NY-23 candidate Doug Hoffman, 'I'm the only conservative in a race against two liberals'
Freedom Radio ^ | October 19, 2009 | Tim Sumner

Posted on 10/19/2009 8:27:24 AM PDT by Sergeant Tim

Conservative candidate for U.S. Congress Doug Hoffman (NY-23), in the November 3 special election, points out that Republican Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava was on "Working Families Party" during "two of the last elections, the ticket supported by ACORN." Mr. Hoffman asks, "How can you be a Republican and be on that party line with Barack Obama?" He adds, "Her biggest supporter online is Kos."

'Kos' being Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas. On October 1, 2009, Kos wrote:

"So who to root for? A Blue Dog who would strengthen the Democrats' corporatist faction, or a Republican version of a Lieberdem, who will probably be muzzled, but could -- if she remained true to her record in Albany -- be more of a Susan Collins-type Republican, a moderate in an ideologically rigid party willing to give the Dems fake "bipartisan" cover with crossover votes every once in a while. If Republicans lose the seat, it'll dent that sense of momentum they believe is headed their way. If they win the seat, it will have been with a liberal Republican, suggesting that their path to electoral relevance in the northeast is to ditch the Southern-fueled ultra conservatism. Both are good for us."

Mr. Hoffman went on to say Ms. Scozzafava, "Is for card check. ... She knew she was running for Congress this year when the [New York] state budget came up. This was the first budget in eleven years she voted down. ... What she does not tell the people is she voted for tens year in a row for higher spending, higher taxes, for higher fees and penalties."

There is more. Here is the Windows Media Audio of Doug Hoffman's interview last night on with Freedom Radio:

Hey, we asked folks to step up, Doug Hoffman did, and we have an opportunity right now to send a message and a messenger to Washington.

Note: Here is an mp3 download of the interview.

Some great perspective and commentary on the ineptitude of the RCCC in this race on this thread.

IMO, any Republican that doesn’t want to get flushed, better start speaking up, loud and clear, now, or they’re TOAST. We The People are tired of spineless, gutless, gonad-less Republicans.

This race is a good example of why I advise conservatives to NOT give to the RNC, RCCC, RSCC, etc. Give to the candidate or to explicitly conservative PACs instead.

The RNC, Newt and the Beltway Republicans support the John MeCain, Lyndsey Graham Liberal Republican over the more popular Conservative Republican.

What is it with these morons, didn't they see with their own eyes what support a Conservative, like Sarah Palin, brings to the Republican Party?

Did they not witness the outrage of the Conservative Base at all the TEA Party protest, but locally and nationally.

He closed from 28 points down to within 6 in just two week. What we have "no chance" is either of the libs in the race of turning into a conservative. The time is now; lean into it!

Is this an open vote with a runoff? Best % wins outright?

This race is the perfect example of the hammer that conservatives have had available to them right along, but have lacked the leadership to use.

Please, send Hoffman a donation. I wish we would get behind him as strongly as we got behind Joe Wilson last month.

Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.

Scozzafava also holds these positions:

Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.

This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” democRat.

There are also 17 RINOs in the house who have donated funds to this Liberal democRat's campaign. They include Boehner and Cantor. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These RINOs should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year.
