The tide is against dems this year. If McCain was president, things would be different. I get a kick out of the liberal cheer leading on MSNBC for that ‘cost saving’ public option.
King Richie II, aka Mayor Daley, would have picked the pockets of everyone in IL to cover the losses. And losses there would have been. Not so much through corruption, that'd be peanuts, but on the construction costs.
I started thinking of the overall scope, like the $1 BILLION Olympic Village. And in my professional opinion, around the clock work, double and triple time, would have been required. And THAT ain't in NO budget.
And no. There would NOT have been any Bid Rigging. Not in Chicago, not any more. A HUGH scandal in the mid 80's put that to an end. The Feds, US Attorney & FBI, now watch that like Vultures targeting a dead Deer. Public Bids in the Chi Metro Area are prolly the most honest in the USA.
