They can’t cross-examine the kid and can’t prove anything, so they should just leave it alone.

I was amazed at the speed the ballon was flying.
Much faster than the 25 mph average estimated on TV.
It wasn’t! The video footage was from a helicopter following it making it seem as though it was moving quickly.
Let it go? I think criminals should pay for their actions - if this was a hoax, they lied to police and tied up countless law enforcement personnel for hours.
I would say that 25 mph for two hours would take it pretty close to 50 miles. LOL
