Limbaugh fires back at 'fool' Jackson Lee for NFL floor speech By Bob Cusack - 10/14/09 01:57 PM ET

Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday fired back at a House Democrat who has called on the National Football League (NFL) not to let him buy the St. Louis Rams.

On his radio show, Limbaugh said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) was "spreading lies" when she delivered a speech on the House floor on Tuesday.

Jackson Lee said Limbaugh is "divisive" and should not be allowed to impugn the integrity of the NFL. She also highlighted Limbaugh's controversial comments about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb in 2003.

Limbaugh, who has expressed interest in buying the Rams, said, "I wonder if Ms. Jackson Lee to have any regard for the truth. Does she have any regard for hoping, desiring to sound intelligent and knowledgeable, or is she content to be happy and proud to go the floor of the House of Representatives and make a fool of herself?

"What makes [Jackson Lee] a sports expert?" Limbaugh asked.

Limbaugh asserted that the media and Democrats are spreading "lies and fabrications and misstatements" about him, suggesting that his comments on McNabb have been distorted.

He added, "She can say what she wants. These are the people who have power over us ... I don't have any power over Sheila Jackson Lee and I don't seek any power over Sheila Jackson Lee. She, on the other hand, is the opposite. She wants power over not just me, but of as many people she can get."

The Missouri native said Democrats are going after him: "The United States government has people who are now totally comfortable in targeting an individual," he said, citing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and now Jackson Lee.

I’m sure he and TGO have been in touch. They seem to be pretty good friends.

The liberal-left and Democrats all, can't win the debate with Rush in the political arena of ideas.

Instead, they go after Rush by fabricating stories about his being insensitive and divisive. Along with pinning on Rush the “racist” mantra. The question is, with the hate for Rush rising, will this tactic work?

Maybe that’s his plan, but some how, I doubt it. I think sports teams in general right now, are not that good of an investment with the impending dollar implosion when no one will be able to afford to go to games.

Just as a test one day,
I quizzed my benchmark lib-in-law
on some of the more outrageous characters,
some of the more egregious ethics violations (Rangel),
and some of the fascist policies of this admin.

Didn’t have a clue.

I’ve come to conclude that leftists simply have FAITH
in elected people and government when leftists are in power.

They DON’T CARE how demonstrably stupid and totalitarian they are.

Rush knows he is controversial. It goes with the territory. I would guess he enjoys it and it helps his ratings,

Here’s the funny thing.

She’s the “BEST AND BRIGHTEST” of her district.
That’s why she’s their REPRESENTATIVE.

IN many cases Savage was right on the mark....it sounded a little whinny when he first complained baout Limbaugh and Beck not supporting him with the UK persona non grata business. But looks like he was right when he said they would go after Beck and Rush next.

I see a slightly diferent goal, perhaps leading to the same result, but the goal I see is:

-Rush is a conservative

-Rush is a racist

Therefore, conservatives are racists

To the media friendly Left, and the Left friendly media, and with a black Leftist President, they see that as game, set, and match.

You an I may have married into the same family. When run by Democrats, the government knows best. By faith, they *know* the government runs schools are the best place for children to be educated. By faith, they *know* Fox News spreads lies. By faith, they *know* Rush Limbaugh is a racist. The state is their religion.

I find it amazing that we have Politicians that would focus on stopping Rush Limbaugh from purchasing an NFL team while unemployment is on its way to 10% and we have an economy on the brink of collapse. Where the hell is the media on this? If the Republicans were targeting a rich liberal from buying an NFL team in this uncertain time we live in the media would absolutely be crucifying them. Why can't the politicians get to work solving our countries problems and let the NFL deal with Rush!

The more that was revealed about Clinton, the higher went his poll numbers. They admired his ability to lie - even considered it humorous.

Obama isn’t as “slick” (as indicated by poll numbers), but they’ve been brainwashed to hate the Right more than they dislike what the Left is doing.

However, eyes are being opened and hearts changed. That’s why leftists are becoming more desperate and rabid in their attempts to silence and/or destroy any source of criticism.
They know what the truth will do to the fabric of lies they’ve woven and pulled over the eyes of their voters.

Every time Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee opens her mouth it reminds me that she readily falls into the category of “people who annoy you”.

I like Rush and I think Sheila Jackson Lee is an idiot, but Rush is on questionable grounds constitutionally speaking.

Art. I, Sec. 6 (of Senators and Representatives) "...for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place."

It looks like Rush is required to go the floor of Congress to question anything Jackson Lee has said...

Rush needs to go NUCLEAR in responding to this. He has the money. Bloody as many noses as he can.

In any case, everytime a playa in the NFL breaks a law Rush should highlight it and use it to beat the NFL over the head.

Art. I, Sec. 6 (of Senators and Representatives) "...for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place."

It sounds like Congressmen and Senators will make poor guests on TV and radio, since they cannot be "questioned" on the legislation they're considering. If that is what this means...

It looks like the context of Article I, Section 6, is affording congressmen and senators immunity from arrest for anything they do or say while in session. We are free to criticize anything our elected representatives say or do in a free debate.
