I remember when the Repubs gained power in the 90’s, they fell for the dems’ whining about “sharing power” giving them near equal representation on committees, disregarding the shoddy treatment they had received for 50 years. Did they really think the evil dems would treat them nice when they regained power? Newt and the boys proved themselves to be naive and stupid. And he’s still proving it.

I think he will only get there if liberals vote for him like they did McCain.

Newt blew it when he did that Public TV telethon soon after becoming Speaker! I remember the confusion! Now I know much better - he was so impacted by the MSM against his JUST AND RIGHT comments about public television, he surrendered his conservative moorings to do that stupid telethon!
Gingrich was compromised. He’s not got the freedom any more that he used to have. The gamble is too great.
I’ve heard tell Newt’s management stills are atrocious, that he belongs nowhere near the executive. Does anyone know of a source for that?

I couldn't agree more. I voted for my last RINO when I voted for McCain. I will vote for third party conservatives, and if the socialists win, then let them be socialists with a D after their names, not an R. And maybe maybe the Republican leadership will wise up. But I doubt it.
I wouldn’t vote for him even if he was the only one on the ballot.
Maybe we need to help the bad ones not get re-elected every time by tattling on them better.

Gingrich failed in the “Contract with America,” getting involved in an extramarital affair, like Clinton and those he was supposed to be opposing. He compromised himself, from what I can tell, forgiven I’m sure, but not trustworthy. Where are the true conservative leaders of our country?
