…,” it’s STILL – for the time being anyway – a relatively free country so we can do that.

All I’m saying here is that, especially in tough economic times, there are more EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE ways to expend our FINITE RESOURCES.

It’s not as much fun as sweating on the Mall but there IS a better – and less costly — way to scare hell out of “them” — and you won’t even have to leave home.

We have an open system. Dozens of freshmen GOP House members will be elected in NOV ‘10 (open seats and victorious challengers). If most of them turn out to be RINO’s, it is because the RINO’s did the work of getting them elected. If they are true conservatives, it will be because conservatives became active.

Most of the people who want to “take over the party” or “start a new party” have never helped anyone get elected to anything. They are all talk & no action. All talk & no action is an ineffective political strategy.

Bottom line: there are dozens of conservative candidates out there right now who are capable of winning next fall ... and most of them will fail because of a lack of support by their “activist supporters.”
