DOVER, DEL. -- Earlier this year President Obama lifted the 18-year ban on media coverage of the return of fallen soldiers to Dover, a ban critics said hid the costs of war from the American people. Thursday morning President Obama -- who is weighing new strategy in Afghanistan -- saw those costs up close.

Phony POS!

Obama should meet every one of those planes that carry our fallen brave and honorable soldiers untill it dawns on him that in the real world...our warriors are getting killed while he decides if more troops are "politically correct" for his re-election.

I loathe this man.

Where's that "clear mission" now, obama?

Dead troops were just used by the left as a means to oppose President Bush. The left doesn’t care about dead troops now and President Obama’s presence there is an insult. With President Bush gone, we have but one lone AP photographer that shows daily for these type of pictures.

At that time of the night, without Afghanistan hanging over his head, he’d be with REGGIE LOVE shooting “HOOPS”, of course!

The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball did take place at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel on January 20, 2009. 47 Medal of Honor recipients were in attendance at the event. The President traditionally attends, as does the Vice President and other dignitaries. Vice President Joe Biden did attend, but President Obama did not.

Instead, Barack Obama chose to be in the company of Kanye West, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kid Rock, Stevie Wonder, Mary. J. Blige, Usher, Faith Hill, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Shakira, will.i.am, Samuel L. Jackson, Sting, Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sheryl Crow and Marc Anthony, amongst numerous other celebrities in attendance at the balls he did appear at.

Barack Obama made a monumental mistake in declining to attend the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball in favor of rubbing shoulders with celebrities. While the American Legion states that they do not feel snubbed or offended, plenty of America’s citizens and servicemen are.

March 10,2009

The White House announced Michelle Obama will tour Fort Bragg on Thursday Mrs. Obama will be meeting with military spouses and speaking to community organizations that help support troops and their families. This visit comes after a March 3 trip to Arlington National Cemetery, where she addressed women in the military service to mark Women’s History month.

Now that she’s officially proud of her country again, she can start getting those photo ops with the military that she hates so much. March 12, 2009 Michelle Obama FORT BRAGG, N.C.

First lady Michelle Obama, venturing away from Washington to define her White House role, called on the American people Thursday to embrace the military families in their communities. She then told a crowd of community leaders in nearby Fayetteville that Americans need to reach out to members of the military.

March 13,2009 Exclusive: Michelle Obama's Emotional Meeting With Military Families

Michelle Obama opened up to Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America" in her first television interview since she became first lady.

MARCH 17, 2009

By choosing Fort Bragg for her first official trip outside the capital last Thursday, Michelle Obama signaled that she will use her position as First Lady to promote one of America's most deserving causes: our military families.

Plainly the families loved it. Just look at the smiles on those children as she read them "The Cat in the Hat."

So it was just a little disconcerting the next morning to hear the First Lady explain how she came to this issue:

Michelle Obama - "I think I was like most Americans," she told ABC News. "Pretty oblivious to the life of military families. Sort of taking it for granted."

Perhaps Mrs. Obama did take these families for granted. Surely, however, it's extraordinary to suggest that "most Americans" did the same. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123725233352050133.html

the CAMERAS just HAPPENED to be there to show BO saluting the caskets.

Reminds me of the pre-arranged rocks Clinton found on the beach at Normandy to make a cross and "the dance" of Hill and Bill dancing on the beach in bathing suits. Cameras just happened to be there!

They think all people are as stupid as their supporters!

If I’m not mistaken, President Bush visited wounded soldiers at Walter Reed without pool being present.

Great catch on that link, Girlene.

“Wasted Lives” is right out of his mouth.

And that line was heard by al qaeda who probably sent out a prompt memo to all their minions: “kill some more. It’s working.” (Maybe even: “Our accomplices are doing their part. Let’s not waste their work on our behalf.”)

I wish I had seen this before I bought for the packages I’m sending to a couple of soldiers. I didn’t know what to pack and had to guess. Got half of my package right. Next time, I’ll do better.

Of Course it’s a PR STUNT... When W did stuff like this... it was MONTHS before we found out and even then it was only.. yes he was there.

So true. If BHO had any class, any sense, he wouldn't have allowed pictures....but of course that is too much to ask.

Here’s how the media playing this. Associated Press
DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. — Standing in the pre-dawn darkness, President Barack Obama saw the real cost of the war in Afghanistan: The Americans who return in flag-covered cases while much of the nation sleeps in peace.
The dramatic image of Obama on the tarmac was a portrait not witnessed in years. Former President George W. Bush spent lots of time with grieving military families but never went to Dover to greet the remains coming off the cargo plane. SEVEN PICS—> http://www.tribstar.com/news/local_story_302072011.html
