A strong Third Party made up of conservatives will force the GOP to start returning to conservatism. As long as Conservatives continue to believe the liberal pap from the GOP ...the GOP will remain liberal.
Also, the GOP needs to dump some of their platform....notably Free Trade and Globalism. Such Economic Anti-Americanism prevents it from getting the votes of the working class....who only vote Democrat because of economics (but are conservative in all other areas)
Free Trade and Globalism are liberal ideas, anyway....supported by people like George Soros, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, The Clintons, Barb Boxer, Dianne Feinstein...and assorted other liberals

Let the liberal arm of the GOP start their own third party.
Much better for Sarah Palin to take over the GOP by endorsing actual conservatives in the primaries.
Newt and company have no credibility or clout left.
It all belongs to Sarah now.
