Please, don’t thank me for something I loved to do. Your son will be serving more than those weasels in DC- he’ll be defending the Constitution and that is more than those people. I joined when President Reagan was Commander in Chief and survived through the Clinton years and he was kind enough to send me to the Balkans. But, I truly enjoyed serving under President Bush. I’ll say a prayer for your son that all will go well for him on his journey.
ALL of Capitol Hill should be captured by the US military, who are under oath to protect and defend the US constitution, and put in Prison
I surprised the amount is that low.
It’s just further proof that rats hate the troops, they don’t support them and never will. In this instance, the rats are using our military to feather their own nests - bring home the bacon to buy votes, by screwing the military. They get to kill two birds with one stone - buy votes and smite the military.
We have just got to DO something about these people. How do we start? Where do we start? Who is going to lead this country out of the wilderness we’ve become lost in?
Study finds $2.6 billion taken from guns and ammunition
By Shaun Waterman THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.
Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.
One of those picture I have never seen before. The picture of the bloody ground. Now MY blood is boiling all over again!
Nothing is beneath these people. Not a thing.
God bless you.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH someone please stop 0bama before it is too late!
Someone tell drudge enough with the balloon boy it is done.Headline 0bama’s atrocities.HEADLINE THIS STORY.
His drill sargeant told him to ignore DEFEND HIS LIFE.I was so relieved to hear this until I read this article.0BAMA NEEDS IMPEACHED AND REMOVED and sent to Chicago where he belongs IMMEDIATELY!!!
It makes me sick to my stomache!
Great. So what are they going to use??? I guess they can still club them to death with the butt of the rifle — note to son: brush up on marshal arts — obviously, you won’t have bullets.
The military family as a whole are so ticked off at this sonofabitch already. He is releasing terrorists that blew a hole in a Naval ship and blew up buildings. The evil rats voted yesterday to release all of the gitmo terrorists to the U.S. so they have RIGHTS like Americans now.
How in God’s green earth is NO ONE calling for his removal from office?
12 years is a way better start than 20+ years ...
I hear your frustration and rage, believe me...and it just may come to that. And you’re right-our complacency let it happen. A few AM radio stations are not going to do the job of getting the word out to people, and get people to think, and react.God bless Rush,Glenn and TGO-but try as they might-and they are really pouring it on,trying to educate and warn everyone-they’re up against newspapers, mainstream media,academia,well-funded organizations and the like.WE need to try and cut through all of that-if it means passing out newspapers at traffic intersections or in parking lots, pooling money together for commercials on TV,in magazines and newspapers,(you know, some real community organization!!) and one of the most important things we can do is really,REALLY keep track of what our kids are being subjected to in the way of propaganda.Take them to museums, cemeteries, etc. Keep the real America alive for them.Homeschool when and if possible.
I hear your pain. Over 150 of our best and bravest have died since July. My son and yours could be on the front lines any time now and the questions I’m asking, he’s asking, we’re all asking, is why? When the congress takes away funding for basic training and needs? When they change the rules of engagement to favor the enemy? When Iran’s march to nukes is unchallenged in any way shape or form? When training camps exist in Pakistan, all over, even here in the states? How can I support this war?
I’m writing and calling these Congressmen regularly—more than I have in my entire life! Their assistants listen, say they’ll pass my message along and that’s that. All the calls, the protests at Town Halls on marches on D.C., are they doing any good.
“...His drill sargeant told him to ignore DEFEND HIS LIFE.I was so relieved to hear this until I read this article.”
This saying comes to mind: "Better to be judged by 12, then to be carried by 6."
Let me know what I can do to help. My son told me that a unit is scheduled to leave for Afghanistan in two weeks. He talked to one of the guys and asked when’s the last time he fired a rifle. The answer was “two or three months ago” and only one turn on the range. He termed it “a joke.”
This is our force in readiness. People, if you aren’t angry enough to go and get in the face of your representatives, I don’t know what will do it. I have a mind to march on Camp LeJeune and demand they return my son!
Mean while burn the phones to your senators to stop this bill in its tracks if possible. Obama will be more of a disgrace if he signs this, as if he cares..........
One thing I made quite clear is that Obama should be impeached - overthrowing one's country is treason. Please phone or fax your senators regardless of their party....they need to know their reelection is on the line for this and their President is in clear violation of the United States Constitution and should be impeached.
You can check your senator here.
Bless you and your group. Most of all, bless our troops.
I’m so angry about this I don’t which I feel more like doing: cry or scream.
We have much in common, samsmom. His dad and I strongly encouraged our son to wait until after the election to accept his admission to OCS. Fortunately, we had enough clout to make that stick (trust me, we had our fingers crossed hed listen). We insisted that he finish his education before making that decision. He graduated from college in May and two weeks later went to OCS. We attended his graduation in August.
What we have learned is that Marines do not swear allegiance to the President. They swear to protect and defend the Constitution and serve at the pleasure of the President. Officers have the right to refuse any order they deem unconstitutional or in violation of their conscience with an immediate resignation tendered if they cannot follow a direct order that violates either of those two criteria. That is why we told our son he must enter as an officer or we would have no son. Once again, we had our fingers crossed we had enough clout to influence his decision whether to enlist or seek a commission.
Between now and the end of January (when he accepts his commission), we are monitoring the situation in Washington and our sons intellectual and character development to ensure he is fully aware of the responsibility he is taking on. Once his commission is accepted, he will have the responsibility of laying down his life to protect the enlisteds under his command. He will still have at least a year to develop that leadership skill at Quantico and his MOS at Pendleton (or wherever that MOS is taught). Our prayer, as his parents, is that he will become as compasionate as he is wise, and we have placed the ultimate outcome in Gods hands.
In the meantime, you and I and other parents can do our best to fight the battle here at home to ensure our sons and daughters and all who serve have our full support. That is my goal, that is my mission that is my purpose in posting here. I hope I can find the words, the wisdom and the means of shaping the course our nation adopts, and it will be passed along to others who will rise up and help carry the load. That is why I will continue to attend the parent’s meetings which is mostly made up of enlisteds parents. I need to find out what their Marines are experiencing. I can’t fight without facts, and God knows we aren’t getting much out of Washington and those in command of our Marines who are too constricted by “rules of engagement” with the politicians to enlist our help.
I cant physically take up the fight, but as long as I have two brain cells firing Ill continue to write because I do believe the pen is mightier than the sword.
Semper Fi, Marine you are as much one as Sam is.
With all my love,
Pats Mom (Kathy) ;-)
