...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
ANOTHER AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE NORTH ALONG THE MID ATLANTIC COAST SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS SYSTEM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ACROSS THE WATCH AREA...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND EAST OF THE I-81 CORRIDOR. THE HIGHEST POTENTIAL FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL BE FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. WITH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 30S DURING THE DAY AND NEAR FREEZING AT NIGHT...A HEAVY AND WET SNOW IS EXPECTED. THIS TYPE OF SNOW WOULD STICK TO TREES...ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT STILL HAVE THEIR LEAVES...AND POWER LINES. BECAUSE OF THIS...POWER OUTAGES AND DAMAGE TO TREES ARE POSSIBLE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT BECAUSE HEAVY SNOW IS A POSSIBILITY...BUT NOT A CERTAINTY. AT THIS TIME...THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING SNOW ACCUMULATIONS. TRAVEL CONDITIONS COULD BECOME HAZARDOUS...SO IT IS IMPORTANT TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL IN THE WATCH AREA.

GW PING!!!
Global warming is a bitch.
I say that while living in Florida, currently 76F.
eeeck.... way too early
Where’s Al Gore?
Roger that.
11 AM yesterday State College PA set the record for earliest measurable snow. PSU is to have its homecoming tomorrow; all the grass parking lots are under 6 inches of snow with at least another 6 expected before game time.
Accuweather.com is forecasting over 12” total accumulation in some higher elevations through tomorrow evening.
Ooops! If forgot to mention that I am going out by the pool to enjoy an after dinner cigar.
Later Taters!
Climate change sucks. We really need to get rid of it.
It isn’t just you guys up north. It’s not even supposed to break 60 in middle Georgia tomorrow...we’ve done this same craft show south of Macon on the same weekend for thirteen years now, and it’s never been this cold!

Awwwww, sheesh.... we just finally finished splitting and stacking the wood from all the trees that came down in our yard October 2008. And now we’re smack dab in the path of an even worse October storm.
Good luck all...
No biggie, in 87’ we were hit with a snow storm on Oct 5th, in the mid 70’s we had snow in Watertown NY in mid May. Lake Placid area sees snow in August on the peaks. I don’t miss it, but I do miss the fresh apples.
Mom in Boston has been complaining of the cold for weeks now.
And today it SNOWED!
Oh, but don’tcha know - global COOLING is caused by global WARMING!
No, this is evidence of “climate change” they’ll say.
I live in Rome, NY and we usually get snow in October.
Did the Polar Bears get the word on this?
I live in western N.J. and my woodstove has been burning for 2 days now, earliest I can remember before Halloween.
At this rate, a cord of firewood will hit $250 - $300 a by January.
Good news if you’re selling firewood.
