Ben Stein on Barack Obama : We've Figured Him Out
American Spectator ^ | 2009 | Ben Stein

Posted on 10/28/2009 12:37:12 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?

Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

They ignored his anti-white writings in his books. They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.

They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student. They ignored his ultra-left record as a "community organizer," Illinois state legislator, and Senator.

The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.

Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East, way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future.

The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill -- a great idea in theory -- was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.

Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.

The American people already know that Mr. Obama's plan to lower health costs

Brought to you by the teacher who taught Ferris Bueller's economics class

Ben Stein is one smart, industrious guy. I wish I had half his intelligence, half his knowledge of capital markets and capitalism, and half his industriousness. This guy really gets around.

Stein's had a TV/acting career: he hosted Win Ben Stein's Money for years on TV, and he has a big-screen filmography to go with Ferris Bueller, which wasn't a one-shot deal. He has also done a ton of advertisements, e.g. for eye drops that "get the red out". A copy of his 1992 book about the Michael Milken scandal, A License to Steal, which is later and more compendious than James Stewart's Den of Thieves which I'd read years ago, rests about two feet from my hand as I type. He covered Milken and the Predators' Ball for Barron's in the 80's and decried the trumpery and thievery that Milken and Drexel Burnham Lambert were up to, while writing two other books about finance. I should imagine his bibliography is longer now, 17 years later.

The first page of A License to Steal quotes Adam Smith, in The Theory of Moral Sentiments:

Justice .... is the main pillar that upholds the whole society. If it is removed, the great, immense fabric of human society .... must in a moment crumble into atoms.

Flouting justice and evading the just judgments of a fair, free market was what Milken and his predatory associates were all about.

I agree with you. Poor sap doesn’t understand that Kennedy would bitch slap him back to the last century for his beliefs.

The last thing we need is this guy to be harmed. I don’t like his politics, but I just want him out of power.

Rush said something today that really struck a cord with me.

Kennedy was killed by a man that agreed with Obama on almost everything. He was a communist, sided with the enemies of our nation, and fixated on people like Fidel Castro.

That really should give today’s Communists(D) something to think about, but then what percentage of them actually know who Oswald was, let alone that he and Obama probably agree on over 95% of what they believe(d) in.

.
Unimaginable kindness and trust equals gullibility in politics. It is most likely that the kindness and trust will be repeated in the future.

The same sentiments have caused the American people to have forgotten about 9/11 and who perpetrated it.

”IGNORANCE IS AMERICA’S MOST EXPENSIVE COMMODITY...”

.
Wrong — it’s America’s CHEAPEST commodity. That’s why the majority is buying it.

Not that smart and not that conservative. Stein gave money and his support to Franken.

I figure Ben Stein for a pre-New Deal Democrat, what they used to call a "lunch-bucket Democrat" of the urban-ethnic but non-Socialist variety.

The old Dems in the 20's were a bunch of Old Jacksonians, tied up in the Grange movement, the Progressive movement, and, if they were in the small towns, the Klan. My grandfather was Irish Catholic and a William Jennings Bryan man, but he was leaned on by small-town Klansmen who were probably just as much Democrats as he was. He voted for FDR just once -- until he figured out what FDR was. He never voted for him again.

The ethnic Democrats took over the Dem Party in 1928 from the rural Jacksonians and the Klan, and four years later the Socialists snookered them all. They didn't recognized FDR's "frontal politics" coalition for what it was (I've never seen his "grand coalition" described as a Soviet-style "frontal politics", which it was), and kept dismissing Stalinists like Harry Hopkins, Harry Dexter White, and Henry Wallace as just exponents of a "variety" of opinion within the "big tent" of Democratic politics. They couldn't have been more wrong, and they have never awakened to reality since.

Today, the lunch-bucket Dems and non-Socialist ethnics are largely asleep in the belly of the Red beast of "progressive" Democratic politics. They don't know they're being digested and that their energies and support are being siphoned off to nourish real evil, and that their own vision of America is being destroyed.

Today's liberal Dems are more like the Dawn of the Dead zombies the ACLU lawyers were parodied as being, in last year's lampoon of Michael Moore. The lawyers kept trying to rush the bench with writs and the judge (Dennis Hopper) kept mowing them down with a pump shotgun.

The lampoon is correct in this: that there is a real thinking deficit in true-believing Progressive 'Rats, who are Stalinists and don't even know it.

Too bad many people didn’t figure him out until after the election.

I tend to agree with your comments.

That being said, after running into the people who participate in A.N.S.W.E.R. rallies, I am convinced that far more than I would have thought, do know and want us to become Stalinists.

I’m gonna get flamed for saying this but it is the truth none the less. Ben Stein is Jewish and so is Al Franken. Jews tend to always cover each others backs. Those who wish to deny or ignore this plain truth do so at their own peril. We see the same all the time with blacks backing blacks because they are black. That is a large part of why Zero is in the WH today.

[And the best doctors will retire - we’ll all be treated with the “respect” the average medicaid gets...]

H@LL, we can only wish for such “good” treatment! Remember, these people will have electronic access to your medical history, your IRS numbers, your bank accounts and even your political history!

We FReepers can only PRAY that we get treated as good as the “DMV/Medicaid” treatment! I am thinking it will be more like the VA treatment seen in “Born on the Fourth of July”!!

My dog has the same issue!

Today I was walking him and he just fell down and couldn’t get up. He just layed there.

I urged him on and just to please me, he struggled and got up.

I cried like a fool.

He’s my best friend.
