I think there was a time when Chris Matthews wasn't stark, raving mad, but it's hard to remember for sure. Here, he invites the head of the Texas Tea Parties on to his show, and then attacks him with a series of bizarre questions involving birtherism, etc. It turns out that what Matthews really wants to do is argue about New Deal history, of which he is evidently ignorant (he doesn't seem to understand that Hoover raised taxes). The Tea Party guy, Phllip Dennis, does an admirable job of not only maintaining his dignity but talking sense to craziness:

RE: Dede Myers
Are you intentionally mis-spelling her name ? :)
Well I suppose it could be either SOROS or Whoopi Goldberg.
Phil is a fabulous guy! I have the pleasure of knowing him personally, and he is an all around good guy. Smart, witty, dedicated, and focused, with a stunningly beautiful, extremely gracious wife. God bless him for what he’s doing.
The Austrians disagree with you ... I think they are saying that Hoover's big mistake was trying to jawbone unemployment and business closures and relieve various effects, which aggravated the cash crunch and turned a bad recession or mild depression into the Great Depression. Other people blame FDR more, but the point is the same: government activism aggravated the depression.
Not hard to understand -- they were both staffers to career Dem politicians. DeeDee was press secretary for the Klintonx, and Prissy Chrissy was senior staff for House Speaker Tip O'Neill.
Good Job!

Makes you want to punch Chris Matthews in the mouth, doesn't it? I like what Perry had to say, of course he is campaigning now so he's watching the lay of the land!
Rick Perry: Texas in a unique place. When we came in the union in 1845, one of the ahh.. issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that (obvious editing splice here)
Rick Perry: My hope is that America and Washington in particular pays attention. Weve got a great union. Ah
theres absolutely no reason to dissolve it, but if Washington continues to thumb their nose at
at the American people, who knows what may come out of that?
.
Chris Matthews was born with a CO2 pistol in his mouth and a hunger for radical leftist men in high office

I forgot the /folder/filename too!
Hey, thanks FRiend!
Candor, we’ll do our part to not let them prevail. There comes a time when all talking is over, nothing more to be gained, which seems to be fast approaching, then comes a time of action. This great divide cannot, at this time, be spanned.
And where is that Civilian Security Force? Those plans and ideas just don’t go away and they didn’t rise out of a vacuum either.
Bump for later reading ....
