Please, don’t thank me for something I loved to do. Your son will be serving more than those weasels in DC- he’ll be defending the Constitution and that is more than those people. I joined when President Reagan was Commander in Chief and survived through the Clinton years and he was kind enough to send me to the Balkans. But, I truly enjoyed serving under President Bush. I’ll say a prayer for your son that all will go well for him on his journey.

It’s just further proof that rats hate the troops, they don’t support them and never will. In this instance, the rats are using our military to feather their own nests - bring home the bacon to buy votes, by screwing the military. They get to kill two birds with one stone - buy votes and smite the military.

Study finds $2.6 billion taken from guns and ammunition

Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.
Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.

I hear your frustration and rage,believe me...and it just may come to that. And you’re right-our complacency let it happen. A few AM radio stations are not going to do the job of getting the word out to people,and get people to think,and react.God bless Rush,Glenn and TGO-but try as they might-and they are really pouring it on,trying to educate and warn everyone-they’re up against newspapers,mainstream media,academia,well-funded organizations and the like.WE need to try and cut through all of that-if it means passing out newspapers at traffic intersections or in parking lots,pooling money together for commercials on TV,in magazines and newspapers,(you know,some real community organization!!) and one of the most important things we can do is really,REALLY keep track of what our kids are being subjected to in the way of propaganda.Take them to museums,cemeteries,etc. Keep the real America alive for them.Homeschool when and if possible.
I hear your pain. Over 150 of our best and bravest have died since July. My son and yours could be on the front lines any time now and the questions I’m asking, he’s asking, we’re all asking, is why? When the congress takes away funding for basic training and needs? When they change the rules of engagement to favor the enemy? When Iran’s march to nukes is unchallenged in any way shape or form? When training camps exist in Pakistan, all over, even here in the states? How can I support this war?
I’m writing and calling these Congressmen regularly—more than I have in my entire life! Their assistants listen, say they’ll pass my message along and that’s that. All the calls, the protests at Town Halls on marches on D.C., are they doing any good.
