Of course I understand what they are trying to do, but if conservatives shrink from communicating with people at every turn how are hearts and minds going to be changed? answer: they won’t. She is doing the correct thing.
My issue is oprah herself. She is on a short list of power players that are willingly trying to destroy the great traditions of this country, and destroy you along with it. There should be no consorting with her as there shouldn't be with olbermann, matthews, maddow, etc. I dont care what the size of her audience is. oprah needs to be fully discredited, and politically defeated...not just by scoring a few gotchas, but ruined for good.
There are too many people here who cannot let go of the joyful temptations that hollywood, msm, etc offer as bait. They are taking your money and using it in powerful ways against you and more importantly against this nation.
There are plenty of MSM news shows that Sarah will have an oppty to present her case to and she should do that. But by continuing to lend legitimacy to "fluff" like oprah as a benchmark to determine who should be CiC of the free world has got to end!
ps, if you 'fact check' here on FR, you will see that NewLand was one of the very first to suggest her for future POTUS and then VP before McCain chose her. I'm a supporter, well before most of you jumped on the band wagon.
I think the problem with the Couric as well as the Gibson interviews is they were taped and we know, from the transcript of the Gibson interview, cut to make her look like a ditz. This is a live show, she is also not hamstrung by the campaign telling her what to say or think... and BTW she was correct in her reply to Gibson — the reply that people used to tar her as dumb and unprepared.
I am, I do, I agree. But that's a different discussion.
We need leadership that will turn all the liberal "premises" upside down and destroy them. No time or luxury left to "get along".

Someone I knew was at the show, and the producers picked out the best looking woman from each group, separated them from their friends and sat them in the front. The show is very controlled....I don’t see anything being “sprung” on Sarah Palin. We will be watching the live broadcast in Chicago to compare with the tape delayed version shown later around the country.
My comment on the Couric interview doesn’t address the manipulation of the interview or her response. I simply mean the headache that resulted from that and damage to her image wasn’t worth it in the end. No it wasn’t fair, but life isn’t fair. Politics certainly isnt fair. All things considered it might have been best that interview not have happened in hindsight.
Unless it can be shown that experience prepared her in some way for a greater obstacle down the road she’ll survive because of what she learned from this. Then, then I’d say it was worth it after all.

Yes she can, and should. You don't quite get the level of deceipt behind people like oprah, obama, soros, etc. Hitler et al were defeated on the battlefield, not over coffee. Not quite the same but principles are. These people must be destroyed politically, not legitimized any more.
But she can't do that by staying away. You said it yourself "Hitler et al were defeated on the battlefield, not over coffee." The Allies defeated him, because they engaged him. Same with Sarah Palin. She has to engage her enemies on the battlefield, even if it is their battlefield, and that cannot happen if she remains only in more friendly environments over coffee.

Oprah relaizes she lost 1/2 of her audience during Obama’s campaign now her ratins are suffering so she decides maybe to go back to the center, Now her empty headed fool fan’s demand she fails. I wasn’t gong to watch but you know if she scores the highest ratings of the seaon with Sarah on perhaps they would get the message?

In the face of all the attacks against Sarah Palin the last year, she's shown me a real inner strength not only to be able to withstand it all, but also to be able to fight back.
I don't think she'll rude on Oprah's show, but I also don't think she'll have any problems standing up for herself.
If Sarah has to appease too many skunks on the way to the WH, she will smell too much like a skunk when she gets there. Haven't we learned that lesson already?

Engaging your enemies on the battlefield is not appeasement. Surrendering your values and adopting theirs is. And the history of Sarah is not one of surrendering her values to anyone, but standing up to them. She won't surrender to Oprah either.
Pity.
