I read about Johnson. Some think the GOP might find a future by adopting olde school fiscal conservatism, which Johnson and Ron Paul support.
Also he served out his elected terms as Governor of New Mexico, if I recall.

I am just pointing out the nation building (which means empowering Demopublican politicans to forcefully spread “liberty” to every knook and cranny of the planet) and nanny statism go together like hand and glove. Johnson’s primary reputation is for supporting repeal of drug laws. One toke over the line, old Paulie, one toke over the line!
