They just locked the doors and left everything. Computers, hard drives, voter registration forms, files, call lists, etc.
That question struck me too, but think about it a moment. The leases on the buildings they used need to be terminated. Office supplies need to be surplussed (and someone has to watch and make sure that the departing personnel don't help themselves to five finger discounts on their way out). Final accounting reports need to be prepared. Tax returns probably need to be prepared. Whatever cash they have on account needs to be returned to donors. There's probably more ...

No need to yell, and you didn't offend me. You asked what operations could be left since Chicago lost the bid, and I responded. Who knew you'd have a problem with that? Peace.
