Democrats may lose two state governors' races

CAMDEN, New Jersey (Reuters) – Democrats running for governor in New Jersey and Virginia face possible defeat in November, despite strong showings by President Barack Obama in those states last year, in elections that could render the first judgments on the Obama presidency.

New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine, a close Obama ally, is struggling to win re-election in the face of a strong challenge by Republican Christopher Christie.

The Obama administration has turned out in support of Corzine, a wealthy former Goldman Sachs executive.

At a rally in Atlantic City this week, Vice President Joe Biden said it was "critically important" that Corzine is re-elected.

The Corzine campaign adapted the popular Obama slogan, hanging a banner next to Biden reading: "Yes we can -- again.

In Virginia, the only other U.S. state with a gubernatorial contest this year, Democrat Creigh Deeds has been losing so much ground in the polls to Republican Bob McDonnell that he has blamed the Obama administration's $787 billion economic stimulus plan for his low popularity.

A Washington Post poll published on Friday gave McDonnell a commanding lead of 53 percent to 44 percent, with less than a month to go until election day.

"Frankly, a lot of what's going on in Washington has made it very tough," Deeds told Politico newspaper. "We had a very tough August because people were just uncomfortable with the spending."

DUhhhh.

Dems are like little kids.. DaDDY DaDDy, Buy this for me,, This too..

A lot of politicos will go down becuz they just don't get it. You don't spend money you don't have, and if you do, you don't let politicians get their grubby little dirty hands on it to blow.

I guess it’s too late for the the Nobel Peace Prize committee to influence the election by giving the award to Deeds. They already shot all their fireworks in support of the Holy O.

I can see VA going Repubbie, but NJ is so corrupt with massive voter fraud and Corzine having the backing of Wall Street friends with $$$, makes it hard to defeat a DEM there. I bet ACORN registered so many duplicates and phony voters that he might be insured a win. It would take a really BIG turnout to unseat him.

PPP is run by liberal hacks. I wouldn’t believe them any more than I would beleive their dear leader, Hussein Obama.

Thanks, but I did my own research. PPP is run by liberal hacks who endorsed Hussein. That’s all I need to know.

Corzine is in big trouble.
When the lefties at Quinipac say there's trouble the real internal polls must be real bad.
Any incumbent in the low 40s this late in a race has major major problems.

I like to warn people when I see the same posters that seem to promote this phony PPP pollster group.
I suspect their motives !

It’s New Jersey though. There will be plenty of fraud to make up any deficit. Even without fraud, I doubt they could bring themselves to change. They’re just way too ‘intellectual’ there.
