The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has spent tens of thousands of dollars in the three-way NY-23 race to support pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-taxation, pro-stimulus DIABLO candidate Dede Scozzafava, who has refused to promise not to run as a Democrat next year if she loses the Republican primary as expected. That's bad enough, but at least many of the ads so far have focused on attacking the Democrat, which we can all agree upon.
Rumors posted to NRO and elsewhere are saying that this weekend things will change, and hundreds of thousands of NRCC dollars will pour into the district to sponsor attack ads against Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman. Meanwhile, the NRCC is not strongly supporting conservative Republican David Harmer in his run for a seat in California.
The conclusion we have to draw is that Rep. Pete Sessions, the chair of the NRCC, needs to leave his post. I will never give one dime to the NRCC again until it is abolished and refounded. I will also be supporting whatever candidate runs against Pete next year.
I am sad, however, that being far away from Washington and Texas, I will be unable to express my displeasure toward Pete in person.
BTTT
amen
targeted giving is the only kind, from here on out
Fire Pete Sessions for attacking Doug Hoffman with Our Money
From the NRCC head or from Congress? He is in a pretty secure seat it seems to me so replacement as NRCC top dog maybe the most viable option.
Not one damned dime to the RNC until they clean up, flush out and fly right.
Don’t just start with Pete Sessions. Get rid of Bonehead Bohnior, McConnell, Steele as well.
agreed!

Sorry, won’t join you. I’m happy we have so many people supporting Doug, but I can’t fault the national republican committees for supporting the choice of the local republican committees.
In this case, I COULD support them doing otherwise, because the pick was done so shadily, and the person chosen so out of the mainstream of republicanism. Generally, I’d be pissed if the national committee tried to overrule the local committee, because normally when that happens its because the local committee chose a good conservative.
If we are to take back the party, we need to do it from the grass roots, which means taking back the local committees, getting involved, and then counting on the national committee to support our nominees, even if they don’t like them.
It’s harder to do that if we go after the national committee for supporting the locally chosen republican, rather than supporting the republican who left the party to run as an independent.
(We have that happen all the time here, we pick good conservatives and the loser moderate gets mad and runs as an independent, draining off support and giving victory to the democrat. And just as much as we hate liberal republicans, the liberal republicans hate us conservatives, and so it’s best if we don’t punish the national committee simply for supporting the republican candidate — it’s what we normally want them to do, and something they don’t always do).
I do believe we shouldn’t give the NRCC Money, and we should write them and tell them to attack Owens instead of Hoffman (because their republican candidate would get more votes from Democrats anyway); we should also tell them to stop wasting money on a lost cause candidate (they do this all the time when the lost cause is a conservative), and instead throw all their money into the california race.
BTW, on the California race, The money there should be spent strictly on get-out-the vote efforts for republicans. We don’t want to raise general awareness, because if the democrats get too worked up, they’ll all show up for the election, and we need them to stay home.
Both. Sessions needs to pay a big price for this. He’s beyond RINO, he’s a traitor.
The only way to get back the Republican Party is to intensely focus on the primaries, to eliminate the RINOs and replace them with conservatives.
But now they're putting out attack ads against the conservative candidate--his person, his beliefs, his positions.
More than de-funding, they need a severe punishing.
More funny was when they put out an ad attacking Owens for supporting the stimulus package, when their own candidate also supports the stimulus package.
If I were Hoffman, I’d just run that same ad, with a text addition that says Dede supports it as well.
They better be real careful going negative, it may just send more Rs over to Hoffman.
I think I need to send some money to the Hoffman campaign. The RNC really sucks!
With that, I give you:
The National Republican Congressional Committee
Rep. John Carter, TX (in pic, far left)
Rep. Eric Cantor, VA (third from left)
Rep. John Boehner, OH (fourth from left)
Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, WA
Rep. Pete Sessions, TX (sixth from left)
Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, MI (not pictured)
Note: Rep. Mike Pence, second from left, strenuously objected to Scozzafava, and refused to endorse her or send her money. In retaliation, pro-leftist house members like those above anonymously told reporters that Pence isn't supporting Dede because he's anti-woman.
Sessions sent me an e-mail asking for $$$ I responded with a blistering reply that not one dime of my $$$ will go to his committee....I sent $$$directly to Hoffman.
Why would you be donating money to them anyway? Haven’t they done enough damage yet?
I may clueless, but I’m trying to figure out why the NRCC being condemned for supporting a Republican vs. someone who is independent and not a Republican? I realize he’s a conservative, and DS is a liberal Republican, so he’s more desirable than her. However, if he’s not running as a republican, why does the NRCC being scolded for supporting a Republican in the race, isn’t that their job?
Now I like what I see in Hoffman, but I don’t have a dog in this race; as I’m from Utah. I know the Republican is a liberal, and even as a R. myself, really don’t want her to win. We need as many strong conservatives as possible in the congress and senate, I agree. However, if he’s an independent, and is not running as a Repub., he’s essentially a rival or opponent. There is no getting around that fact, whether we like it or not!
Why are people on here criticizing the party for opposing him? He’s an opponent, isn’t he? Now am I reading this right? Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that people support this man individually. I hoping I don’t get attacked by some people for being a RINO, and not supporting ‘real’ conservatives! I know those posters are just waiting to pounce!
I do remember a number of posters who had a lot of warm praise for Pete Sessions at times in the past. Therefore, it’s strange to see/read about him being praised to the heavens before, and condemned as a RINO and a ‘traitor’ the next! Why, is he and other Repub.s praised as heroes one minute, and ‘traitors’ (RINOs)the next? Honestly, some people turn praise and condemnation at the flick of a switch on here!
