Singing Heil Obama in New Jersey

Red alert to parents: If you send your children to a public school, they may be secretly indoctrinated in the cult of Obama-worship. If that's not your plan for your children, you had better act now, before it's too late.

We now know that the "I pledge" video shown in Utah in August, and only afterwards discovered by parents, was not isolated evidence of indoctrination of public schoolchildren in the new cult of Obama-worship. Second-graders in New Jersey were taught to sing songs of praise and fidelity to Barack Obama in February and again in June, and parents only found out about it this September.

Public schoolchildren are now forbidden to sing Christmas carols that mention the real meaning of Christmas (only songs like "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer" are allowed), but in New Jersey, second-graders were taught to sing the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children" in which Jesus' name was replaced with Obama's. They sang, "He said red, yellow, black, or white/All are equal in his sight/Barack Hussein Obama."

Before Obama's election, it was considered a political no-no for Republicans to use his middle name. Beginning with his inauguration in January, he and his followers use Hussein to glorify his Muslim heritage and connections.

The revised lyrics teach the kids that Obama will "make this country strong again." The lyrics promote Obama's Lilly Ledbetter law by including the line: "He said we must be fair today/Equal work means equal pay."

Proving that this rewritten Jesus-song wasn't an aberration, New Jersey second-graders were taught to sing a second Obama-personality-cult song to the tune of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Here are some of the lyrics: "Mr. President we honor you today!/For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say 'hooray.'/Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!/Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!/So continue, Mr. President, we know you'll do the trick/So here's a hearty hip hooray, Hip, hip hooray!"

These songs were not spontaneous kiddie exuberance or extracurricular playground activity. The video makes clear that the teacher was methodically instructing the children, using one talented second-grader to demonstrate exactly how to sing the songs, and coaching students who forgot the words.

The teacher also led the children in giving a sort of Heil Obama salute. On cue, they outstretched their right hands, accentuating their community of action in praising Obama.

The New Jersey songs were first taught to the children at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in February to celebrate Black History Month, and then videotaped in June as part of a Father's Day tribute to Barack Obama. Only after the video was later posted on the internet did parents learn about it.

Who's responsible for this outrage? The teacher has retired with full pension and benefits, and the principal, Dr. Denise King, defended the controversial song, making no apologies.

Parents quoted the principal as saying she would allow the performance again if she could. King touted her trip to Obama's Inauguration in the school yearbook along with Obama campaign slogans and pictures she took in Washington on January 20, and she has posted pictures of Obama in the school's hallways.

Superintendent Christopher Manno issued a written statement that the taping and its distribution were unauthorized, but failed to say whether the singing lesson was approved. State Education Commissioner Lucille Davy directed the superintendent to review this matter but declined to say what the review will cover or if any action would be taken.

Some shocked comments from parents included: "I can't believe it's our school. We don't want to praise this guy like he's a god or an idol or a king." "I felt this was reminiscent of 1930s Germany, and the indoctrination of children to worship their leader."

RNC Chair Michael Steele said: "This is the type of propaganda you would see in Stalin's Russia or Kim Jong Il's North Korea." A poster for the book "I Am Barack Obama" by activist Charisse Carney-Nunes can be seen near the chanting second-graders.

The songs' lyrics sound like a follow-up of the "I pledge" video shown in Utah in which kids were invited to pledge to support all sorts of leftwing goals such as national health care. Specific legislative pledges culminated in pledges "to be a servant to our President" and "to be of service to Barack Obama."

The New Jersey songs are further proof of Obama's plan to indoctrinate schoolchildren, which was evident in Education Secretary Arne Duncan's instructions to all school principals to use the "historic moment" of Obama's September 8 speech to all schoolchildren as a tool to "inspire" them and teach them to be cheerleaders for Obama.

I have posted my thoughts on this phenomenon several times on Free Republic and I would like to reproduce two of them here (the second posted before the election) in the hope that an open-minded independent might take a long look and consider how to cast his vote next time(Warning:"a long look" is unavoidable because I have lived up to my reputation to maintain standards of length):

John McCain demonstrated in the campaign that he got it too and like John Cornyn he elected not to confront The Obama Pathology believing that it was a battle he could not win. What is The Obama Pathology?

The Obama pathology was first laid out by Shelby Steele a black political scientist who identified the unspoken deal that Obama cut with the American people and especially with white liberals. White liberals are full of guilt for slavery and segregation. They ache to atone for America's original sin. Obama offered them a cheap penance and an easy absolution. Just vote for Obama and you are redeemed. It is not entirely coincidence that people generally thought of Obama as The Messiah. For his part, Obama merely had to be inoffensive. He had only to be a white black man. He must not be Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton because there in your face contentiousness had rubbed America's nose in its history. But so long as Barack Obama was inoffensive-Republicans said so long as he was an empty suit-the deal held and America was bound and determined to have a black president who was "clean and articulate" who, in short, acted white while he looked black.

