Really! I was unaware of that story. Thank you for mentioning it. I'm glad to hear it's widely available so I don't have to trust my ability to stumble over it in the list of other stories. My thanks to whoever is keeping it visible!
YMMV.
Maybe you should try reading FR before posting on it.
You might learn something.
There likely was no one offended by the flag, except those who wanted to exercise authority over their neighbors from their vaunted position as keepers of the park’s dignity. They picked the wrong item for their perverse decency.
And since you like to post without checking the forum you might want to start a thread about this story.

“U.S. Troop Funds Diverted to Pet Projects”
“....Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.....”
This story seems to have been sliding along below the RADAR for a while.
Please post a link to where I did that.

Your post #21.
I sincerely ask your pardon. I thought you meant “post [an article] without reading”, not “post [a comment] without reading.” I reacted as I did because I have not posted an article in a long time, and when I do, I search for similar articles first. While I really do appreciate repeat postings of articles (I usually don’t have the time to read the whole page), I don’t want to cause them.
I am like you and start very, very few threads. Why? Because 99.9% of the time somebody else has posted it.
When I log into FR I click on News / Activism and pull down scanning the front page (around 50 threads/stories).
It takes about 2 hours to cycle a story off the front page - less if a lot is going on.
People on FR are pretty sharp and not much slips by them. But what is News? That story I linked to you above is not “News” yet but you would think a story about taking money from Operations & Maintenence and using it for Pork would have twitched a few more whiskers of the FR Cats.
So far I could only find where it was posted once with limited views. Oh, well.
Anyway, starting a thread on a day old story that had been resolved by the time you post it is not news - unless you also post that it has been resolved
and
I just wish more people would pull through the front page before starting a thread. It looks a little funny when there is 5 threads on the same story posted about 5 minutes apart.
OK, I’m just venting a bit today.
First of all...I want to say this is NOT a free speech issue. The 1st Amendment protects us from CONGRESS making laws that infring on our freedoms of speech and religion. The Supreme Court has since stated that the 1st Amendment also applies to the States and local governments.
So...neither the Federal, State or Local government can make any infringment upon your right to exercise your freedoms of religion or speech.
An apartment complex is not the government. They have every right to be idiots...and be wrong. They have every right to suffer all the consequences of boycots...getting sued if they evict you or sueing them for any other reason you can think of (civil suit)...etc for making such an un-patriotic policy. They have every right to become the object of scorn and ridicule...
BUT the 1st Amendment GUARANTEES their right to do this...and the 1st does not prohibit them (a private business) from taking this action...and it is NOT a violation of ANYONE'S 1st Amendment right to free speech.
Its just slimey...and stupid.
Some corporate mouth piece needs some street justice to find out why it is ass.... don’t abuse their power like this in the US. Because they do not face street justice, fascism in on the move.
