Actually, the impact kinetic energy of such a weapon (essentially an artificial meteor) would be calculated as EK=mv2/2.

"No square the "V", no get "KE".

The Pentagon has acknowledged that it is speeding up plans to deploy a massive bomb capable of knocking out deeply buried enemy facilities. The giant "bunker buster" is believed to add fighting power to the U.S. arsenal against Iran's nuclear program, defense experts argue.

Obama will never use it. He will never attack Iran. He likes 3rd world tyrants.
He sees a little bit of himself in Amedinejad and Hugo Chavez
This bunker buster bomb is being displayed to make the Obama regime look more butch as 0bama's says to gays he will end "don't ask don't tell" in the US military.

So far 0bama has been enabling the Iranian nuclear program just like that bald headed stooge El Baredi at the UN

"well there goes the world as we know it"

I would agree, economically speaking, a hot war in the oil lanes of the Persian Gulf with the fanatical (Moscow-supported) Iranian dictatorship attempting to 'wipe Israel off the map' will send the energy & precious metals market into never before witnessed excessively bullish & inflationary territory, based on the fear factor of a far greater war, while international stock markets shall fall quicker than the last sub-prime-triggered sell-off. The current recession will slide toward a full scale depression, contingent on the duration of greatly inflated energy costs, naturally effecting the price of all transported consumer goods.

All of the above could be avoided, in addition to being resolved, only if there was a true united front dedicated to removing the anti-Western tyrannies in Iran & Syria, and in doing so Hamas & Hezballah terrorist entities would be minus their chief arms & monetary benefactors and much easier to defeat. Due to the Middle Eastern Obama agenda, obvious resolutions shall not be forth coming, but the reverse.

"What good is this bomb when the President doesn’t have the balls to use it?

Totally correct!

“removing the anti-western tyrannies in Iran and Syria”

imho this is job of an entirely differant order and it does appear this current admin is highly desirous of their continued presence :(

I wouldn’t count on Reza Pahlavi in exile to life a finger either-ever read any of his speeches ? worse than the bamsters’ and I usually nod out within 1 & 1/2 mins into them.

Syria? I don’t know who is talking to them and if someone is talking it’s an extremely low profile. be

The woman that married the hillbilly from Arkansas has been overseas trying to get the Turks and the Armenians to make up and play nice. She’s gotta’ be kidding herself unless her Lord and Master Bambilini stated to her “get thee to Turkey” which is obviously a order one cannot refuse.

Turkey & Armenia a non-publicized agreement so what’s the dealio?

"Quick, someone tell John Kerry."

Don't forget the "metro-male", RINO Lindsey Graham, our new and bestest friend of the socialists. These Republi-pr**ks just don't seem to get it. I was once a supporter of that turncoat.

Sh-h-h-h-h, don’t tell Obambi. His good buddies Hugo and I’m-a-dumb-diner-jacket won’t be happy about this. Besides, it’s so, so, so unfair of us because we’re the great, big, bad, meany, immoral Amerika!

The use of these bunker buster bombs would require massive air superiority. How many B-2 bombers might be lost to deliver just one such weapon? I would think that a kinetic energy weapon loaded on SLBMs would be a far more credible option.

"I’m reminded just a bit of the development of the GBU-28 for the First Gulf War. It took all of about six weeks to build a bomb that could penetrate the hardened Iraqi command bunkers. IIRC, they use the barrels from old 8-inch SP howitzers for the bomb casing."

We accomplished that in 13 days, not six weeks.

It didn't, but Turkey did prohibit a scheduled, joint U.S./Israel military exercise that would have included Turkish airspace.

Here's an Al Jazeera link; Israel: Turkey cancels air drill

I'm stunned that the muzzie commissar in the White House would allow this. Hey, he can just send a platoon of those new gay soldiers in their pink camo uniforms over there to solve the problem.

Israel certainly does have ICBMs. The Jericho III is an ICBM. The earlier Jericho 1 and 2 are respecively SRBM (Short range) and MRBM (Medium Range).
All of Israel's Jericho II and IIIs can hit Iran.

A 1000kg solid warhead, even concrete encapsulated in depleted uranium, could cause considerable damage.

Awacs hit an escort jet during a parade and crashed into Khomini’s Tomb a couple of weeks ago, the Turk deal was a day ago, and so was the Saudia missile deal. All real recent.

Syria’s Cold-War era Soviet-supplied air defense net comprised SA-2, SA-3, SA-5, SA-6 and SA-10 missile batteries, SA-7 MANPADS and AAA of various calibers.

The Syrian nuclear reactor was of North Korean design, built with the assistance of North Korean engineers and the crew were trained by North Korean advisors.
