Swine Flu Kills 19 Kids In A Week
114 children have died in U.S.; widespread in all but 2 states

ATLANTA (AP) | Swine flu has caused at least 19 more children's deaths - the largest one-week increase since the pandemic started in April, health officials said Friday.
At least 114 children have died from swine flu complications since the spring, up from 95 reported a week earlier, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to release the last of its stockpile of liquid Tamiflu for children because of reported shortages of the swine flu treatment. Enough to treat an estimated 234,000 children is being released.
"We didn't see a reason to keep it in reserve when we have so much illness in children now," CDC Director Thomas Frieden said at a news conference.
The government sent some of the stockpile to states in the spring and some more - about 300,000 courses - earlier this month. To replenish the supply, the government has ordered more from Tamiflu's manufacturer, Switzerland-based Roche Holdings, Dr. Frieden added. But that medicine is not expected to come in until early next year.
Pharmacies are able to convert adult Tamiflu capsules - which are in good supply - to pediatric doses, he added.
Dr. Frieden encouraged pharmacists to take adult Tamiflu capsules and, with careful measures, put it into a syrup palatable for children. To help make pediatric capsules palatable for children, he said, parents could consider mixing the contents with a sweet liquid such as chocolate syrup.

I don’t trust those statistics either. In our case, though, my husband’s doctor probably didn’t count him as swine flu; H1N1 didn’t even seem to cross that doctor’s mind. And, our pediatrician’s office didn’t even ask me to bring my children in, so I doubt they counted them.
Maybe we didn’t have H1N1, so I guess we should be careful. I was beginning to feel confident that we had nothing to worry about because I’d read articles that suggested most of the illnesses going around probably are H1N1. We always use hand sanitizer, etc., but we probably should be extra careful still.
I wonder if any of the reported victims who have lost their lives were not afflicted with H1N1, after all, but with something else...? I almost want to lock us all up in the house for the winter, but even doing that wouldn’t protect anyone completely.
but gives you a better chance.
I know, a frien’s step-daughter went to the doctor with a sore throat, he did not do the nose swab, he just proclaimed that she had swine flu and sent her home. Her mom who is a nurse is positive she did not have swime flu but a sinus infection.
Yup...
To govern is to make choices and under the administration of Barack Obama, the choice is in favor of detained terrorists over the Americans those terrorists would like to kill.
Are the people who make this kind of decision the ones you making health care decisions for hundreds of millions of Americans?
Congressmen Mike Pence (R-IN) and Bart Stupack (D-MI) aren't amused.
"As long as Americans must wait to receive the vaccine, the detainees in Guantanamo Bay should not be given preferential treatment to receive the H1N1 vaccination," Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) wrote in a letter to Secretary of the Army John McHugh on Friday.Pence, too, shared Stupak's concerns, but he also used his interview Friday to take a shot at Democrats -- and their handling of other healthcare crises -- in particular.
"I think this is exactly the kind of misadministration of healthcare, this and other aspects of the way this government is responding to the H1N1 virus, that ought to give the American people great pause about this massive government-run insurance plan that's been unveiled this week by House Democrats," Pence said.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say this get mention two or three thousand times in the upcoming debate in the House and Senate. It should make for a wonderful TV commercial as well.
Fortunately for the Gitmo detainees they are protected from doctors who can only look longingly at their tonsils and feet. If not for the armed guards you just know those greedy MDs would be hacking away at them for the money and the fun of it.
not to mention that ~36000 people die of the non H1N1 flu a year in the US. If 100’s were dying a day of the H1N1, then I’d freely admit it’s an epidemic as I am fully aware of how powerful a flu virus can be. But it’s not at this point. I see the scare tactics as partly understandable but the media again is distorting the story. I just found out that the CDC, via CBS’s story, told states to stop testing for H1N1 back in JULY and that many of the cases of suspected H1N1 were false. In fact, very few of the cases were H1N1 at all. It’s akin to how the CDC labeled AIDS deaths to people who actually died because of the toxic meds they were RX’d and not due to the HIV at all. What it boils down to is the scientific community wanting research money and the best way to do that is to fabricate a fear to get fed $$$.
But it is less effective than an immunized immune system.
And where is Obama's Health Sec? Not a word.
I place very little credence in anything coming from CBS.
Our state stopped checking for H1N1 when all the Influenza A tests came back H1N1 rather than another seasonal flu bug.
There is no point in continuing to test everyone for the flu if it is not going to change treatment. Tamiflu is not recommended first line treatment so confirming flu does not change treatment.
And that hole AIDS deaths myth is a myth. AIDS was killing and we had nothing to help. AZT came out and deaths went down. AZT plus other antivirals and AIDS deaths went to almost zero. That is the simple truth of the matter.
Are you sure that all the tests came back as positive? That’s not what CBS reporterd. In fact, the data that CBS received from the states that a small percentage of the cases came back as + for H1N1. Did you even read the CBS report?
apparently you are not aware of the huge movement against vaccinations and the mercury and other toxic elements within these shots.
I’m telling you what our experience was in our state. I’m not telling you what a reporter put into a story, I’m giving you first hand experience. Frankly based on their track record, if CBS agreed with me, it would make me nervous.
I can tell you that I have worked on issues in the past that have received media coverage, what a reporter reports frequently has little relationship with the facts in the matter.
I understand what you are saying but you are assuming that CBS waltered the data given to them by the States or if what CBS reported was 100 factual, that the States then gave faulty data.
I am completely aware of the antivaccination movement. It’s going to get people killed.
-when Becky Berkenstoc decides not to get her healthy children vaccinated, they will probably be fine, but when they spread their virus to the neighbor’s kid who has immune problems and dies, who is responsible for that child’s death?
“I wonder if any of the reported victims who have lost their lives were not afflicted with H1N1, after all, but with something else...?”
Agree. Since no actual testing has been done since July, they must be pulling their phony diagnoses out of their butts. A crystal ball would provide prognoses just as reliable, I expect.
I don’t know what CBS is up to but in my experience with reporters, facts never get in the way of a good story.
My grandson went to emergency, they said ALL fevers, coughs are being treated ‘as if’ it is H1N1 Porcine Obama Flu. Isn’t this poor medical procedure?
Only nineteen, it isn’t even close to a normal flu season!
“Chicken Soup, and healthy diet will protect you from getting it in the first place.”
I won’t eat chicken soup and have never had a flu shot or the flu in my 72 years.
good for you!
