Another attempt to disarm law abiding citizens.
I’ve always looked at the Second Amendment from a firearm angle. I think it would cover knives and swords as well. Am I wrong?

You’re not wrong. Your Second Amendment covers “Arms”. That includes firearms, certainly. It also includes swords, knives, blunt objects, cannon, catapult, explosives, pointy sticks, nunchuks — any offensive tool that can be used against an opponent.
I see no reason to read the US Constitution or US Law any differently.

Wow! People really need to stay on top of these scumbags. I didn’t know anything about this, not that I would give up any of my knives to these commies.

I didn’t know about this either. I never leave home without my CRKT Carson design folding knife.

Your concealed carry permit may or may not restrict you to firearms. You would need to check with your state.

Sadly, no. Gun ownership — tho’ extremely common and widespread — is a privilege, not a right in New Zealand.
That said, we have one of the highest per-capita gun ownership rates in the free world. I believe it is right up there near the USA’s rate. Truth is, the authorities have no idea how many guns are in circulation here: they tried registering them but that has proven highly problematic.

When preparing to "fight in the shade" it is advisable to have, if at all possible, a crew-served weapon.