Absolutely critical to the success of this deal was the complicity of the media which never drew back the curtains. So America went to the polls and elected the first black president without knowing or seriously considering that he was an acolyte of the Saul Alinsky School, mentored by of the communist Frank Marshall Davis, an associate of the murderous terrorists William Ayres and Bernadette Dorn, an apparatchik of the black wing of the Daley Chicago political machine, attorney for and implicated in the affairs of Acorn, a racialist or at least a man who divides the world the basis of race, and a Manchurian Marxist. Most Americans who voted for Barak Obama did not think all this was part of the package, they wept joyfully over the transcendent sublimity of pulling the lever for the First Black President.

They were duped, they were seduced, but like all submitting virgins, at core they wanted to be seduced and in fact they did not even care that they were being duped. It did no good to show them films on television of Obama's pastor "God damning America." The people simply would not see and would not hear.

When the videos of Rev. Wright and his dark racism got some traction, Obama made a speech about race which was actually quite banal but the media received it as a revelation brought down from the mountain by Martin Luther King, etched in kryptonite tablets.

In addition to its passive role in failing to part the curtain and expose the sinister aspects of Obama's biography, the media was also complicit as it affirmatively attempted to destroy anyone with the temerity to observe out loud that the Emperor, "had no clothes."

No matter how exalted in status in the liberal establishment, no one was exempt from the rules if he got on the wrong side of The Obama Pathology. Even Bill Clinton when he spoke the truth after the South Carolina primary about the effect of the black vote for Obama, was condemned for "racist" remarks. Truth was not available as a defense, when for once in his life Bill Clinton had spoken the truth but, no matter, he had crossed the line, he had gone beyond the pale of decency. And the lesson was not lost on John McCain, among others. Attack Barak Obama for any reason whatsoever, not even excluding merely mentioning his middle name, and stand in peril of being labeled a racist. One dare not commit what has become the worst trespass in modern American life.

I can recall writing post after post in the run-up to the election saying that John McCain must "morally destroy" Barak Obama or the election was lost. McCain never made the move, in fact, he excused and covered for Obama. He rebuked a faithful but expendable party loyalist for referring to Barak "Hussein" Obama. McCain explicitly put issue after issue out of bounds which might have led the public to take a realistic look at Obama. It is quite possible that McCain believed himself to be a man of honor, and the only honorable course was to refrain from criticizing a black man because he was black. But McCain's reticence went beyond that, he declined to attack Barak Obama for virtually any reason. The Republican nominee cannot have made that decision out of ignorance. He had too many advisers who were exposed to too many polls not to know that such unilateral disarmament would inevitably lead to his humiliating defeat. McCain must have made a calculation that the greater risk lay in trying to expose Obama for the radical he is because it would court a revulsion in the people for attacking a black man. I believe McCain knew that the media would do everything in its power to make that happen. McCain had taken his lesson from slick Willie's experience in South Carolina where the media did not permit Clinton to look quite so slick.

For whatever reason, part of The Obama Pathology came to mean that the candidate could not be attacked for any reason not just his race. Obama got a free ride into the oval office.

So the people put in office a Manchurian Marxist when they thought they were getting a liberal Democrat. They did not consider that there would be no restraints, no checks or balances, to any excesses he might set in train. They did not calculate that the financial crisis would create an atmosphere not known since the Great Depression which would give a Manchurian Marxist cover to dismantle the American capitalist system. They did not sense that the media would continue to abandon their traditional role of America's watchdog after the election but would continue to perpetuate The Obama Pathology.

There is more that the people did not foresee in their misty eyed paroxysm on election day. They still have not confronted a reality running parallel to Obama's dismantling of their economic system: he is systematically dismantling our constitutional democracy. In its place he is substituting cultural Marxism just as he is substituting economic Marxism for our capitalist system. He is doing this under the cover of The Obama Pathology and that is perpetuated by exploiting race in America.

This post, a vanity, attempts to define or at least describe The Obama Pathology:

THE OBAMA PATHOLOGY

The idea of the Authoritarian Personality originated in The Frankfurt School as a means of undermining the position of the father within the family circle and thereby undermine the family itself and ultimately the nation as a bulwark against communism. It was heavily larded with pseudo-Freudian analysis and was expanded to subvert all institutionalized authority. Every season we see an article, usually by some college professor with too much time in his hands or sometimes by psychiatrists acting either singly or in gaggles, opining that the current president, if he be Republican, is somehow psychologically deficient. No Republican president or Republican candidate in my lifetime has escaped this ritual psychoanalysis.

A recent excrescence of this genre is the book by Naomi Wolf in which she ludicrously argues that America, led by George Bush, is on the verge of descending into fascism. I have posted my objection to this sort of pseudoscience and I have tried to debunk this cheap propaganda so I am reluctant to engage hypocritically in the same game now. Well, I am going to do it anyway. I aim to indict about half of our whole society. The half, and likely more than half, that will vote for Barak Obama. My psychological conclusions do not pretend to the trappings of the "science" of the psyche and adorned with the word games of Freudian analysis, rather they are rooted in common sense.

