A Nobel for Nothing
The Washington Times ^ | October 11, 2009 | Editorial

Posted on 10/09/2009 7:18:26 PM PDT by Abakumov

Certainly there have been less deserved awards of the Nobel Peace Prize, such as the 1994 award to Palestinian terrorist Yasser Arafat, or the 2007 nod to former Vice President Al Gore for his big, scary science-fiction movie. However, Mr. Obama stands out as history's only recipient who even the Nobel Committee admitted won more for what he hopes to do than anything substantive he actually has done.

The Washington Times is naive. They know full Obama is a narcissist lacking in character and deportment. He's made it because he showed up when history was kind to him.

Part of the problem here is racism ~ namely Eurotrash racism. They have an unsassailable belief that black people simply cannot aspire to the same sort of levels of performance normally expected of whites or asians.

They then act accordingly by offering up treasure (Nobel Peace Prizes, for example) without even bothering to review performance.

And why should they. They've done done this time after time and have seen that such recipients are perfectly happy to accept these meaningless awards.

Its the bigotry of soft expectations. No one in their right mind would award the Nobel to an unqualified white person. But that it can be given to a black person of Obama's undistinguished background says more about the people who did the award than it does about Obama.

Yup. No shame.

Black HS seniors here who failed were allowed to walk across the stage (with cap, gown and pictures) and receive a certificate of attendance instead of a diploma at the end of their senior year. The audience couldn't tell who graduated and who didn't...that was the intent.

The bigger shock is that he was elected _resident and to that point he had done absolutely...NOTHING!

You are exactly right...the bigotry of soft expectations.

It’s like saying “for a black guy you gave some good speeches so here is a prize”.

How embarrassing!

It wasn't for nothing, just like everything else he has achieved in life, it was given to him because he is black.

Obama was elected to the Presidency for the same reason he was awarded the Nobel Peace Price. Just words, no real substance or achievement.

However, Mr. Obama stands out as history's only recipient who even the Nobel Committee admitted won more for what he hopes to do than anything substantive he actually has done.

This is disturbing, from my own experience.

That is, when I was nominated to receive the level of "Distinguished Research Faculty Fellow" at my university I was subjected to an external review of scholars --whom I could not know personally -- that reviewed my PRIOR research.

Note: My field is Mathematical Statistics and so there is probably a difference from politics.

This must be slumming, Nobel style.

*******

Obama's 1961 Hawaii birth certificate issue: If Obama's Hawaii long form birth certificate controversy explodes in Obama's face between now and the 2012 presidential primary, the Nobel Peace Prize committee will surely end up being very embarrassed indeed.
