Stanford U. doesn’t want you to see this video

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 7, 2009 10:33 AM

Via Marc Morano at Climate Depot comes word that Stanford University is trying to cover for one of its leading eco-extremists:

Stanford University has banned a skeptical documentary film from airing a climate change interview with one of its prominent warming activist professors, Stephen Schneider. After legal threats from Stanford University — apparently on behalf of Prof. Schneider — the documentary filmmakers were forced to use a blank screen and an actor had to read the transcript of Schneider’s already taped but legally banned climate interview. The skeptical global warming documentary “Not Evil Just Wrong”, set for its international premier on October 18, 2009, interviewed Schneider about his flip-flop from a coming ice age proponent in the 1970s to his current advocacy of man-made global warming fears. Schneider is a professor of biological sciences at Stanford University. (email: shswebsite@lists.stanford.edu)

Irish filmmaker Phelim McAleer told Climate Depot: “Lawyers for Stanford University have tried to ban our documentary from reporting on how one of their professors previously predicted an imminent ice-age, but is now a leading global warming advocate.” (Schneider joins others like Obama Science Czar John Holdren. See: Climate Depot’s Factsheet on 1970s Coming ‘Ice Age’ Claims — ‘Fears of a coming ice age, showed up in peer-reviewed literature, at scientific conferences, by prominent scientists and throughout the media’)

The truly inconvenient truth is out there.

Doesn’t matter which it is, the solution is to give up your freedom, your decision making authority, and your consumption decisions up to a global authority made up of elitists.

That’s the only way to prevent disaster, be it frying or freezing.

It's a good thing we have a community organizer/marxist imbecile who is more than happy to give us the fascism we so desperately need.

Isn't it the truth..., their solution is always to strengthen government and relinquish liberty...ALWAYS. What's maddening is to see how many people are still accepting of it on the heels of an entire century devoted to proving what a brutal trap it can be.

Really, it has to do with the “evolutionary” mindset,
with the assumptions that we’re (or some of us, the “elites”) getting better, smarter, more moral/ethical, than anyone in the past,

and therefore have the ability, the right, and the DUTY to make decisions for others.

Again I agree, and so does Thomas Sowell in his recent "Random Thoughts..."

You keep good company!

This is too funny and pathetic. Where is the academic integrity at Stanford?

From Stanford University's web site, academics page: "...unparalleled freedom to cross departmental boundaries and discover intellectual and personal passions. Creative thinking, problem-solving and research are central to the academic programs at Stanford, and learning takes place in an environment of intimate collaboration." Really?

Wow, Sowell plagiarized my post? And he didn’t even clean up that minor gramatical error? :)

I'll have to see the vid later (I much prefer to read).

That said, the Climate Depot site looks pretty good!

Redfaced...

"What is most frightening about the political left is that they seem to have no sense of the tragedy of the human condition. All problems seem to them to be due to other people not being as wise or as noble as they are."

I prefer to read too. It would be nice if they posted the script they read from.

If you have not yet read “Conflict of Visions”, I highly recommend this work. He expounds on the theme that all ideological differences stem from this very base assumption of the nature of man.

I’m a great admirer of the man, and I did read that excellent book. My favorite of his remains his older “Vision of The Anointed.” He does make that point doesn’t he? I saw him on Glenn Beck not long ago and was saddened to see how he’s aged. His would be a hard pair of shoes to fill.
