political courage to maintain the forward-looking policies of the past while addressing the looming challenge of fixing the state's dangerously inadequate roads

So, our roads are hopelessly lost and need billions of dollars, but Deeds gets credit for "maintaining the forward-looking policies of the past" which lead to our hopeless roads that need billions of dollars.

The Post can't even make a logical argument for Deeds.

But they can contradict themselves. 3 months ago they called McDonnell a moderate who was in no way part of the radical right. Now he's a far-right wingnut. the WP was obviously wrong at some point.

WP: Taxes are good. Deeds will raise taxes. McDonnell opposed the unnecessary tax increases of the past. Vote for Increased Taxes. Vote for Deeds.

This is endorsement should come wrapped in a stinking dead fish.

C’mon, now. If the compost endorsed McDonnell, THAT would give me pause and worry to think he was really a closeted liberal.

... coupled with the proximity of the federal government, has partially protected Virginia from the harsh retrenchments that the recession has forced on many states.

WOW! Just being physically close to Father Federal Government protects us! Is this what the blame for California's woes? It's too far from DC?

And, people really care for their opinion?

The WP probably had a lot of influence among democrat voters in their primary last spring but very few others here in the general election. Its endorsement will be met with yawns by voters. I do think endorsements by pro-business groups have some influence over swing voters like the office park dads we occasionally hear about. Those have gone to McDonnell this time.

If I recall correctly, the WP also endorsed Pol Pot. How did that turn out?

The ComPost is a POS. They literally are an arm of the Virginia Democrat Party.