The conclusion of anyone with common sense who has seen the films of innocent children singing their Obama songs or who has watched the quasi-military chanting and saluting of the Obama Youth in military garb must conclude that there is something very, very wrong with these people. I remember when I first saw the YouTube Children singing their Obama song I became conscious after a while that my mouth was gaping open, so appalled was I. My reaction to seeing the paramilitary gang marching into the karate hall was a mixture of embarrassment that these kids would make such fools of themselves and anger that adults would so brazenly manipulate children. Then I felt a creeping sense of unease that there was something potentially very sinister going on. Dear merciful God, this is Orwellian!

Beyond a very healthy repugnance to the spectacle of brainwashed children put on display, beyond the inescapable Maoist symbolism of it all, a commonsense person asks, what kind of man would permit this to go on in his name? What kind of parent would not seek to protect his child from such a man? What kind of pathology would lead parents who presumably love their children to consign those children to the demons of mind control? How could Americans fall for such a transparent cult of personality?

Unfortunately, we need not be uncertain about what kind of man would permit this grotesquerie to be advanced in his name. History provides us with plenty of examples: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Kim Jong-Il come to mind and now we add Barak Obama to the list. Why has he not spoken out and repudiated this? Would not a decent man do so if only for the children?

If Obama will not speak out now as a candidate when a little modesty, even false modesty, would advance his chances, what will he do when he gains office with no resistance anywhere on the horizon; no opposition in either the House or the Senate, no voice in traditional media to be raised against him, no institutional resistance on a national level of any kind organized to discourage him? Because he condones this obscenity one must ask, Is Obama really a narcissist as has been claimed? If so, how far will he go when he has the levers of power in his hands when there is no effective resistance to his ego?

How dangerous is Barak Obama?

Is he too dangerous to be put in a place where he could literally get us all killed? Or Is he the indispensable man in some sense? I do not think so. There is nothing in his career that suggests that he is the man for this season. In a time of war he has no military experience. In a time of looming financial disaster, he has no economic credentials. If he is potentially dangerous and if he is not indispensable, why would so many people want to put him in a position where he could do us harm, even get us all killed?

My commonsense explanation is that there must be a pathology, a mass psychosis, that brings people to the point where not only are they eager to make him the most powerful man in the world but they are invoking his name and calling upon him to be their savior. This they do rather than falling on their knees out of fear of The Real God.

This is the Obama pathology.

To a middle-class conservative who instinctively rejects conspiracy theories and normally wants to think the best of people because that's what he learned in Sunday school, this deification of an empty suit is as bewildering as it is frightening. What in the world are these people thinking? Do they not weigh the risks of consigning their fate to an unqualified man, worse, a person tainted his whole life with stunningly dangerous confederates including felons and Communists and terrorists? What is the upside? What is it about this man whose career is utterly uninterrupted by any accomplishment which would motivate these people to risk their children and my children to whatever he might do to them? How do they know? How can they be sure? Don't they have any doubts?

My problem is that I am seeking after that which I cannot find. I want to find an explanation in logic for a phenomenon of emotion. It is easy for middle-class conservatives to overlook the power of emotion even though history provides plenty of examples even within our own culture in America. Can logic explain why so many drank Jim Jonse's Kool aid? Why Charles Manson commanded such blood loyalty? How many cheered OJ Simpson's acquittal? Why did princes Diana's passing traumatize a nation? These are not questions which are answered with everyday commonsense. One almost has to go to the Bible to see the answer in Old Testament allegory which lets us know that evil is and there will always be worshipers of the golden calf.

I fear that in November we conservatives might find ourselves involuntarily embarked upon a journey that is foreign to our epistemology. We may be going into dark places and we might well be pushed into a netherworld where our common sense values are of no use because it is a place where down is up and black is white, a place where gravity does not pull but pushes, a place where we will need a pocket translator in order to converse in English with our government, our children's teachers, and our keepers even though they superficially use the same words we do. We sense we are about to be overwhelmed by forces guided by the ghost of Saul Alinsky.

I fear the downside of the Obama Pathology after his election may extend to dimensions we cannot begin to fasten to our everyday understanding or to our common sense. We have no way of knowing what will come because we don't know anything really about Barak Obama. We do not know if he is purely evil, we do not know if he is a committed communist, we do not know if he is a racist, we do not know if he wishes to see the submergence of the United States into a greater world order, we do not know if he is a megalomaniac, we do not even know, God help us, if he hates America. We do not know, in short, if we are backs - to- the- wall confronted with the Liberals' quadrennial nightmare: A real Authoritarian Personality.

We do know that Barak Obama has already encouraged a cult of personality whose implications are truly frightening and fundamentally un-American.
