Huge Texas Wind Farm's Turbines Will Be Made in China

Clean tech has seen a boost as the U.S. pours government funding into renewable energy, and China looks set to reap much of the benefits. Latest example: a Chinese wind-turbine company has just become the exclusive supplier for one of the largest wind-farm developments in the U.S. The Shenyang Power Group has signed on to supply 240 of its massive 2.5-megawatt wind turbines to a 36,000-acre development in West Texas. The Wall Street Journal reports that the wind farm is also slated to receive $1.5 billion in financing from the Export-Import Bank of China.

Patriotic Americans should be rioting in the streets over this.

Everyday I say there is nothing that could surprise me anymore....then morning comes....and again I say there is nothing that could surprise me anymore. It’s like the movie Groundhog Day.

Maybe we can get China to drill for oil in the US.

They'll own it all soon enough anyway - and then they'll drill it. In the meantime they'll sell us their silly, overpriced, inefficient wind machines and laugh all the way to the Shanghai Bank!

P.T. Barnum was right. There is a sucker born every minute, and most of them are Liberals and envirowackos,

Well, GE bragged about spending a billion dollars in R&D to create the perfect wind turbine blade. And they are Obamanoid suckups par excellance. Good question why they aren't producing these gizmoes instead of Chinamen.

“Maybe we can get China to drill for oil in the US.”

First, we would have to GIVE them the oil rights...

As soon as China lines Soros' pockets with money 0bama and the libs will give them drilling rights to all the federal land they want.

Well as long as we keep rewarding all these CEO’s for moving all the manufacturing over to China this will continue. We can make all the excuses up we want but when its time to fight for the American worker, no body wants to step forward. Its always excuses like oh they are those dirty union workers, or they want too much money or are lazy of some other lame thing. Yes, it is true some are these things, but for the most part people are hard working people just wanting things for their families just like anyone else and until we say enough of this transfer of our manufacturing it will continue until it is too late if we haven’t reached that point already.

We can't build them because manufacturing anything in America causes pollution and
globull warming. Other countries don't pollute
and we need to be taught a lesson for our greediness and having paved roads.

Gosh, what a surprise.

I have some inside info.

GE orders fully half of their Nacelles (the housing for wind turbines) from Jupiter Plastics of China.

And the steel that goes into a turbine? 100% from GEXPRO.

Who is GEXPRO? Well they used to be GE but they got spun off and sold to China.

So GE is producing wind turbine that get a Production Tax Credit from the US tax payer, financed by GE Capital (who got a multi-billion dollar bailout from the US taxpayer and declared a bank), to buy towers, blades and nacelles form China.

And by the way, did the executives of GE Capital who took TARP money, take a pay cut?

I don't think so.

Now GE is poised to launch the "2.X" program which is a 2.5 MW turbine.

Guess where the first 20 turbines are being produced... Hint: Not the USA, the argument is between China and Europe. Europe will win. The crap that China produces will not be accepted.
