Newt on Greta talking about Scozzafava
Fox News | 10/26/2009 | Self

Posted on 10/26/2009 7:18:44 PM PDT by RushingWater

Newt answering questions about NY23. Defending the Scozzafava. Says that Hoffman is outside the district. Claims that Scozzafava is a solid fiscal conservative but social liberal. Claims all of Hoffman's money is coming outside the district. Make a point that it was the local GOP that nominated Scozzafava and that they know more than outsiders what is right for the district.

Screw you Newt. I also sent in my Hoffman donation via Paypal from CINCINNATI OHIO.

I called Boehners office today and called him out for his support of Scazzaloser and the guy who answered the phone sounded like he had gotten my phone call hundreds of times already.

NO RINO SUPPORT!

Newts constant appearances on Hannity finally caused me to cut the cord with Sean. Heck, all he does is repeat the same talking points over and over and then buddy up to RINOs like Newt when clearly the conservatives DONT WANT HIM.

Does anyone see the hypocrisy here?
Newt is also an outsider. He lives in Virginia. He holds no official title in the RNC nor is he an elected Republican. His endorsement carries as much weight, from a geographical standpoint, as Sarah Palin's.
Also Newt, there was no input from the people on Scozzafava's selection. She was picked by a liberal Republican who had a high position on the committee. Picked by liberal RINO backers with no say from the people.
But back to the hypocrisy. How many times has the RNC - ergo, NATIONAL OUTSIDERS - butted their filthy noses into GOP primaries where conservatives were duking it out with RINOs? Remember Tim Walberg in MI? The RINOs tried to defeat him in the 2008 primary and didn't back him in the general? Chris Cannon? Where was all that talk about local people then?

It’s a ‘gerrymander’ thing...I believe he lives in Lake Placid, just outside the district line. His business locations are inside the district.

he has done NOTHING for the cause and the party

Were you not around in 1994?

What he did then was nearly unprecidented in political history.

At the least, he set an example (back then) of what needs doing in 2010.

He is just pissed that Sarah and others have decided to pick principal over party.

The prime textbook example for conservatives to not support RINOs is none other than Schwarzenegger. We were all told here back on 2003 that we needed to vote for him or else California was going to fall into the Pacific.

I really wonder what the Rats have on Newt.

Probably nothing. This was Newts "move to the center" for his eventual entry into the presidential race. He made a really bad call and now is unable to back off. In about a month, he will issue an essay intended to mollify conservative about his stance. The essay will receive a lukewarm response from conservatives. At least that's the way he did it when he sat on the couch with Nancy and when he praised Obama.

His middle initial is “L”, the only Douglas L Hoffman listed is:

Douglas L Hoffman
Adirondack Loj Rd
Lake Placid, NY 12946

Where are the district lines?

I grew up in that district. Back 20 years ago they voted reliably for liberal Republicans. Think Nelson Rockefeller.

Her family is from the area, near Moriah in Essex County if I remember correctly. My high school graduating class was 26. Small towns, kept small by state control so that the watershed can be tapped to move the water to New York City and other cities downstate. Because of state controlled zoning, the place is horribly economically depressed.

Permitted industry: Summer employment in the tourist industry, to include various summer camps and boat marinas. Winter employment in ski resorts, and state jobs removing snow from the roads. Lake Champlain freezes over in the winter, and it is a 120 miles long icy blast from Canada. Most children move away. Large 4 bedroom houses sell for 80,000$. A nasty black biting fly causes people not from there to smear camphor oils on their skin, but bites swell. After a few years most get immunity, but boy those years are miserable.

A rep doesn’t have to live in his district. Tom McClintock, who is from Orange Co. was recently elected from a Northern Ca district. Much to everyone’s delight.

Newt wants another book deal and TV face time. It’s all about his ego and alimony payments.

Why do so many Republican-bashing posts here so frequently read like they're authored by folks taking "English As A Second Language" classes?

Shut up Newt, your a has been, get lost!!!!

Keep digging, Newt. BTW, how is the sales of your book?

Why is Newt involved if we should only pay attention to in the district support.

Newt went on a tour with Al Sharpton. Hannity makes keeps him relevant.

We the small people out side the Washington elite are sending money to Hoffman’s campaign.

Thats just plain dumb.

No matter who wins the party will look rediculious .

Yeah he has been out of the real world for far to long if he could say that with a straight face.

Yes, and he was elected, and California didn't fall into the Pacific...he is Arnold, after all.

What the blazes kind of double speak is that?
One percent liberal anything and the term is correctly RINO.
I do not want anything except a 100% Constitutional Conservative whose only goal is small government and strict adherence to the Constitution as it is written and not interpreted.

shouldn’t get involved in an outside race.

Newt's got a control issue problem. Doesn't like it when conservatives come and play - we weren't invited! It's fun crashing 'the party'! Thanks Sarah and Doug!

Here is a district map. See Potsdam, Lake Placid is just to the South East of that, close to where the N is in Franklin.
