Bodies of six suspected Taliban militants have been found in Pakistan's north-western Kurram tribal region, officials say.
The bodies were found in Kurut area, on the border of Kurram and Hangu district in North West Frontier Province.
Correspondents say this is the first time that bodies of militants have been found outside of the Swat region.
Meanwhile, a senior Taliban commander has been killed in clashes with troops in the Swat valley, officials say.
The commander, Nisar, also known as Ghazi Baba, was killed in an offensive near the town of Mingora, they said.
He was a senior deputy to the Taliban chief in the region, Maulana Fazlullah, who is still being sought.
The Pakistani authorities had offered more than $100,000 for information leading to his arrest.
'Slit throats'
Officials said at least two of the bodies found in Kurram were of senior fighters from the late Baitullah Mehsud's Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
He said some of them had slit throats.

I’d favor the Republicans in such a fight! The 20 Dem’s would rue the day...assuming any survived it!

Not if the ‘Republicans’ were RINOs! In that case, we know the Repubs would at least get rolled.
If three of the six Republicans were RINOs, the three RINOs would join with the twenty d-RATs and slit the other three Republicans’ throats.

That sounds more like reality these days.
Maybe I’m a cynic, but there are few openly conservative Republicans anymore. Sarah, Santorum, Kyle, Inhof come to mind. The lamestream Republicans are to the left of those we typically brand rinos.
I vote Republican as the less of two evils The Democrats feud with Republicans has less to do with principle than the lust for power.

Taliban chief in the region, Maulana Fazlullah,......................... Yeah, but have they found his brother Pahsta Fazlullah?
I’ve heard it can be sort of violent in that part of the world. Hope it never gets as bad as Chicago, though.
